Egg Putty

Here's how!Ingredients needed for each child:1 tablespoon of glue 2 tablespoons cornstarch1/2 teaspoon water 1/2 teaspoon toothpaste1 drops food coloring

Set these items up in an assembly line fashion using the cards on the next page.Place the correct sized spoon with each item (place 2 spoons with the corn starch, 1 with the glue, etc.) OR place one spoon near each ingredient and use the picture cards I’ve created on the following page to help instruct the children!

The children put these items in a small bowl and mix, mold and place in a plastic egg.Let harden! Our preschoolers loved playing egg hunt with their sculptures in their eggs. They printed their names on the outsides of the eggs.

This smells great! Depending upon how wet it is, it can dry within 30 minutes or could take all day! When it does dry, it will be as hard as a rock!

The following images are from the calendar pieces.

You can use these in several ways:

• Print and laminate several pages for the children to use to create patterns. Either you begin a pattern using 4-5 of these cards and encourage the children to continue the same pattern. Or, have the children create their own patterns using the cards.

• Print and laminate several pages for the children to use as a matching/memory game.

Song Card & Song PosterHow to use:• Print and laminate the song card below (it is 5” X 3”).• Place in a can or box with other cards of songs your children

love!• In transitional times (waiting to go outside or wash hands,

etc.), pull out your song box or song can (I use a decorated coffee can!).

• Shuffle the cards in your hands saying “Shuffle, shuffle, shuffle” and your children yell “STOP”!

• When they yell stop, whichever card is on top is the one you sing! The kids LOVE this!

Each month you’ll receive one of these cards that correspond with the song poster for the month to add to your Song Card Collection! On the next page, you’ll find the Song Poster! Print and laminate for use over the years!

Do the Bunny Hop!

This is more of a chant than a song, though you may find a tune for it online. Here is how to do the Bunny Hop:

This is typically done with everyone standing in a line placing their hands on the shoulder of the person in front of them.PLEASE Note: Most preschoolers can NOT do it this way without bumping into each other and becoming frustrated or hurt.

Just have them do this in a large space but not in a line or row.

You do the bunny hop!(Move right leg out to the right and then back to the middle.

Do this twice while staying in place)

You do the bunny hop! (Move left leg out to the left and back twice to the middle.

Do this twice while staying in place)

You do the bunny hop, (Hop backwards one hop)

And you hop hop hop! (Hop forward each time you say hop!).
