1. freehand analytical drawing
8
Create a 3 layered line analytical drawing of an industrial object.
Key Notes:Things to keep in mind when drawing are: line weight, your posture, your drawing board’s position, linear perspective, intuitive gesture, proportion, transparency
Key Words: Buzz, speed, visible thought, confidence

2. linear technical illustration
18
Create a mechanical illustration using 3 different line weights, based directly on Project 1. It has to be executed using Adobe Illustrator (mostly employing the pen and shape tool).
Key Notes:Line weight variation communicates depth, distance, surface contact, implies and focuses.
Key Words: Construction, transparency, visibility, emphasize

Line Weight StudiesSharpie Markers
Key NotesPrimary line weight is used where the negative
space meets the positive space. Softer line weight is used for the interior that isn’t clear.

Key NotesSecondary line weight is used for the interior of the object, definable breaks.

3. rendered illustration
24
Create a monochromatic rendering of the chosen object based directly on Project 2.
Key Notes:The experience is the development of the skill and techniques of media rendering emphasizing the six cat-egories of light and materiality of the object.
Key Words: Surface, texture, material, volume, light, space
