There are a lot of challenges facing Nigeria because of the lack of money. This makes it difficult for good quality education that is empowering, has breadth and the capability of bringing about sustainable transformation to be provided in a child’s educational status

Children are a part of the future; allowing them the opportunity to be inquisitive in class and explore their ideas by funding their education may benefit the world some day

Need in Community…

By attending school, children can acquire the confidence and knowledge to better access and make use of information that can improve their lives.

The dignity and self-confidence gained can help them to challenge discriminatory and biased gender roles and relations.

Education can provide girls with the knowledge and confidence needed to help reduce maternal and child mortality, violence and HIV/AIDS transmission.

Good quality education is essential for enabling countries to achieve the level of economic growth required to tackle poverty and make further development a reality

Taking time to explicate a single student’s intention with the education they may receive helps us choose those who are worthy of the grant

Qualities such as dissenting during class debates allows a student to be challenged by the class, teachers, and themselves.

Those who receive grants will be pushed to exceed in academics.

They must show a plethora amount of interest in educational studies as well as social and political activism.

By reading and comprehending daily world news they can began to get a feel for things they can change.

Conceptualizing these ideas will lead to a child who can make the difference

Critical Thinking, Reading, & Action

The Shuttlewoth Foundation to take into consideration the future of tomorrow and the common knowledge of a third world county in need of a better education system for those who thrive and were born into unfortunate circumstances.

Now I ask…

Page 11: Eduwatch, Andrea Olivas

“We fund individuals, as part of a Fellowship programme. The programme does not have strictly defined areas of funding as we have found this restrictive as people do not always fit into boxes.

Previous successful applications have come from individuals working in the following areas:

-Communication and Analytical Skills in Education

-Intellectual Property Rights

-Open and Collaborative Educational Resources

-Open Philanthropy

-Open Science

We also partner with other organizations to support specific fellowships.”

Your funding may help a child…

Page 12: Eduwatch, Andrea Olivas

With your help we can provide, prepare, and promote the use of critical thinking, reading, and action in order to allow a student to become an innovator for the world.

Consider everything…

Thank you,Andrea OlivasExecutive Director
