LASER ALIGNMENTSEMHA Technisch Bureau is one of the most complete

and leading companies in the Netherlands offering

a full-range of alignment services. We are known

as complete solution provider since we can do

measurements, alignment, fastening, problem-solving,

engineering and reporting.

We are able to maintain our leading position by constantly

investing in the most advanced laser - and measuring

equipment. Even more important is our team of highly

skilled, specialized technicians, at your service to achieve

optimal results!

Good installation and alignment of rotating machinery

is crucial to achieve an optimum performance with

minimal costs. Misalignment will cause problems such as

vibration, bearing and coupling failure and mechanical

wear to different parts. A perfect alignment of your

rotating equipment will result in maximum installation

effi ciency, low maintenance frequency and costs, less

energy consumption and reduction of vibrations and

wear.

For the shipbuilding industry we can also perform

the alignment of propeller shaft and gearbox, the

alignment of bearing journals in relation to stern tube,

measure the fl atness of a slewing ring bearing and

many more.

GEOMETRICAL MEASUREMENTS

The engineers from EMHA Technisch Bureau are

equipped with advanced 3D metrology and laser tracking

tools. With these tools we are able to do much more than

equipment alignment.

We carry out 3D measurements quickly and accurately

with use of the newest technologies. Our service techni-

cians have years of experience in measurement in ship-

ping Industry. They can determine anchor bolt positions,

monitor strategic control points, and hence even do re-

verse engineering of complete installations. All with the

highest degree of accuracy available.

Additionally, our team is able to assist with the inspection

of ship parts and components and with installation of

these components. Furthermore, laser scanning obtains

the as-build condition of the ship and allows for easier

repair or future restoration.

VIBRATION MEASUREMENTS

SOME VERY COMMON PROBLEMS THAT WE CAN DETECT USING OUR VIBRATION MEASUREMENT SYSTEM: Misalignments Disparity / Offset Damage to machine bearings Worn parts such as gears, belts, etc. Poor lubrication Overloading Clutch design Corrosion and cracks Resonance problems

Page 15: EMHA Marine & Offshore

VIBRATION MEASUREMENTS With our machinery vibration measurement service we

are able to provide a reliable indication of the condition

of rotating machinery, while in operation.

Vibration measurement data will help to detect problems

that might be developing. By monitoring the condition

of machinery, most developing problems can be detected

even before they arise. Detecting defects in such an early

stage will prevent further damage and minimize machine

downtime. The required repair will be simpler, faster, and

cheaper.

Since almost any error or divergence in the machine

sources a different level of abnormal vibration, our

specialists are able to translate the measurement data to

determine the actual, specifi c problem in a machine.

Furthermore, our measurement data can also be used

to prevent unnecessary maintenance, fi nd causes of

production quality problems, stop discomfort and even

avoid a bad company image.

Vibration data taken on a particular physical point and

collected regularly over a period of time (Trending)

supports us to build-up a history of the installation and

it’s waveform characteristics so changes can be detected,

accurate physical explanations can be assigned and

corrective actions taken accordingly.

CHOCKFASTEPOXY PRODUCTS

Specialized maritime epoxy compounds. With Chockfast epoxy products, reliability is guaranteed on all

types of vessels, offshore platforms, mooring buoys, oceanographic

equipment, crane rails and other marine applications.

EMHA delivers and uses proven products from the organization

that developed Chockfast Orange, the reliable epoxy chocking

system used to install more than 45.000 main propulsion engines

plus auxiliaries over a 40 year period.

CHOCKFAST EPOXIES: Chockfast Orange (chocking compound) Chockfast Gray (thin pour grout) Phillybond Orange (flexible sealant) Phillymastic TG-7b (LNG/LPG epoxy) Phillyclad 1775 (shaft coating) Repair Compound (fairing paste)

Page 17: EMHA Marine & Offshore

CHOCKFAST ORANGE (PR-610TCF)Is a specially formulated 100% solids, two component inert filled casting compound developed for use as a chocking or grouting material. CHOCKFAST is designed to withstand severe marine and industrial environments involving a high degree of both physical and thermal shock. The compound is non-shrinking and has very high impact and compressive strength.

CHOCKFAST GRAY (PR-610FR)Is a specially formulated 100% solids, two component, inert filled compound developed for use in chocking non-precisely aligned equipment or in setting anchor bolts in concrete.

PHILLYBOND ORANGE Is a two component, epoxy paste, developed for sealing exposed edges of CHOCKFAST in stern tube applications. It is resistant to sea water and lubricating oils. It has good adhesive strength and flexibility over a wide temperature range.

PHILLYCLAD 1775/620TS Is an excellent general purpose, nontoxic laminating resin system for FRP application requiring rapid and thorough wet out. Excellent for use as a thin laminate protective coating over steel or other materials and in combination with glassfiber tape. PHILLYCLAD 1775 is the best solution for Propeller shaft coating.

PHILLYMASTIC TG-7B Is a two-component, load-bearing, epoxy mastic specifically developed for LNG/LPG tank or container system installations where shimming or void-filling of supporting components is required.

REPAIR COMPOUND Is a two component epoxy paste developed specifically for filling, smoothing and fairing applications on metals, plastics (FRP), wood or masonry. The smooth consistency and excellent non sagging properties of Repair Compound make it unexcelled for levelling rough or pitted plating, forming fillets and smoothing weld seams.

MULTIMETALHIGHTECH POLYMERS

For more than 30 years EMHA is performing maintenance on metals and alloys with MultiMetall materials. These polymer metallic materials are professionally equipped to withstand the most diffi cult conditions and are suitable for repairs, protection and reconstruction.

Lloyds Register of Shipping certifi cate 301954 gives

MultiMetall the qualifi cation “good to exceptionally

good”. MultiMetall is already applied successful on dry,

dirty, oily or under water lying repair areas and has

superior mechanical physical data to withstand constant

load. The continuous compressive strength under load

can be more than 160 MPa and MultiMetall is diffi cult

to damage when attacked by acids, alkaline solutions,

solvents, salts, gasses and other chemicals.

We have massive experience in marine repairs.

Some examples: ¬ Repair of marine engine cylinder heads

¬ Sealing of cracked leaky welding seams at crankcase of a ship diesel

¬ Elimination of damages at a vessel’s propeller caused by cavitation

¬ Repair of the packing surface of an adjustable propeller

¬ Repair of cylinder liners

¬ Repair of cracks and apertures on a turbocharger

¬ Repair of cracked housing of a hydraulic pump in a steering gear

Page 20: EMHA Marine & Offshore

MECHANICAL CHOCKS

EMHA Technisch Bureau delivers adjustable, self-levelling and reusable mounting chocks that can be used to mount rotating equipment. These mechanical chocks are a blend of cutting edge engineering and years of experience to produce a strong, stiff and elegant device to end machinery soft-foot.

Page 21: EMHA Marine & Offshore

Our mechanical chocks are manufactured with a special thread type

called buttress thread. Unlike common thread types used in mechanical

engineering, buttress thread has an a-symmetric design which comprises a

7° top angle and a 45° supporting flank. As a result of this thread design,

the chocks are more mechanically stiff and have higher load bearing

capacity compared to standard chocks with metric thread of similar

diameter and pitch which uses a 2x30° angle design.

With years of experience in installation and foundation of machinery,

EMHA Technisch Bureau is able to perfectly mount your machines on

our chocks. However, if you like the mounting to be performed by own

personnel, we can also advice and deliver the chocks only.
