4.0 Introduction

This Instruction for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) document has been developed using the guidelines in Appendix “H” of EASA CS 25 as required by Commission Regulation (EC) 748/2012 Part 21A Subpart D (21A.107) and CS 25.1529. This document is designed to provide aircraft technicians with sufficient information to inspect, troubleshoot, adjust, repair, test, remove, and install the components pertaining to the subject Atlantic Aviation Group (AAG) Design Change. The Appendixes to this ICA list the documents that constitute the required information considered essential for continued airworthiness of the aircraft. These manual supplements are effective for the aircraft listed on the front sheet of this document, using the Effectivity numbers stated to identify differences between each configuration. This document is also the means by which recommendations for the amendment of Maintenance Schedules and Maintenance Manuals is advised. The information in this document supplements or supersedes the original manufacturer’s maintenance manuals only in those areas listed. For limitations, procedures and other information not contained in this document, refer to the aircraft manufacturer’s maintenance manuals, illustrated parts manuals and wiring diagrams or the vendor manuals as listed in the LOAP (APPENDIX A).

5.0 Revisions

For continuous use, the revision status of this ICA must be confirmed and maintained. Refer to the Record of Revision for information relevant to changes made to this document since initial issue. Each time the Design Change holder finds it necessary to revise this document; a revision will be distributed to all users of the Design Change. Upon receipt of the revision, any publications produced on the basis of the information contained herein should be reviewed and updated accordingly. It is the responsibility of the person(s) performing maintenance on the installed system to ensure that this document is current prior to performing any maintenance in accordance with this document. The current revision number may be verified by contacting Atlantic Aviation Group Design Services.

6.0 EWIS

EWIS – This Design Engineering Change has been reviewed as per the guidance provided in AMC 20-21 and AMC 20-23, and it has been determined that this Change does not necessitate a revision to EWIS ICA previously developed for this aircraft model.

7.0 Airworthiness Limitations

There are no airworthiness limitations associated with this Design Change.

8.0 Maintenance Scheduling Recommendations

The aircraft’s approved maintenance schedule not affected by this design change.

(1) Kidde Aerospace & Defense recommends that you weigh the container, on an accurate gram scale, on installation and again at intervals of five (5) years.

NOTE: The effect of the Montreal Protocol and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Clean Air Act of 1990 is to ban the release of halon into the atmosphere unless it is necessary. In compliance with the preceding, Kidde Aerospace & Defense recommends that the extinguishing agent be caught, recycled, and used again.

(2) Compare the weight of the container to the weight marked on the decal. Do not use the container if the weight loss is more than the permitted limit given (Refer to Table 1).

(3) If the weight is within the limits (Refer to Table 1), return the container to service. There is no life limit applicable to the container.

(4) For containers G800100-1 thru G800100-7, mark the weight on the weight label (PN 347841).
