"This is the first school-wide, one-to-one technology rollout for Mater Dei High School," Frances Clare, the school's principal, said Monday. Students and teachers "will use individual iPads as an educational tool both inside and outside of the classroom."Clare said the iPads are part of a long-term plan to replace many textbooks and other printed materials, which can be costly both to parents and the school. The school will also integrate the device into its music, theater, choral and visual-art programs, Clare said.4
