4. Attach the ears around the hairband with double-sided tape or glue.

TO MAKE THE BFG’S CLOTHES

1. Ideally, you would wear a light blue top and green trousers. If you don’t have quite the right colours, just pop some old tracksuit bottoms into a hand dye in a bucket (please always follow the instructions on the packet).

2. To make the waistcoat: cut the arms off a white T-shirt, and then straight up the middle, and you will be left with a waistcoat. Dye brown and leave to dry.

3. TO MAKE THE BELT: cut out the belt template and draw round the belt buckle on to gold card. Attach your buckle on to a piece of brown paper or card that is 4cm wide-by as long as you need it to fit round your child’s waist, and place it around the top of your trousers. Staple the belt at the back or use sticky Velcro dots to attach.

Put some gel or water in your child’s hair to slick it back for a real BFG look!

YOU WILL NEEDLight blue top

Green trousers

Brown waistcoat – or you can make your own with a white T-shirt and some brown clothes dye

Sandals (if you have them)

For belt: gold card, brown paper

Stapler or sticky Velcro dots

• If you don’t have an old t-shirt to use as a waistcoat,

you can make one with brown paper.

• Make a Dream Jar using an old jar filled with some jelly and a

sweetie snake for your very own frightsome trogglehumper!

• You could also add a few lines to your BFG face if you want to make

him look a bit older, using brown facepaint or a brown eyeliner.

• Use a fishing net as a Dreamcatcher.

• To make a Dream Blower, use an A2 piece of yellow paper. Roll it

round on the diagonal and tape so it looks like a trumpet.

OUTFITTIPS

TO MAKE THE NOSE(optional)

1. Cut out one pointed section of an egg box. Paint the nose the same colour as the ears.

2. Using a pencil, push two holes through either side of the nose shape. Cut two holes where your child’s nostrils will be (so they can breathe!). Then push through some thin elastic and knot at either side to wear the nose.
