Do you think that bringing together public services into one central place in the town centre would be a good idea?

Yes answers with reasons

Yes People are more likely to go to one place

Yes It would be more cost effective and provide easier customer access for all public services to be in one place

Yes

Undecided is an unsatisfactory option. I woud rather say "not bothered'. I don't think it makes any difference whatsoever where they are located provided the quality is high and there is some joined up thinking between them. Some facilities would definitely benefit from not being municipalized as this can present a barrier to people.

Yes provides for greater convenience and I think the One Stop Shop approach works well

Yes

Shared resources are a good idea as long as these are accessible to all with good public transport links and accessible parking

Yes To simplify things - everything is disjointed

Yes To provide a central hub

Yes it is easier to get too and you can do more than one thing per visit

Yes Easier to attend just one place

Yes It would be so much easier to access these facilities in one premises

Yes So everything is easier to get to

Yes Better for disabled if in one place

Yes Easier

Yes ease of use

Yes It has worked in Halewood and improved the community

Yes A better use of resources

Yes

It is a central place people can get too - Kirkby is a big place and the bus routes do not always go by all the current public services/agencies

Yes makes it easier to access services

Yes

New walk in centre needed but as also centres such as tower hill and southdene resource and GP practices fully utilised and further services from local hospitals located within the community

Yes Ease of access, but also would keep all the shops together too

Yes

I am a fairly new resident in Kirkby and cannot believe we have no large supermarket here, having to travel to ormskirk Skem aintree or Prescot for shopping is not really acceptable, the town centre has an array of tatty cheap shops and a market, and desperately lacks a large supermarket and a good mix of other nice shops and businesses. I'm sure if there was a supermarket it would attract many people and create much needed jobs and new investment in the town, we are a very well placed town but sadly it feels very shabby and left behind even to Prescot ! We desperately need investment and regeneration not just promises that are never delivered. Bring on Tesco even without Evertons stadium surely local residents agree?

Yes everything under one roof makes it easier and more convenient

Yes would be more convenient - saving time spent going from one place to another

Yes People would know to go to one central place for all the services

Yes if it was staffed well it would be more convenient to users

Yes easier to access

Yes frontline public services should be accessible in one location - but prime location should be use for retail

Yes less confusing and time consuming moving between buildings and service

Yes one visit

Yes

Town Centre remains the heart of this town. Central access supported by reliable and economic transport links across the town would ensure that the market continues to be relevant throughout the coming century. Local goods, local shopping supports local business and reduces one's carbon footprint. I buy English goods, many of which are sourced locally - more tasty, fresher and healthier for me and the planet.

No answers with reasons

No

I want the Kirkby Suite to be kept for the same usage i.e. functions, events, dance and boxing shows, weddings, celebrations, concerts and conferences etc. I do not want it changed into a library or any other public services housed there

No With telephone and Internet the need for investing in walk in one stop shops is an expensive waste.

No

I want the Kirkby Suite to be kept for the same usage i.e. functions, events, dance and boxing shows, weddings, celebrations, concerts and conferences etc. I do not want it changed into a library or any other public services housed there

No It's good the way it is just need a bit more money to make better

No

I would like the Kirkby Suite and Library left exactly where they are. The library is a local landmark-leave it alone. I have no desire to see it moved into the Kirkby Suite, as the Kirkby suite has always been used for local events for local people. Live bands, kids shows, line dancing, boxing, weddings, and all other celebrations for the residents of Kirkby.

No Rather have separate

No Kirkby suite should be used for functions, events and celebrations etc.

No

New walk in centre needed but as also centres such as tower hill and southdene resource and GP practices fully utilised and further services from local hospitals located within the community

Page 9: Do you think that bringing together public services into … ·  · 2012-04-18Do you think that bringing together public services ... Yes You know where you are Yes On the same doorstep

No

Too many people try to access the same people. They always cut staff when services are brought together and the service of care disappears resulting in long queues

No

You should not have everything in one building as not all areas work together well and need more space than others and taking shops etc from dentre will create empty shops and make Kirkby less attractive.

No

As people like their own space with certain things i.e. noise etc etc I think it would put people off going to places if different things was put together, as each person is different and has different needs and views.

No

Revamp the suite so the community can retain the facilities we now have. We don’t want a second rate library put in the existing suite, why cant we have a new library

No

the kirkby suite should be refurbished and have a new built library. No one building for all, with a small library we the people of kirkby deserved this or yet again will tesco come first not the people. Lets forget who votes in kirkby the residents, I DO NOT LIVE IN TESCOVILLE

No Kirkby suite to be left for the purpose it was built for.

No They are easier to access were they are

No Leave the kirkby suite for the purpose it was built

No

I do not want the kirkby suite remodelled. I want it kept for the same usage it has had since 1976 i.e. functions, events, weddings, concerts, shows, boxing, dancing and conferences

No

I want the Kirkby Suite to be kept for the same usage as it is now. I do not want the library or any other public service moved there please. The suite is a hub of creativity for local people if anything this should be encouraged by local council at very least

No

There are lots of public services here in our town. We don't need them centralised. We don’t need them reduced. We need them open and welcoming so people can meet in our community, so our young people can reach their potential, so there is lots of natural community activity happening, as there is now only more so. I am really passionate that we have places where we can operate as a community because as the people of Kirkby that is what we are. From this comes encouragement, social support for the old, the young, the dissadvantaged and those just needing a chat. We look out for one another and are part of one another's lives. I feel this is really important, it is what makes Kirkby special to me and why it is my home. The Centre 63 is also very good and stops lots of youngsters going off the rails. Please don't put it all in Huyton.

No Centralising services if managed effectively could be very good

No

I want the existing services to remain and be improced upon. I do not want them to be reduced in size and scale, which has already happened to the new leisure centre. In comparison to the old leisure centre the people of Kirkby have been short changed. I do not want this to happen again.

No I am a disabled person and unable to go far under my own
