Cleaning: Remove tip from diathermy pencil. Wipe over pencil and lead with a lint free cloth, detergent & water. Tip can be cleaned with a non-scratch scourer, which will remove any burnt on

debris. Ensure there is no blood in the distal end of the diathermy pencil. Brush and flush

gently. Automated washer disinfector (as per manufacturer’s instructions). Dry in dryer. Inspect for damage, cuts or tears in lead. Disposable diathermy and scabbards are available
