Sutra NetiSutra means 0thread0 and Sutra Neti is performed by threading twisted, wa*ed, cotton threadsin through one nostril and out of the mouth. /lternatively surgical rubber catheters can be used. This is a very effective method of keeping the nasal passages open to their fullest capacity. 't isrecommended for those people who may have been trying Jala Neti and who find that at alltimes one nostril is more blocked than the other. They may have some kind of fleshyobstruction blocking the nasal passages. Short of a medical operation, Sutra Neti is a viablealternative to clear these blockages. irstly one should master the 3 forms of Jala Neti using

water for some months and if this fails to relieve the blockage, a medical e*amination should bemade of the nose and the cause of structural blockage ascertained. Sutra Neti should then belearned under the guidance of a competent teacher.

Neti with Milk - Dughda Neti2sing a little milk warmed to body temperature in the Neti pot, is a practice suitable for those

who may suffer chronic nose bleeds or after Jala Neti Stages 1, + ,3 for those who find intenseirritation from the use of salty water. 't may be done in cases such as where chemicals ore*cessive saline cleansing have irritated the nasal lining. 't can also be done following SutraNeti if irritation is uncomfortable. -ilk Neti should not be done without ualified advice for yourspecific problem and even then, should not be done e*cessively.

Neti with Ghee - Ghrita Neti&armed ghee is used in place of milk. This is used to temporarily line the internal nasalmembranes with a fatty lining to relieve irritation from numerous causes.

Neti with Urine - Swaootra Neti2sing ones own urine for therapeutic purposes is a whole other branch of yoga therapy called/maroli. &e are not going to try to address most people(s 0that(s disgusting0 reaction 4 so if theidea turns you off, then read no further5 There are many reputable books on this topic bymedical and yoga researchers.

The reasons for implementing such an unusual mode of medicine correlates e*actly with theprinciples of homeopathy, that is 4 that a little bit of like cures like. !y irrigating with urinethrough the nasal passages, you are giving the brain subtle messages about what wastes andby4products are coming out of the body at levels of either e*cess or deficiency. The body(smicro substances such as hormones, vitamins, minerals and proteins are used as biofeedbackto help the brain correct internal metabolic processes. nce again, this branch of yoga therapyshould be learned from a ualified master of /maroli.
