  • DREAM OF RAINBOWS

WRITTEN BY SRINIDHI.RILLUSTRATED BY MADHATH KHAN

  • My heart leaps up, when I behold a rainbow in the sky

    - William Wordsworth

  • Dedicated to my grandfather who has been my greatest source of inspiration

  • I have seen flock of birds soaring high up in the air.

  • I have seen airplanes cruising at high speeds.

  • I have seen stars twinkling in the night.

  • But I have never seen a rainbow appearing in the sky.

  • Rainbows are said to be beautiful.

  • Rainbows are said to be colorful.

  • Rainbows may possibly be magical.

  • But rainbows appear rarely in the sky.

  • When the sky is clear after the rain,

  • And the sun appears with its light shining into the rain,

  • The rays of light enter the rain drops,

  • Splitting the sunlight into multiple colors,

  • And a beautiful rainbow is formed.

  • I learnt about this in school,

  • And I dreamt of seeing a rainbow,

  • A beautiful and magical rainbow,

  • Made up of seven different colors,

  • That will shine brightly in the sky.

  • With the dream in mind, I opened the window,

  • Wow! Theres a real rainbow,

  • Shining brightly in the sky.

  • And its more beautiful than I ever imagined.

  • Thank you, God!

  • My rainbow dream has finally come true!
