ignite your PASSION
Is to offer a high quality, stimulating and comprehensive approach to
continuing education. To provide educational opportunities in all
aspects of dentistry with concentration on total case management
and comprehensive treatment planning. The group will strive to
provide its members with a broader perspective and understanding of
comprehensive care and to offer support from their peers to be able
to incorporate advanced concepts and treatments into their practices.
Efforts will be directed towards learning from each other, and the
diversity of the group will stimulate education in all facets of
treatment planning.
1. To make every one in the group better at treatment planning
2. To improve the level of dentistry over time
3. To provide a source for the state-of-the-art by developing didactic and clinical sessions in dentistry to familiarize participants
not only with what is possible, but also with what is becoming the most acceptable choice of treatment
4. To establish a resource center so that all members can call on each other for advice
5. To generate an interest in learning by treatment planning other dentists’ cases and following up and critiquing those cases
throughout the treatment
6. To improve the members practice by increasing the number and complexity of cases to be restored
“The key to the success of the Seattle
Study Club network is that it fosters
relationships and involves dentists in
interactive learning activities. Meet-
ings include lectures by emphasis is
placed on clinical treatment planning
sessions. I recently attended one of
these sessions and I was impressed by
the high degree of involvement
evident among the members. The
format of these sessions varies, but
for this particular meeting a number
of doctors presented challenging
cases that had not been treated.
There was a spirited discussion
among the group regarding various
treatment options.”

2011 Membership Directory
Dear Members,
Thank you for another great year! Your outstanding participation and enthusiasm
continually drives our program to success every year, and 2011-2012 looks to be no
different.
The field of dentistry is evolutionary, with new treatment options, advanced
technology, and continuous efforts by dentists to provide the upmost quality care
for patients. Professional development organizations, like Elite Dental Group,
provide you with the tools and knowledge you need to grow your practice and stay
abreast of these new developments in the field of dentistry. On account of our
diverse backgrounds, each meeting is geared toward learning from each other,
which is ultimately what enhances our ability to make great strides in the dentistry
field.
New treatment techniques will be the central topics to our meetings with a focus on
diagnosis and treatment planning. This year we have a series of meetings prepared
for our members that will be sure to enlighten and educate. We are kicking off the
series with a valuable meeting about utilizing the front desk staff in an effective way
to increase patient traffic in your office. These “gate-keepers” serve a more impor-
tant role than most realize. Another non-clinical program will enhance our leader-
ship skills to obtain maximum results from our office staff. This year we are also
excited to have one of our own members educate us on the use of oral probiotics
for the treatment of dental disease. We will continue to share ideas and experiences
that will enhance our practices. You can expect to learn from renowned speakers on
treatment planning, full arch restorative, and implant reconstruction. We will also
participate in clinical treatment planning sessions, problem-solving workshops,
hands-on demonstrations and panel discussions. These sessions will challenge and
engage you, allowing you further growth in your practice.
Please join me in another outstanding year of synergy as we ignite your passion!
Scott Frank, DDS
Introduction
The New Patient Generation
The front desk staff at a doctor's office compares directly to the pearly
white smile of a human mouth. It is the smile’s job to help someone look
presentable, happy, and collected, even if the interior feels like a bit of a
tooth ache - a reason that would cause a patient to visit a dentist. The
same job description can be found for the front line staff of a dentist’s
office. They are the first to draw patients into a warm and welcoming
environment that most people, in actuality, fear. Your front line is the first
to greet patients, answer phones and answer any questions that patients
may have. This inevitably makes the visit more enjoyable. This session is
dedicated to generating ideas on how to best utilize your front desk
employees, and how to equate profits (lost and gained) based on their
interactions with patients, both existing and prospective. From phone
skills to simple smiles, the skills learned during this session of front desk
practices have not only helped to double new patients, but also
enhanced employee morale and overall patient satisfaction.

New Patient Generation-
Historically, sophisticated comprehensive diagnosis and treatment planning was
simply a compilation of many “regional” diagnoses, with no spotlight on the “global”
concern of placing the teeth in the correct position in the face. Contemporary care
requires practitioners to treat the patient to not only an ideal functional occlusion
but also to a facially aesthetic conclusion. Restorative dentists have never been
taught how to think globally and integrate specialty care into a complex plan. In the
traditional scenario, there is a great potential for the dentist to become
overwhelmed. The dentist literally does not know where to start.
Dr. Robbins will present five CORE questions that direct the interdisciplinary team to
a “global” diagnosis. Following a medical model, the diagnosis leads to an interdisci-
plinary treatment plan. This course is uniquely designed for the entire team, includ-
ing the restorative dentist, the periodontist, the orthodontist, the oral and
maxillofacial surgeon and the laboratory technician. Learn this systematic approach
for the comprehensive diagnosis of all dental patients.

The use of oral probiotics and prebiotics show great promise for the
treatment and/or pre-treatment of oral pathologies by modifying the
oral biofilm. Dr. Cannon, an expert in pediatric dentistry, will facilitate
discussion around the rationale, supporting research and the treatment
protocol for the use of such oral probiotics. Dr. Cannon is a graduate of
Northwestern University and is an associate professor in the Department
of Surgery, Division of Dentistry at Northwestern University Medical
School. He is also an attending physician at Children's Memorial Hospital,
and is actively involved in the specialty training of Pediatric Dentists at
the Children’s Memorial Medical Center.

Very few dentists would love to wear a removable dental prosthesis as a treatment modality,
even as a short-term solution. However, fewer have yet to set in motion a protocol for
predictable immediate replacement of teeth with fixed restorations immediately after
surgery.
This seminar will illustrate key concepts regarding planning and fabrication of restorations for
the fully edentulous patient, both removable and fixed. Elements of important communica-
tion with the surgeon will be emphasized in order to achieve predictable results.
Dr. Bedard obtained his DMD degree from the Universite de Montreal in 1993. He then
completed a GPR residency at Peninsula Hospital Center in New York, a residency in Prosth-
odontics at the Kansas City V.A. Medical Center, and a fellowship in Maxillofacial Prosthetics
at the University of Chicago, after which he joined the faculty and taught for four years. Since
relocating in 2001, Dr. Bedard limits his full-time practice in Englewood, Colorado, to
implant-retained & aesthetic, reconstructive dental and maxillofacial restorations. He is the

This interactive session will include case study presentations and group discussion. Partici-
pants will design patient treatment plans based on provided patient information and
summary of concerns. Groups will present proposed treatment, alternatives and “hindsight
concerns” to session participants and walk away from this activity with never-before-
considered treatment options and a renewed confidence as a result of peer discussion and
dynamic group activity. Dr. Raigrodski holds both a Bachelor’s of Medical Science and a
D.M.D from the Hebrew University School of Dental Medicine in Israel. He also holds an M.S.
and a certificate in Prosthodontics from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry. Dr.
Raigrodski is a Professor and the Director of Graduate Prosthodontics, involved in teaching,
