Meditation Psalm 119:11-13 Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.

Blessed are You, O LORD! Teach me Your statutes. With my lips I have declared All the judgments of Your mouth.

Unashamed Love† Lamont Hiebert

You’re callin’ me to lay aside the worries of my day,

to quiet down my busy mind, find a hiding place Worthy, You are worthy

I open up my heart and let my spirit worship Yours I open up my mouth and let a song of praise come forth

Worthy, You are worthy

Chorus Of a childlike faith and of my honest praise,

and of my unashamed love; Of a holy life and of my sacrifice,

and of my unashamed love. (repeat verse & chorus)

Ending

Worthy, You are worthy. Worthy, You are worthy. You are worthy, You are worthy, You are worthy.

My soul shall make its boast in the LORD; The humble shall hear of it and be glad. Oh, magnify the LORD with me, And let us exalt His name together. I sought the LORD, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears. They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces were not ashamed. This poor man cried out, and the LORD heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them. Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! Oh, fear the LORD, you His saints! There is no want to those who fear Him. The young lions lack and suffer hunger; But those who seek the LORD shall not lack any good thing. Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD. Who is the man who desires life, And loves many days, that he may see good? Keep your tongue from evil, And your lips from speaking deceit. Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it. *Hymn of Praise O Word of God Incarnate #267 *Invocation Confession of Sin God Be Merciful to Me #415 Silent Prayer of Confession between verses 4 & 5

Words of Assurance Psalm 119:145-152 *The Apostles’ Creed I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended to hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father almighty;

From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic* church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen. *that is, the true Christian church of all times and all places

How Deep the Father’s Love† Stuart Townend

How deep the Father’s love for us, how vast beyond all measure,

That He should give His only Son, to make a wretch His treasure.

How great the pain of searing loss; the Father turns His face away, As wounds which mar the Chosen One, bring many sons to glory.

Behold the Man upon a cross, my sin upon His shoulders;

Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice, call out among the scoffers. It was my sin that held Him there, until it was accomplished;

His dying breath has brought me life, I know that it is finished.

I will not boast in anything, no gifts, no power, no wisdom; But I will boast in Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection.

Why should I gain from His reward? I cannot give an answer,

But this I know with all my heart; His wounds have paid my ransom.

Reign In Us†

Ben Glover | Jon Neufeld | Tim Neufeld

Verse 1

You thought of us before the world began to breathe And You knew our names before we came to be You saw the very day we'd fall away from You And how desperately we need to be redeemed

Lord Jesus come lead us We're desperate for Your touch

Chorus

Oh, great and mighty One With one desire we come

That You would reign That You would reign in us We're offering up our lives

Page 5: Dr. Barry Cureton Phill & Kelly Thomas Shepherding Pastor ......Dr. Barry Cureton Phill & Kelly Thomas Shepherding Pastor Youth Directors Sunday, October 21, 2018 . Worship Service

A living sacrifice That You would reign

That You would reign in us

Verse 2 Spirit of the living God fall fresh again

Come search our hearts and purify our lives We need Your perfect love we need Your discipline

We're lost unless You guide us with Your light Lord Jesus come lead us

We're desperate for Your touch

Sermon The Church’s One Foundation Part 16 Pastor Barry “Speaking the Truth in Love” *Closing Hymn

May the Mind of Christ My Savior

May the mind of Christ my Savior live in me from day to day, By His love and pow’r controlling all I do and say.

May the Word of God dwell richly in my heart from hour to hour,

So that all may see I triumph only through His pow’r

May the peace of God my Father rule my life in every-thing, That I may be calm to comfort sick and sorrowing.

May the love of Jesus fill me as the waters fill the sea;

Him exalting, self abasing, this is victory.

May His beauty rest upon me as I seek the lost to win, and may they forget the channel, seeing only Him.

OPEN HEARTS MINISTRY

Have you heard of Merry Marthas? It is a wonderful ministry at Liberty, where volunteers make and deliver a meal for those who are in need. We all have times when we are in need, whether due to medical treatment, a recent addition of a child, or due to bereavement. We are looking for additional volunteers who would act as a Merry Martha for foster families in Carroll County. There are approximately 20 families in Carroll County who are fostering. Foster parents take on the role of a parent, in addition to the many medical, therapy, school appointments, visits with birth parents, and court dates involved in foster care. Would you be willing to make a meal for a family who is serving children from hard places? We have volunteers who can help deliver meals if that is an issue, so please don’t let that be a barrier to serving through this ministry. Please contact Erin Tracht if you are interested (443-547-0051 or [email protected]).

YOUTH GROUP Youth Group meets every Sunday evening at 6:30-8:30 in the Block House. We will be starting a new series from the Bible Project.

Focus on Missions - the Coulbournes Craig and Ree Coulbourne have been missionaries in Japan since 1994. They are serving through Mission to the World (MTW), the foreign missionary arm of our denomination, the PCA (Presbyterian Church in America). They are originally from Maryland and have stayed in our Missions House (across the driveway) a couple of times, during home assignments. All of their children except Danil have left the nest. From 1996 to 2008, they cooperated with a Japanese pastor to plant

a church in Chiba City, near Tokyo, which is now a healthy and growing church.

After Craig completed his seminary studies, the Coulbournes returned to Japan in 2011. Since that time, they have been living in Urayasu City, where Craig is the church planting pastor at Shin Urayasu Grace Church (SUGC). SUGC began public worship in March 2012. Craig and Ree are building relationships in Urayasu through participation in community and school activities as well as outreach activities at SUGC. A growing number of people from Urayasu are studying the Bible. Many children from the community are attending children’s events. The first new believer was baptized in December 2014. Craig is also the team leader of the Tokyo Bay Team, which has a vision to see church-planting

work take place in three locations (SUGC being the first) by 2025.

Craig and Ree are praising God that Mari Inoue was baptized this past Easter. They have been working with and praying for her to become a Christian since

before 2003. They now vividly see how God is really doing His work.

Please pray for :

Mari, that God will lay a strong spiritual foundation in her life. Pray also for her husband and her son, that God might work through Mari and through circumstances in their lives to draw them to Himself as well.

Several people in Urayasu, who have been earnestly studying the Bible for some time now, that God’s work in their hearts would continue, and that they,

too, would come to trust the Lord Jesus.

That God would speed the return of one the missionary team families that left this summer for home assignment. Pray for those who remain, as they carry a

heavier load in their absence.

NURSERY CHANGES We are now offering childcare in the Noah’s Ark Room for children ages 18 months to under four years old. For insurance purposes, we must have two volunteers (who are not married to each other) in both the Noah’s Ark Room and the “pink” nursery during each service. Due to a shortage of volunteers and infants in the 0-24 month nursery (the pink nursery), a decision has been made to combine the older infants with the toddlers in the Noah's Ark room, and we will combine volunteer forces as well! Parents are welcome to use the pink nursery during the service as an additional “Comfort Room” but must accompany their children since the room will be unstaffed. We are hopeful that this will only be a temporary situation and we pray to have a fully utilized 0-24 month nursery in the future! Please consider volunteering - it is a great way to get to know covenant children and families that you have not yet had the opportunity to meet. The pink nursery will be staffed for the Sunday School hour; it also has its own privacy room for nursing Moms. Please email Lisa Byrd with questions: [email protected]

Ben Weinreich’s Short Term Mission Trip

In November Ben will be part of a team going to Litein, Kenya to do renovations on an old house for a new Serge missionary family who will be moving there to serve as physicians in the local hospital. The family has 3 young children, and the house is in need of much work to make it safe and livable for the family. Copies of Ben’s letter about the trip are on the back table with details on how to support him both with prayer and financially.
