If you are living in the Gold Coast, then you have a wealth of different gyms to choose
between, but this doesn't make it any easier to select the one that you actually want. If you
have decided to focus your attention upon getting fit in a group, rather than with a personal
trainer, then you can at least narrow down some of your choices to meet your own needs.
You can focus upon the type of classes that you would like to have, and then select more
based upon what you want to achieve from the classes, at least in terms of your own fitness
levels.
Choosing a fitness dance class
Although most gyms offer the standard exercise machines, weight-lifting areas and personal
training schedules, they don't all offer the same type of group fitness classes. Gold Coast
residents may be surprised by the range of different classes on offer. They might have
available a number of different dance classes, from salsa to burlesque, although you might
be particularly interest in searching out Zumba classes. This is the special mixture of salsa,
merengue and exercise that has proven so popular with gym members around the world.
You may be interested in new and trendy dances, such as the Batuka, which combines
aerobic and dancing. However, you may also want to avoid those classes, and would prefer
something a little more traditional.
Choosing standard gym classes
If you want to go to the gym to take a traditional aerobic or cardio working class, then there
are still plenty of gyms willing to offer these services to their members. When picking these
kinds of group fitness classes Gold Coast residents might want to consider forms of core
strength training such as yoga and Tai-chi, or they may wish to look for something more
modern, such as boxing exercise, biking in groups, or other fitness classes which combine
the traditional format for classes with something original and new. Only by selecting the
