After the successful First EFI Policy Conference in Paris in 2008 which
brought in more than 350 Parliamentarians from 42 countries across the

• Intel Plant - Kiriat Gat: In 1999 Intel opened its 1.6 Billion dollar plant manufacturingMicro Processors and employed about 2,000 people. Recently, Intel completed anothermanufacturing plant in the Kiryat Gat South Industrial zone. The cost of this plant is anastounding 3.6 Billion dollars. It will employ thousands of more workers.

• ARO - Volcani Institute for Agriculture research – Beit Dagan: The Agricultural ResearchOrganization (ARO), the research arm of the Ministry of Agriculture and RuralDevelopment, is responsible for most of the agricultural research conducted in Israel. Thisresearch aims to improve existing agricultural production systems and to introduce newproducts, processes and equipment, thereby ensuring the basis of Israel's future agriculture.
The ARO has an extensive research infrastructure that supports both basic and applied research, conductedby more than 200 Ph.D. scientists and 300 engineers and technicians. These workers are organized into sixinstitutes located on the main campus at Bet Dagan, and in two regional research centers in the north andsouth of the country. The Institute of Plant Sciences, located in Beit Dagan, is Israel's largest researchorganization in the broad fields of plant biology, agro-technology, and agro-environmental issues.
• AqWise - Wise Water Technologies Ltd, Yavne - is a world leader in the development andimplementation of innovative wastewater treatment technologies. AqWise offers a widerange of solutions, covering a broad field of applications and needs. The processes providesolutions for municipal, industrial and agricultural wastewater treatment requirements.AqWise demonstrates an intelligent and responsible approach to water environment.

EUROPEAN FRIENDS OF ISRAELEFI was created in 2006 by Members of the EuropeanParliament as well as Members of NationalParliaments from all across Europe. It is atransnational, politically independent association ofmore than 1000 Parliamentarians and Policy makersfrom all the countries on the European continent,headquartered in Brussels, which aims at fosteringunderstanding through dialogue and at deepeningrelations between Europe and Israel. EFI is one of thelargest organization of its kind.

EFI GALA LAUNCH EVENTEuropean Friends of Israel was formally launchedon September 13, 2006 by 300 MEPs, MKs,distinguished guests and lay leaders. In two shortyears, it has successfully brought togetherpoliticians and activists from all backgrounds forthe express purpose of advancing the EU’srelationship with Israel.
