High volume pumping capabilities The E2 version of the 24 Series of rotary lobe pumps from ITT Jabsco offers high volume pumping with excellent stan- dards of hygiene. This top of the range pump features 150 mm diameter ports and offers flow mtcs of up to 2000 l/rain and a maximum pressure of 12 bar. With recent applications in the dairy industry for pumping cheese curds and yoghurt, the E2 pump can bc readily cleaned in-place (CIP) by using the pump itself to circulate cleaning agents or by using an integrated CIP system.A sealed rotor system prevents product getting into the spline area. With no possibility of bacteria breeding in this part of the pump, it does not need to be removed for cleaning. In keeping with a number of European and international hygiene standards, all compo- nents in contact with the pumped fluid arc manufactured from 316 grade stainless steel. The E2 does not generate high shear forces within the pump which could irreversibly damage shear sensitive product. It can readily pumps fluids which contain soft solids up to 27 mm in size. The gentle pumping action will not reduce the viscosity of the product. Use of the E2 pump is not restricted to dairy and other hygienic applications. The inert stainless steel construction enables it to be used in a wide range of transfer duties in other process industries. Low-cost internal gear pump launched .......... imln Liquiflo has introduced the Vantage series of positive displacement rotary pumps offering high levels of pulse-less flow. Vantage pumps feature a compact, economical configu- ration and complement Liquiflo's wide range of Rotogear pumps. Liquiflo can now provide positive displace- ment gear pumps covering a full range of flow rates from 0.01 gpm to 1000 gpm. Vantage pumps feature a wear adjustment system which compensates for wear on the front of the rotor by adjusting the axial position of the rotor. This ensures constant perfor- mance even after considerable wear. Contact: Liquiflo Equipment Company, 443 North Ave., Garwood, NJ 07027, USA. [] End-suction pumps for high flows Thompsons, Kelly & Lcwis's Type MT and Type PBAN are an extension of TKL's KL-ISO and Hydro-Titan end-suction pump ranges, offering larger flow rates of up to 400 l/s and heads to 165 m. Designed to handle clean, dirty and abrasive water, the MT (Mighty-Titan) single stage pump is the well-established choice for the watcr industry, whilst the PBAN is also suitable for the stock, pulp and paper industries. Through long experience gained in these industries TKL has used the best in hydraulic design to create pumps that are low on maintenance, highly resistant to wear and tear and both compact and robust. In the Type PBAN pump range, interchangeability of wearing parts is achieved with just two frame sizes which cover all six casing sizes from 100 to 300 mm discharge diam- eter. A minimum number of parts is therefore required for stock inventory. The open-type impeller of the PBAN pumps, can handle up to six per cent consistency material whilst operating at optimum efficiency. Three external screws allow for easy adjustment of the clear- ancc between the renewable front wearing plate and the impeller. Some common benefits of the two pump types are: 1. Maintenance time is effec- tively reduced because the back pull-out bearing bracket assembly allows for very easy access. 2.The complete rotating clement can be removed without disturbing the suction and/or deliver): pipework and driver. Positive alignment under the most demanding working conditions is assured by the integration of the two front feet into the pump casing. A third large detachable foot under the bearing housing provides extra working stability. Similarly, uneven loads or sudden shock loads are kept to a minimum through rigidly and permanently fixed thrust bearings. Pipework layout is simpli- fied and better resistance to pipe reactions has been achieved through the top centreline vertical discharge which provides for self-venting WORLD PUMPS JANUARY 1998
