ACCREDITATIONS and MEMBERSHIPSThe Woodlands Prep is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, authorized to offer the IB Primary
Years, Middle Years, and Diploma Programmes. IB is a worldwide organization with a community of more
than 5,000 schools. We are also accredited by AdvancED, which is the largest community of education
professionals in the world and is recognized across the United States and 70 other nations around the world.
We are also members of the US-Mexico Chamber of Commerce, which is the leading bi-national business

promotes a global mindset, and we take pride in being able to provide an educational program that aligns so well
with our own philosophy. We believe we can change the world only by changing education first.
Enriched LanguagesWe strive to develop students who will build a better world through intercultural understanding, respect and
multilingualism.
Our unique ESL (English as a Second Language) Programme remains a particular highlight of the school as we are
the only school in The Woodlands to offer the program with such a diverse community. Our pioneering integrated
Mother Tongue Programmes are being developed in several languages out and within the curriculum, and we are
constantly adding more. Students cultural and linguistic identities are valued and nurtured through our
international curriculum and Mother Tongue Programmes. This added bilingual focus maintains the home culture
and language while improving the overall academic performance.
Language Pathways Our language program offers three core languages and supports more than 14 mother tongues while still offering
English-speaking students a high-level Language Arts program.
Inclusive environments that build on the learner strengths WP develops a curriculum designed to make sure that all students,
including multilingual learners, receive scaffolding as needed
through innovative and accessible approaches to teaching and learning.

Support ServicesAt WP, inclusion is a shared school conviction that all students can learn and succeed at. We believe each child is an
important part of the rich diversity of our learning community and that it is our responsibility to discover and develop
each of their talents toward personal excellence. This commitment differentiates us from other schools in The
Woodlands and connects us with like-minded schools across the region and the world.
Our Support Services Team (SST) is comprised of a school counselor and leadership team who work throughout the
school with the common goals of providing targeted support to students, working with families on individualized
learning plans, and collaborating with outsource colleagues on how best to support all learners.
WP Support Services Framework and Referral Process
Language Support The English Language Learning (ELL) team is comprised of specialists who work throughout the school to support for
English language learners.
In the Primary School, our ELL teachers are integrated into the classroom, supporting English acquisition within the
context of the regular learning environment. These teachers also provide targeted interventions and regular diagnostic
testing using the IPT and/or WIDA educational consortium model. Beyond the classroom, our Primary School ELL
teachers take part in collaborative planning sessions within grade level teaching teams to help further incorporate
appropriate content into instruction and assessment.
In the Middle and Upper School, our ELL teachers support students through level acquisition classes. Our teachers
take the needs of all language learners into account when teaching their lessons and collaborate with subject specific
colleagues to ensure that our English language learners are able to access the curriculum.
Multitiered Model Tier 1 - Mild SupportStudents participate in the samecurriculum content as their peerswith the same learningoutcomes, and they benefit frominstruction in the classroom butmay need accommodations toaccess and demonstrateunderstanding of the curriculum. Tier 2 - Moderate SupportStudents participate in the samecurriculum content as their peerswith mostly the same learningoutcomes but requireaccommodations and/or somemodifications to one or morecurriculum areas to access anddemonstrate understanding ofthe curriculum. The focus ofinstruction may be remedial andaimed at teaching basic skillswithin the context of the gradelevel/class curriculum. Tier 3 - Intense SupportStudents who need to participatein a modified programme fromthe grade level curriculum. Thestudent most likely has a 1:1learning assistant that attends tohis/her learning and social needsthroughout the school day.

IB PROGRAMMES The International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme. (PYP)offers a unique learning experience for children between the ages of 3and 12. Organized around the essential elements of knowledge,concepts, skills and acton, the PYP gives students the opportunity toexplore big ideas in the world around them, and make a difference intheir community and beyond.
The International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) isdesigned specifically for students aged 11 to 16. It provides a frameworkof learning which encourages students to ask questions and tounderstand how their learning in school maters in the ‘real world’.
The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) is a two-yearcourse of study for students in their final two years of High School, culminatingin a series of oral and written assessments.Graduates of the IB DP areincreasingly being sought by top universities. WP has offered the IB Diplomasince 2015 and was one of the first schools in The Woodlands to do so.
