    Recently established at ICTC with the following goals :

    Built on past experience with projects such as Avicenna and Rufo.

    Raise the awareness of E-learning concept and its need to improveeducation.

    Develop, publish and advertize high quality e-courses

    Provide university staff with training, development and supportincorporating technology in learning.

    Research and studies in this field , including monitoring the use oftechnology in learning and its impact on students and hopefullyacademic staff.

    Students Skills are good but not enough, thus need training

    Students are not fully aware of QOU products (by: MPC, Avicenna,Multimedia Dep. )

    Students need to own PCs with internet serviceo Students use computers and Internet; still not available at home

    because of (mostly) financial issues.o Sometimes poor internet services.

    Most students enrolled in programs other than the IT program, donot give attention to such e-courses, due to cultural and skillsissues. ( supervisor guidance is needed here )

    Lack of publicity and incentives.

    Online and Online Hybrid courses are positive options forstudents.Students success in online courses may require adjustments intheir study habits and learning preferences.

    Students are ready and eager to use e-learning;Blended learning is the choice of most students

    With the existing core Infrastructure; e-learning services can befurther improved.

    RecommendationsRecommendations

    Provide additional training for students to improve their skills;

    MPC & Multimedia products should be further publicized, and producedaccording to special standards.

    Collaborate with companies, or related organizations, to help students

    afford needed facilities and equipment (PCs, Internet Service,) .An e-learning strategy is needed with full cooperation of all universitybodies to implement e-learning across all programs.

    Future PlanFuture Plan EE-- learning Unitlearning Unit

    Expand study to include academic staff .Provide a proposal to the university administration to help setup an e-learningstrategy .

    Part of the proposal shall include a monitoring body to follow up and evaluate the

    implementation of e-learning .Recently , the unit was given the task of writing a book about e-learning .

    Make use of the continuous improvement at QOU IT infrastructure for thebenefits of students and staff.
