MODULE 1: OBJECTIVES

• Upon completion of this module, Agent will :• Prepare DATAMAX printer for setup

• Set up Datamax printer• Load Valeron stock• Locate Agent Help Link• Install Printer Drivers using the Agent Help Link• Uninstall Printer Drivers using the Agent Help Link• Troubleshoot printer problems

• Install the printer using the AGENT HELP link found on the Agent Login screen• For technical issues with the printer setup, support

documentation can be found for both the INSTALL and UNINSTALL of the printer through the Agent Help Link.

• Use the correct Valeron stock

SETTING UP YOUR DATAMAX PRINTER

• Remove DATAMAX from the carton• Remove all

Styrofoam, tape, and any other packaging materials

PRINTER PREPARATION

CONNECT TO POWER

1. Connect power supply to printer’s power jack.

2. Connect AC power cord into the power supply.

3. Connect the AC power cord to an electrical outlet.

CONNECT TO WORKSTATION

• Connect USB cable

• Insert the small end of the USB cable into the USB on the back of the DATAMAX.

• Insert the larger end of the USB cable into a USB port on your workstation/computer.

The printer automatically establishes communications with the first port in which valid data passes through.

LOAD VALERON STOCK ROLL

• Pull the cover latches forward and lift up the cover.

Double check with Donna - we may want to switch the term "print media" with Valeron roll as that is how agents refer to it.

VALERON STOCK- CONT’D

1. Slide Valeron stock roll hangers outward.

2. Roll guides will guide the Valeron stock through the printer.

3. Allow hangers to retract and grasp the stock roll and pull the stock forward.

I had to use larger line widths to cover black arrows in the source graphics.

• Pull out enough valeron to exit the front of the printer.• Adjust the valeron

guides so they lightly touch the edge of the valeron.

The printer is set to use continuous rolls by the factory.

1. Go to Windows START button 2. Click CONTROL PANEL

1. Find the DataMax printer

2. Right click the mouse over the printer icon.

3. Select Printing preferences from the drop-down menu

1. Select Page Setup tab

1. Change the Label Size• Width = 3.38 in • Height = 4.25

2. Click OK to save settings

1. Verify the Stock Name field displays the new size.

2. Click OK. • Printer Preferences will

close.• The Datamax printer is now

ready for use.

UNINSTALL THE PRINTER

If using Windows XP, Windows 7 or higher, verify that system changes are made to allow for the uninstall.
