EDUCATIONAL PRINCIPLES THAT ALL TEACHERS SHOULD ANALYZE In my years as a Teacher, whereby daily experience with my students, colleagues and representatives, I have had the opportunity to think and ask me questions that maybe many other teachers, at some point in their career¸ have also been doing themselves. The answers that I have gotten, could easily be considered as educational principles; being understood these as a reflection of the essential characteristics of a system, which users assume and without which they cannot work, understand or use the system; in this case, the system would be education. In that vein, a teacher cannot carry out effectively their work if he or she has not stopped to think “what is my intention as a teacher?” Many would answer: teach, impart knowledge, to plan interesting activities, etc. However, the true intention of the educator is that students learn; contents and activities are only means to achieve it and therefore are expendable and they change when the student and / or the situation warrant. It is also common to hear teachers phrases such as "that kid doesn´t learn because he won’t" or worse, "I can ´t do anything if he doesn’t want to learn". In this case I asked myself what can I do to make that my student want to learn? And I understood that the teacher influences the decision of learn of the student, and therefore, also the decision of not learn; that is why the teacher must find a way to do that their student accept with pleasantness the class that is offered.

EDUCATIONAL PRINCIPLES THAT ALL TEACHERS SHOULD ANALYZE

In my years as a Teacher, whereby daily experience with my students, colleagues and representatives, I have had the opportunity to think and ask me questions that maybe many other teachers, at some point in their career have also been doing themselves. The answers that I have gotten, could easily be considered as educational principles; being understood these as a reflection of the essential characteristics of a system, which users assume and without which they cannot work, understand or use the system; in this case, the system would be education.

In that vein, a teacher cannot carry out effectively their work if he or she has not stopped to think what is my intention as a teacher? Many would answer: teach, impart knowledge, to plan interesting activities, etc. However, the true intention of the educator is that students learn; contents and activities are only means to achieve it and therefore are expendable and they change when the student and / or the situation warrant.

It is also common to hear teachers phrases such as "that kid doesnt learn because he wont" or worse, "I cant do anything if he doesnt want to learn". In this case I asked myself what can I do to make that my student want to learn? And I understood that the teacher influences the decision of learn of the student, and therefore, also the decision of not learn; that is why the teacher must find a way to do that their student accept with pleasantness the class that is offered.

Finally, the truth is that all students want to learn. The students go to school with the strong desire of learn from the world around him, of discovering these world and feel how it affects him (learning). He is waiting that his teacher teaches him.
