Editing process To edit my clips I used the iMovie software in apple mac, because it had many features and tool to make the opening looks very professional. Firstly, I made folder in the media folder to add all my clips that I shot using the cannon hdd video camera. After uploading all my clips I arranged all the clips in the order I wanted it in, so that I all I had to do was to add the appropriate effects and transitions into the clips. Editing Video To edit a clip or an image you have I had to Double click the clip, which will select it then you are able to drag it over to your timeline. Similarly, you can copy and paste the clips. For many of my videos I like to remove background noise from the start. My personal choice being the addition of music to videos.to detach the audio I had to Right click on a clip and select Detach Audio, this will show the audio separately underneath the video. You can then just select the audio clip and delete it. This was very help full because when I add my music that I made using the garage band to the clips, the sound from the clips won’t distract the music. Ken Burns Effect Some of the clips I took looked very boring with any camera movements there for I used the Ken Burns Effect. This gives an additional element helping the flow between video content and stills. The Ken Burns effect is the zooming in or out on an image. You can resize these boxes and change the angle in which thecameramoves. By clicking thespacebaryou'll be able to see whether you have configured the effect correctly. The key burns made my dull clips more interesting by adding a movement to the clips. That picture shows that I used the key burns in my clip for a movement from left to right, to get an effect of a pan shot. TransitionsI used some transition sin my opening to add to the flow to my movie and to reduce any awkward breaks between the clips. These can be automatically added within the Start New Projectphase but they'll create a bigger dilemma later on. To add transitions manually you need to visit the group of five buttons on the right hand side and select the fourth button from the left. Here there are more than fifteen different variations. To preview these, hover your mouse over the transition. Simply dragging the transition into the middle of two pieces of media will complete the process. As you can see I used the dissolve transition at the end of my movie to get a graphic match from a sick to a river. This gives the impression as the antagonist is washing way his sins by washing his painted face off and then dissolves to the river scene as a fresh begging contrasting the dark atmosphere of the antagonist. Adding TitlesI had to use the tittle to add the names of the actors and my production company as they are great for introducing, concluding or visually narrating a movie. Similar to transitions you need to use your five button toolbox in the middle bar and this time click on theT. Here you have a large selection of different titles with different effects. After dragging your title into its place a new box will appear which allows you to pick the colour of the background. The final step is entering your text. This interface will appear once the background has been selected. I was disappointed with the amount of font styles it had as it was very limited and did not had any fonts that matches the theme of my opening. Blue green screen editingI also used the blue screen editing which can be only used if you turn of the advanced tool selection in the preference. Blue screens are used to superimpose videos recorded separately. Whichever background you have of the two options, it is a great trick to help enhance your movies when using iMovie.

I also the blue screen editing to show the Christian symbol on top of the antagonist face to show that the antagonist have some link with the Christianity like the villain in se7en. This is very cool editing technique and was new for me as I did not knew about this last year when I was editing my horror trailer. IMovie sounds i also used some of the sounds from the I movie to add some effects to the clips, for example, I used a boom sound when the tittle of my movie appear to attract the audience to notice the tittle and I wanted the boom sound to sync in with the clip because the tittle looks like as the mask of the antagonist is falling off, so I wanted the boom to sound as like a bang for the mask to fall off.

These are all editing techniques that I added to my opening to make it look professional and appealing to my target audience. The biggest challenge for me to was to make it look like an opening of the movie rather than a trailer. Therefore, I had to restrict myself from adding lot of transitions, and texts. It was a big jump from GCSE to a level, so it was hard for me to get over the trailer project we made in GCSE to an opening sequence for a film in a level. However, everything turned out well and we managed to make a pretty good looking, opening that appeal to our genre and our audience.
