Energy usage in mixed use buildings varies depending on the type of building and the time of day. For example, hotels use a lot of hot water in the mornings, but very little throughout the day. Schools are heated during the day, but not at night. Sports arenas may have minimal activity for several days and then high usage over a weekend. Instead of keeping these systems operating at full capacity during non-peak hours, “venting on-demand” allows the exhaust system to precisely adjust to changing energy demands.

Systems that require exhaust or ventilation, such as boilers, dryers, kitchens and bathroom and fi replaces, rarely operate 24 hours a day. However, most exhaust systems are designed to operate at maximum exhaust, regardless of the energy demand. For large, multi-use buildings, this constant operation can represent a signifi cant expense and ineffi cient equipment operation.EXHAUSTO’s “venting on-demand” technology, also known as demand control ventilation, is one of the most effi cient ways to save energy and optimize ventilation performance. The system operates 24 hours a day at a pre-set low speed. When the fi replace or dryer or kitchen is in use, the system automatically adjusts the exhaust rate to meet current demands, ensuring optimal performance at the lowest possible energy levels.

Most ventilation systems run at full speed regardless of the demand. “Venting on-demand” adjusts to meet the needs of the system.

This is a unique fi replace and exhaust system for common venting of multiple ISOKERN gas-fi red fi replaces in residential, multistory buildings. The system is composed of multiple ISOKERN B-Vent fi replaces and one or more EXHAUSTO RSV fans, an EBC30 control and an automated actuator/balancing damper system and features On-Demand control. Each fi replace is connected to a common vent and vented by the RSV fan. This is a very economical solution that allow installation of high quality fi replace at a reasonable price while saving

space inside a building. Can be connected to a BMS system via an optional

BACnet module.

Multistory Fireplace & Exhaust System – MFES

Mechanical Dryer Venting System – MDVSThe MDVS is used to extract lint-laden air from Type 1 or Type 2 clothes dryers. It is suitable for dryers in multistory buildings whether installed in each dwelling or in a central laundry facility. It features On-Demand control that maintains a precise exhaust condition for the dryers by constantly adjusting the exhaust rate to meet current needs.The concept assure that dryers are never over- or under-drafted and optimal dryer times are achieved. Can provide savings up to 70% compared to fi xed speed fan installations. A truly ‘green’ solution that saves energy and space inside a building. Can be connected to a BMS system via an optional BACnet module.

Chimney Automation System – CASVThe CASV is used to monitor and control the draft for boilers, water heaters and other heating appliances. It is suitable for condensing or non-condensing heating appliances. It features On-Demand control that maintains a precise exhaust condition for the heaters by constantly adjusting the exhaust rate to meet current needs. The concept assure that heaters are never over- or under-drafted and optimal effi ciency and emissions are achieved. Can provide savings up to 20-30% compared to alternative systems. During this process we use state-of-the-art design software, developed by EXHAUSTO, which enables us to design any system with great accuracy and speed. Systems designed by EXHAUSTO come complete with AutoCAD installation instructions and wiring diagrams for the specifi c job. They are not generic diagrams but drawings showing where com-ponents are installed and exactly how they are wired together

so potential problems in the fi eld are resolved before they occur. A customized installation and wiring package is part of the delivery. EXHAUSTO offers telephone engineering and installation support. All designs are stored electronically, so our engineers and technicians know exactly what a system looks like and what it includes. As EXHAUSTO usually designs the entire venting system, we also take full responsibility for its operation. This is part of EXHAUSTO’s “PerformanceGuarantee”.

FanCalc allows EXHAUSTO’s experienced engineers to design complete venting systems fast, accurate and effi ciently, while providing engineers with sizing reports, code violation warnings as well as design alternatives.

EXHAUSTO has venting design capabi lities that not many fan or venting manufac-turer can match. In addition to creating venting system designs, FanCalc checks for code violations. It calculates and checks for proper vent type application, operating temperatures, pressure losses in each venting component, risk of con-densation and provides system specifi c wiring diagrams.
