EIFS – exterior insulation and finishing system

Unglazed stoneware and fine stoneware tiles from Zahna meet the requirements of DIN 14411 BIb and BIa. The tiles also meet the requirements of DIN 18515 and are therefore approved for facade design on exterior insulating and finishing systems.The “Kerasiegel” tile surface finish ensures that it is particularly resistant to dirt. Even graffiti can be removed easily.Standard for the facade system is the complete product range from the Architektur 11 collection with the formats 10x10, 15x15, 20x20, 25x25 and 30x30 cm and two hexagonal formats.However, the greatest strength of ZAHNA FLIESEN GmbH lies in the comparatively small volumes of individual tile surfaces and special colours and formats produced for individual orders.

Zahna Fliesen GmbH has developed the new unglazed fine stoneware tile programme called „Architektur 11“ for buil-ding projects based on modern architecture. This uniform 11mm-thick format system encompasses the tile sizes 10x10, 15x15, 20x20, 25x25, 30x30 and 40x40 as well as 10x20 cm, all of which can be modularly combined with one another. As a highlight, a hexagonal tile with a 10/11.5 cm format completes this range.

The ZAHNA Fliesen GmbH product range encompasses numerous different surfaces with anti-slip properties from R9V0 to R13V10. Tiles are also available in anti-slip classes A, B and C for wet, barefoot areas. The Architektur 11 range is available in the surface finishes illustrated below. Please refer to our industrial catalogue for further industrial surface finishes.

We can manufacture unglazed fine stoneware tiles with a ceramic surface finish on request. The finish is applied to the ceramic fragments in an inseparable manner during the firing process.

The advantages of the surface finish:– ceramic sealing of the tile’s surface– no waterproofing necessary after installation– reduced soiling– easy to clean– elegant silk-matt lustre– more intensive colour effect

Environmental awareness and sustainability

The Z-Spacer (Zahnaer-Spacer) is a profi le formed at regular intervals on the fl anks of ZAHNA tiles. This ensures speedy installation with a defi ned joint width, particularly during dry installation of hexagon and High Traffi c tiles. The special design of the Z-Spacers means that the joint gap is contin-uously open, thus permitting easy fi lling of the entire joint. A connection between the mortar bed and joint com-pound is thus ensured, especially during vibratory installation and when preparing elec trically-conductive fl ooring. The Z-Spacer also prevents chipping along the tile surface during vibratory instal-lation. Combined with the dimensional accuracy of our products, the Z spacer ensures a uniformly narrow gap pattern with a fi xed joint – a major advantage when preparing a fl oor that complies with relevant quality standards.
