centrifugal pumps

NB close-coupled and NK long-coupled end-suctionpumps are high-duty all-rounders from Grundfos

NB/NBG close-coupledFlow (max.): 400 m3/hour

Head (max.): 100 mLiquid temperature: – 20°C to +140°C

Pressure (max.): 16 Bar (1600 kPa.)

High efficiency, high performanceand high qualityNB close-coupled and NK long-coupledpumps are specially designed for thehard work where large volumes ofwater need to be moved efficientlyand reliably from one place to another.

The NB and NK are cast-iron pumps – all-round workhorses which havestood the test through numerous applications under highly variableconditions all over the world.

Hard-working and reliableUnder normal operating conditions, the pumps can reliably sustain up to 16 bars of pressure (25 bars upon request), move water up to 200 mhead, and deliver up to 2000 m3/hour.The stainless steel shaft will resistcorrosion for the life of the pump.

Grundfos NB close-coupled and NKlong-coupled pumps are ideally suitedfor use in:

• industrial liquid transfer

• cooling systems

• public water supply

• district heating plants

• air-conditioning and heatingsystems

• pressure boosting systems

• cleaning and wash-down systems

• fire protection

Meeting your needs is our jobThe high efficiency of the NB close-coupled and NK long-coupled pumpsmeans low operating costs. Togetherwith the long pump life which comesfrom using the best materials andtechnology, the NB and NK also standfor big long-term savings.

In systems with variable demand,NBE and NKE variable speed pumpsenable optimum control of flow andpressure. These models offer energysavings of up to 50%.

The standard models of NB and NKpumps are suitable for a wide rangeof applications, however, for specialrequirements customised pumps canbe supplied.

Robust and wear resistant constructionNB and NK pumps are supplied withhigh-quality bearings ensuring longlife. The NK pumps are available withbearings lubricated for life, as well aslubricatable bearings.

NB and NK pumps can be supplied witha bronze impeller which improves corro-sion resistance in chlorinated water, such as swimming pool water. An all-bronze version is also available for highsalinity waters, such as brackish andseawater.

Cost effective maintenance The NB and NK pumps are designedwith a “back-pull-out” system. In bothmodels, the impeller can be removedwithout dismantling the pump housingor pipework. On the NB close-coupledpump, the entire motor and impellerunit can be removed, this makes servic-ing simple and cost effective.

For systems with pumps connected in parallel, Grundfos offers the controlsystem Control 2000. This systemoffers alternating and energy-efficientoperation.

Grundfos brings water to people allover the world, and our pumps aremade to suit local conditions and needs. Therefore, NB and NK pumps come witheither a 50 or 60 Hz Grundfos standardmotor, and like all Grundfos pumps theyare backed by our world-wide after-sales service and technical support.

The very wide range of options offeredby the NB and NK series includes aselection of shaft seals, and customisedpumps can also be provided.

The spacer coupling on the long-coupled NK pump means that themotor can remain in place when theimpeller and shaft unit are removedfor maintenance and service check. This minimises the need for subse-quent realigning of the installation.

Grundfos NB close-coupled and NK long-coupled end-suction pumpsaccording to EN standards

Performance curves

Custom-built pumpsThe Grundfos NB and NK range of pumps comprises 35 basicmodels, and a number of materials is available. Within theperformance ranges shown here, we can customise a pumpto suit your specific needs.

EN standardsThe Grundfos close-coupled and long-coupled single-stagepumps comply with EN standards for industrial applicationsand building services. Pumps designated NB and NK complywith EN 733 (replacing DIN 24255), and pumps designatedNBG and NKG comply with EN 22858 (replacing ISO 2858).

The pump housings and impellers are made of first-classcast iron or bronze, the shafts are stainless steel, and theshaft seal and bearings are also of the highest quality.
