For Use with Two (2) Letourneau Power Systems AC Motors

Hoisting Capacity: 750,000 lbs. on 12, 1-3/8” dia. drilling lines.

POWER: Two (2) each Letourneau TT1150 AC Vector Motors; Continuous rating of the motor is 1,500 HP and intermittent rating for draw works duty is 2,200 HP. Supply voltage: 575 VAC, 3 phase, 40 Hz base speed, 6 pole, max speed of 2300 rpm. Includes 20 HP, 460 V, 60 Hz, 3 Ph., 40oC ambient electric blower motor with filter and IP44 exhaust cover.

Main Drum: Bare tube is 27” dia. x 56-1/4” long; Lebus shell provides grooving for 1-3/8” Dia. wire line. The drill line clamp is located in the off-driller’s side drum flange. Rubber turn-back rollers are provided on each drum cover.

Braking System: The draw works is designed to raise, lower and hold the hook load with the electric drive motors. The motors provide sufficient torque capacity to control rated loads at rated speeds without overheating during normal pipe and casing handling operations. Friction disc brakes are supplied for emergency stopping should the motor power fail. The emergency brakes should not be used to stop or hold the load in normal operation. The disc brake system consists of two (2) heavy duty solid discs manufactured from abrasion resistant steel, securely attached to its hoisting drum flange with high strength steel bolts, and four (4) spring applied, air released brake calipers with two (2) calipers on each disc.

Air pressure of 105 psi is sufficient to completely release the calipers. Two calipers will hold the maximum rated load capability of the draw works. This provides a safety factor of 2 for the disc braking system. This safety factor is in line with the requirements of internationally known certification authorities.

Operating levers connect the actuator to the brake shoes. This separates the actuator from the heat of the disc and brake shoes. An adjustable clevis on the actuator adjusts the clearance between the disc and the brake shoes. Proper adjustment compensates for brake shoe wear and maintains the capability of the caliper.

The shoes are guided by sliding surfaces to ensure they do not drag when released. Centering bolts are used to equalize or shift the air gap. When set, the shoes freely float on guide pins to ensure equal lining wear.

The actuators and the levers are connected via a toggle link which compensates for reduced spring forces

Main Dynamic Braking is accomplished by the AC Motors through dynamic braking resistors powered through the AC Drive System.

Emergency Braking is provided by caliper type disc brakes operating on two (2) air cooled discs. The brake discs are mounted on each end of the main drum. Four (4) caliper disc brakes are provided for emergency stopping, parking and holding of a suspended load. The calipers are spring applied and air released. The brake discs are air cooled and are not satisfactory for continuous dynamic duty. Brakes may be used as a crown and floor saver for emergency stopping during the hoisting and lowering operations. When the brakes are used for parking or suspending a load, the operator must assure that the air pressure in the calipers is reduced to zero (0) and the brakes are holding properly before removing power from the draw works motors. Emergency Lowering Controls: Manual release is provided for safety should the need arise to lower the load by manual methods. Manual release consists of an emergency air tank and manual pressure control valve which is mounted at the draw works. The emergency tank is charged from the main rig air system with protection to prevent loss of charge should the main system pressure fail. Motor Control and Energy Management System: To be provided by others. ENERGY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM is required to limit motor speed. Bearings: All bearings are spherical or cylindrical roller type. Lubrication: Drum shaft bearings are grease lubricated. The gearbox is lubricated with pressurized oil supplied by two (2) 10 HP, 460 volt, 3 phase, 60 Hz, electric motor driven gear pumps. One pump is the primary pump and the other pump is used as a backup. Water cooled lube oil heat exchanger mounted on main skid. Four (4) 1 KW, 460V, 3 phase immersion heaters mounted in gearbox sump to keep oil temperature at a minimum of 100oF. Draw works Frame and Skid: The draw works frame is constructed from fabricated steel plates. All bearings are mounted in bearing housings that are bolted to the main frame. Covers are provided over all rotating members. All draw works equipment is mounted on a single, heavy duty oilfield type skid. Lifting provisions, tailboard ends, are provided at each end of the skid Draw works Guards: Guards are provided around disc brakes to limit the amount of contamination of the discs and caliper assemblies. Drum Encoders: Two HS35 intrinsically safe encoders are included driven from output shaft of gearbox with additional room to mount 1 more HS35 encoder. Requires intrinsically safe barrier to be provided by control supplier. Design Temperature: Minimum design temperature is 32o F (0o C) per API 7K Paint: Draw works to be painted Le Tourneau Blue.

The LeTourneau Model DDTD-500 DIRECT DRIVE TOP DRIVE uses a drive system which connects the LeTourneau Power Systems AC drilling motor directly to the drill string, eliminating the gearbox and lubrication system and allowing the DIRECT DRIVE TOP DRIVE to provide greater performance, less maintenance and unbeatable reliability.

The Model DDTD-500 DIRECT DRIVE TOP DRIVE comes complete with integrated AC drilling motor, bail, counterbalance system, rotating pipe-handler, local cooling system, drill motor brake, gooseneck, wash pipe assembly (3" ID), and S-Pipe. The DIRECT DRIVE TOP DRIVE is fitted with marine industrial-grade junction boxes, control cable connectors, solenoid valves, pressure switches, cable glands and space heaters.

All exterior mounted equipment is designed for a marine application. The motor is rated for IP 44. The design operating temperature is -20 deg. C to +40 deg. C.

The Direct Drive Top Drive includes the following standard features:

LeTourneau through Shaft Design AC Drilling Motor Hi-density magnetic steel and windings that put more “copper in the slot,”

delivering up to twice the peak torque as conventional AC motors from zero rpm through rated rpm

Extensive, fully documented testing during every step of production ensures quality and reliability you can count on for the long term.

Greater copper and iron content provide more thermal mass for withstanding the high temperatures of continuous operation without diminishing component life

Embedded winding heaters and six slot-embedded resistive thermal devices (RTDs).

Motor Cooling Systems The high-efficiency cooling system is equipped with:

2 blower assemblies, each with two 5 HP blowers, and one 10 HP explosion-

proof 3-Phases, 460 volt, 60 Hz motor. Explosion-proof differential pressure switches to sense cooling air flow.

2 4 Independent Computer Based Touchscreen Systems Each can control and monitor

all the listed screens independent of each other allowing for redundancy and multiple screens to be viewed at once. These four (4) systems are ergonomically mounted to the drillers chair allowing for quick and easy access of the full features of the entire system.

3 1 The DDCS Driller' Control Station is built for use with the LeTourneau A.C.I.S

drilling system. An integrated control chair, consoles, and touch screens for visual control and monitoring in an ergonomically environment for the Driller. The drilling control cabin is custom manufactured to suit the requirements of the drill floor layout. Design parameters include placement of the cabin in order to provide the optimum view for well center and close proximity to drilling equipment.

Drilling shelter module is constructed of standard ASTM carbon steel. The base is constructed of 6” C-channel to support the weight of the cabin. The cabin is designed with four (4) top mounted lifting eyes for a four point lift. The driller’s cabin has one (1) entry/exit door for personnel access and (1) quick release escape hatch. The personnel door is lockable with panic hardware and door closers. The cabin is framed with vertical tubular steel supports Exterior walls, roof, and flooring are made with ¼” steel plate.

The paint system is a high grade marine paint system. The cabin is sandblasted to the appropriate anchor profile. The cabin is painted with a high quality epoxy primer. The top coat is a high gloss, white, urethane based paint.

Viewing Area:

The windows are laminated and tempered 1/2” safety glass. The windows are precut and fitted to frames to form weatherproof seals. Windshield wipers are provided for the glass windows. Ceiling panels have an external steel bumper guard cover for overhead

protection of personnel within the cabin.

Insulation: The walls and roof are insulated with 2” thick R-11 insulation. The inside of the Driller Cabin is finished with interior fire rated wall panels A raised floor is provided with removable floor tiles for access to wiring.

Components: Classification of the Drillers Cabin exterior shall be Class 1, Division 2, Groups C & D. Classification of the Drillers Cabin interior shall be general purpose. The following components are installed with the cabin.

4 1 Mud Monitoring System This system provides display of:

Pump Output in GPM and SPM Mud Pit and Trip Tank Levels Mud Temperature and Weight Riser Booster Pressure

The system allows manual entry of Mud Weight and Mud Viscosity data. The primary control resides in a hub that is suitable for mounting in a Class 1, Div. 2 location. Two Desktop pcs with flat screen color monitors are provided separately for monitoring by the Tool Pusher & Company Man. Gauges are provided for pump pressure, weight indicator, and tong torque.

5 1 Electronic Mud Pump Pulsation Dampener and Pressure Control

The Mud Pump Electronic Pulsation Controller module is a user friendly system that takes input from piston position sensors on each pump and calculates pump speed and phase difference between piston positions. With two (2) or three (3) Mud Pumps on line, the controller gives the same control input for the speed of the Mud Pumps until the speed reaches approximately 15% of the base speed. Then the module starts modulating the speed reference of the follower mud pumps to obtain synchronizing speed with the lead mu pump. At the same time, depending on a preset phase difference setting, it will provide a phase shift between the Mud Pump piston strokes; so that the overall effect will be like a single multi-piston Mud Pump. This will reduce the amount of ripple by at least 50% or more resulting in a greater continuous output pressure. The system also allows the Driller to set a pressure limit on the standpipe. If the pressure limit is reached, the system automatically throttles back the pumps to prevent the pop-off valve from opening.

6 1 Electro-Driller System

“Electro-Drill” is the most advanced and Integrated Automatic Drilling & Traveling Block Safety System. It utilizes PLC and Touch screen Control Technology with software designed to optimize drilling control and drilling safety, complete with reliable sensors and control interfaces. Normal steady drilling functions carried out by the Driller can be performed by the “Electro-Drill” with far more precision, consistency, and safety, due to the fact that all related drilling variables are integrated and interacting simultaneously.

The “Electro-Drill” System can be installed on gear driven Draw works and provides three (3) important functions related to drill penetration & block movement: Auto driller, Kinetic Energy Monitoring & Crown Block/Floor saving.

Like all LeTourneau POWER SYSTEMS equipment, the “Electro-Drill” is designed with high technology hardware and software. The hardware is very powerful that it can cope with different rig types and operation environment, while the software and settings can be changed to meet present and future drilling needs.

The “Electro-Drill” is designed to ensure continuous drill penetration by automatically controlling the WOB (Weight On Bit) and/or ROP (Rate Of Penetration).

Interface with the Driller is via a color touchscreen LCD (display) and includes an intuitive, easy to use HMI (Human Machine Interface). All aspects of usage and configuration of the “Electro-Drill” can be carried out at the display, as well as calibration of the various sensor interfaces. The main mode of operation of the “Electro-Drill” is “ROP Mode” where it automatically controls the selected Target ROP to ensure continuous drilling penetration. In unconsolidated formations, a secondary mode of the “Electro-Drill”, “WOB Mode”, allows a maximum drill bit weight to be selected by the driller, and thus irrespective of ROP. In all operational modes a maximum ROP and WOB limit can be set, etc. in order to prevent damage to the well or the equipment.

Block movement, and thus ROP, is detected via a Draw works Mounted Encoder, and the Total Weight/WOB is obtained from the Weight Indicator system or the hook-load sensor.

The “Electro-Drill” can achieve a smooth drilling penetration rate by the control outputs to the VFD motors, according to the settings and the sensor feed-back.

An Emergency Stop Button on the panel will engage the brakes to full-on at any time. The Auto driller On/Off switch allows the driller to release the “Electro-Drill” momentarily from control of the draw works.

7 1 Kinetic Energy Monitoring Functions

The system continuously monitors the position, downward speed and weight hanging on the block, thus the block's Kinetic Energy, and by comparing this to the braking torque/force available will effectively act as a floor saver. The Electric brake is initially applied by the system if it fails to be brought in by the Driller, and secondarily the mechanical brake will be applied to automatically maintain a safe speed and stop the elevator above the drill floor.

8 1 Crown Block Saver Function

Through upward motion of the traveling block, the “Electro-Drill” continuously monitors the position and upward speed of the block and will apply the brakes automatically, thus always ensuring the traveling block does not collide with the crown. Much in the same way as the downwards motion Kinetic Energy functions does, the brake is initially applied by the system to slow the block before the coming to a complete stop. This ensures that the wire lines do not 'jump' the pulleys.

9 1 System Configuration

The “Electro-Drill” System is configured generally with the following components:

(1). Touchscreen Display & Control units. The HMIs are high-brightness touchscreens. Menu select multi-functions and multi-tasking Display & Control Panel. The Display Screen delivers both Auto Driller functions and Kinetic Energy/Floor & Crown Block Saver functions by selecting the

appropriate menu. It is an intuitive and easy to use HMI (Human Machine Interface) Mimic with on-screen instructions, and enables the Driller or the technician to operate and configure the “Electro-Drill”, as well as to calibrate the various sensor interfaces.

(2). Control Electronics Unit. A PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) based unit which provides the interface to the brakes and the system sensors, and also the program for the entire system.

(3). Sensors and Control Interface package. Sensors for the “Electro-Drill” system consist of Block Position Sensors, Drum Movement Encoder, and Brake Pressure Sensor on the Draw works. A Weight Sensor is provided for the WOB and Kinetic Energy calculation, the rotating Speed and Torque Signals are obtained from the Drilling Instrumentation System or Sensors provided by the “Electro-Drill”.

SECTION IV. VFD POWER HOUSE I. VFD POWER HOUSE LeTourneau POWER SYSTEMS will provide One (1) VFD Power Control House with approximate dimensions of 55’ L x 10’ W x 11’ H. Material shall be carbon steel. Base of the house shall be constructed of channel perimeter with horizontal stringers to support a four point top lift. The power control house shall have Two (2) entry/exit doors, 3’ x 8’, for personnel and equipment access. Door construction shall be gasket and self-closing. The door shall be of locking type with panic hardware and door closers. The door components shall be of heavy-duty construction. Vertical supports shall be of standard tubular steel and shall meet all load requirements. Exterior walls, roof and flooring shall be made of ¼” plate. Welds shall be of full penetration on exterior steel exposed to the elements. Interior welds shall be staggered. The interior walls and ceiling are made of 16-gauge galvanneal metal, primed and painted white. The flooring shall be ¼” steel plate painted ANSI 61 Gray. The flooring shall be covered with insulated matting. Plug panel will be located in recessed compartment located on one side of the house. One (1) 42 circuit, 208Y/120Volt lighting panel will be mounted on an interior wall to provide power for lighting and other devices. Four (4) interior fluorescent, rapid-start ballast lighting fixture will be provided for aisle lighting. Two (2) emergency lights with battery back-up will also be included in the interior of the house. The two (2) air conditioning units will be wall mount type, rated at 10 tons each. The air conditioner will be controlled by a thermostat located inside the house. The supply for the air conditioner will be a 3-phase, 480V. The power control house will be sandblasted prior to painting. The exterior of the building will be painted with a vinyl wash coat primer and a top coat of polyurethane paint. Note: Special permit may be required for the transport of the House due to its dimensions. A special version of PNT software powers this system. This version is optimized for use on the drill floor with touch screen navigated computers.

Drill Data Hub (DDH) The Drill Data Hub (DDH) is a networked drilling data acquisition device designed specifically for the collection and transmission of drilling data in the drilling rig environment. This unit uses the extremely hearty and rig proven Petron single board design. The Data Hub also has an integral HMI that allows for local calibration and trouble-shooting without an auxiliary laptop computer or terminal. The DDH converts the signals from the sensors in the drill floor area to a system compatible data stream. The drilling parameters that can be displayed are Depth, Bit Location, ROP, Pipe Velocity, Rotary RPM and Torque, Top Drive RPM and Torque, Pump Pressure, Casing Pressure, Flow, Drilling Gas, Mud Wt. Out, Temperature Out and Trip Tank 1 & 2. Includes fiber optic to RS 485 modules and isolation barrier to tie into top drive for rotary and RPM signal.

Pump And Mud Data Hub The Pump and Mud Data Hub provides the same advantages in electronic and mechanical design as the Drilling Data Hub, but the software is designed to interface

The typical drilling parameters transmitted by this unit are Total Pump Output (GPM), SPM1, SPM2, SPM3, SPM4, Total Strokes1, Total Strokes2, Total Strokes3, Total Strokes4, Mud Pits 1-10, Trip Tanks 1-2, Mud Temperature IN, Mud Weight IN and Riser Boost Pressure. In addition this unit allows the manual entry of Mud Weight and Mud Viscosity data. The Pump and Mud Data Hub shall be suitable for installation in a Class I Division II area. Includes fiber optic to RS 485 modules.

Two (2) Y-Type Purges One (1) Uninterruptible Power Supply

It is designed to omit any foaming or steam that can be generated by heat of the mud in the tank. It has a short antenna which emits short pulses. These pulses are reflected back & are received as echoes. It outputs a 4-20mA signal which makes it intrinsically safe. The calibration of the senor is accomplished using a handheld device which uses HART technology. One (1) Trip Tank Sensor: This type of sensor uses radar technology in either C (6GHz) or K (26GHz) band to continuously monitor levels of mud in the tanks. It is designed to omit any foaming or steam that can be generated by heat of the mud in the tank. It has a short antenna which emits short pulses. One (1) Kit, Radar PVT Calibration Two (2) Pump Stroke Sensors (Proximity Type) One (1) Flow Out Sensor: Consists of a paddle assembly, which is inserted and attached to the flow line of the rig. The paddle is activated by the returning flow of mud. As the return flow raises the paddle, the shaft to which the paddle is attached also turns. On this shaft is mounted an asymmetrical cam, and as the cam is turned, the distance between the cam and the proximity sensor mounted on the housing is measured and converted into a signal which can be calibrated for the full length of travel of the paddle. Also mounted on this shaft is a counterweight which serves to bring the paddle back to a vertical position when there is no flow in the flow line, as well as provide resistance to flow in order to stabilize the action of the paddle. This entire assembly is attached to the flow line by utilizing a saddle made of angle iron, which is welded over the opening in the flow line through which the paddle is inserted. One (1) Drum Encoder, 8 Count: Encoder counts on turns of draw works drum. This action calculates the depth and rate of penetration, bit location, and peak velocity. One (1) Hook load/WOB:

Electronic Hook Load Sensor: A tension meter fastened onto the drill line, which suspends the traveling block from the crown block. As more weight is added to the drill string, or more pulling force is required, the drill line tension increases. This increase is sensed by a load cell mounted on the hook load sensor and the resulting electrical signal is transmitted to the driller's console for processing and displayed as WOB and Hook load. HYDRAULIC POWER UNIT

One (1) cameron air and electric motor driven automatic pump and accumulator unit to include the following major components unitized and mounted on an oilfield skid of heavy duty welded steel construction

One (1) (350) fluid reservoir complete with filler neck, drain plug, splash proof air vent, internal baffles, electric low level switch, sight glass gauge and one large inspection port.

Twenty-eight (28) (11 gallon) gross capacity (3000 psi) wp hydro-pneumatic accumulators, nitrogen

Charged bladder type. The bop control unit skid will be constructed of carbon steel and painted in

accordance with cameron approved paint specification. All welds will be continuous to prevent ingress of salt laden moisture and minimizing internal corrosion of the structural steel members. Design of the accumulator banks are divided into independent rows. The accumulator system is so designed that the loss of an individual accumulator or bank does not result in the loss of more than approximately twenty-five percent of the total accumulator system capacity per api 16d. Each accumulator bank is complete with an isolation valve, a drain valve to tank, a relief valve and pressure gauge.

One (1) electric motor driven triplex pump assembly complete with automatic pressure switch and high pressure safety relief valve. Pump provides up to (11.0 gpm) at bar (3000 psi) output pressure. Explosion proof motor class 1 div 1 30 hp, 3ph 460v/50hz.

Three (3) air motor driven 60:1 ratio plunger pump with self-adjusting packing, operated double acting pumps to deliver approximate 4.0 GPM per

assembly. All pumps together deliver approx. 3000 PSI maximum output pressure with a 75 PSI air supply.

Two (2) pressure relief valves set at 3,300 PSI. The pressure relief valves prevent over pressurization of the accumulators and pump system and are self-resetting.

One (1) air supply manifolds to include air regulator, lubricator, filter/separator, shutoff valve, bypass valve and full flow automatic pressure switch assemblies which allows full flow to the air pump up to desired shutoff pressure.

One (1) control manifold consisting of the following major components:

1. One (1) heavy-duty structural steel mounting frame mounted on top of fluid reservoir.

All necessary gauges, check valves, bleed valves, safety valves, fittings and connections for proper operation.

All high pressure tubing (1" size) will be astm a106 grade b, seamless carbon steel or equivalent with type astm a105, 3.000 psi, forged fittings.

All high pressure tubing (6 mm, 10 mm, or 16 mm od) will be astm a269, type 316 solution annealed stainless steel or equivalent with tubing fittings type 316 stainless steel of the twin ferrule type. All air pressure tubing (1" size) will be seamless carbon steel zinc plated with forged carbon steel zinc plated fittings.
