1. Get outside and collect branches, twigs with colored leaves, pine cones, and acorns. Using objects found in nature gives your home an organic but modern feel. Add scented candles and you have a instant centerpiece.

2.An unexpected holiday color like copper adds a stunning element when paired with the more traditional gold and green tones. Note the position of the opposing square plates that were layered to form an interesting setting.

3.For a variation on table place cards, let each guest know where to sit by marking the chairs with nametags. Write the name on a paper tag and se-cure it at the back of the chair with ribbon and a sprig of eucalyptus, rosemary or a fresh flower.
