All rights reserved - Printed in Italy PGT Photonics n DTL Series High Power Full C-Band or L-Band tunable laser source Dynamically Tunable Laser Pirelli Dynamically Tunable Laser (DTL) is a continuous wave (CW) external cavity laser for advanced DWDM optical network systems. Housed in a hermetically-sealed 26-pin-butterfly package, DTL is designed to tune over the entire C-band or L-band of an ITU-T 50 GHz channel grid. The electrical tuning control guarantees fast switching time and high spectral purity and wavelength accuracy. The laser, fully Telcordia GR-468-CORE qualified, does not require moving parts to achieve tunability. The conceptual block scheme of the tunable laser includes a conventional Fabry-Perot laser chip, voltage-controlled tunable mirror and a temperature-stability system. Pirelli DTL is designed to provide fast switching over a 50 GHz channel grid. No wavelength locker is needed to achieve frequency stability, and the laser is compatible with 25 GHz DWDM channel spacing.

Dynamically Tunable Laser

Pirelli DTL calibration procedure,as the active control loop,involves only three, independent,control parameters.This makes the automatic searchalgorithm for the control matrixparticularly fast and reliable.The entire calibration proceduretakes few minutes and it is fullyautomatic.
