DWDM Solution for G.653 Fiber (DSF)DWDM Solution for G.653 Fiber (DSF)

G.653 fiber is dispersion-shifted fiber (DSF)

With zero dispersion at the point of 1550nm, normally perfectly

supports the transmission of single channel up to 10G signals

When used for DWDM system, it easily leads to FWM (Four-wave

Mixing) and other nonlinearity effects which greatly degrade the

system performance.


SuperWDM technology is better than NRZ technology in the

tolerance of FWM.

Using SuperWDM together with FEC, the input power can be much

higher, and the optical signal can reach up to 500km without electrical

regenerator.

Wavelength spacing is not even as for NDSF fiber. 8-wavelength

or 12-wavelength transmission supported
