08:30 - 10:00 Communication/Navigation - Information Assurance for Commercial, Civil and Military Satellite Operators

Plenary topics: There is a clear trend in increased focus on information assurance among all satellite operators, although the reasons for their focus may vary. Commercial and civil earth observation satellite operators worry about their urgent near-real-time data coming back to the users in time - and that all users are legitimate. Navigation satellite operators, as well as communication satellite operators, worry about interference that might disturb the quality of the signal from their satellites. Military operators are worried that received data and data about their satellites end up in the wrong hands, and about communication links being a way into their facility for hackers.
