Definitions of Injury
Superficial injury
abrasion, blister, contusion, hematoma, nonvenomous insect bite,
splinter [retained foreign body without major open wound]
Open wound
animal bite, cut, laceration, puncture [with foreign body]
Fracture
closed fracture, open fracture
exclude: pathological fracture, stress fracture, malunion, nonunion

Dislocation, sprain and strain

Injury to nerves and spinal cord
