Dear Lavinia ,
How are you doing dear friend ? I hope you do well because I want to take you in a mini
vacation by car next week. I want to show you some great places in Romania that I visited
when I was in practice this summer and now for surely it will be snow which is gonna be
cooler.
I will tell you from my experience to give you an idea of what it will be ! First I must say that
I was in some medieval cities such as Braov , Sibiu, Alba Iulia and basically the most
spectacular was Sighioara . We visited several monasteries, including Lainici and Densu oneof the oldest in the county Hunedoara.
Not to mention that the mountain landscapes in Rucr Bran are so great . We'll have part of
little adrenaline on the road because the road is narrow and situated at a height higher than
the houses scattered on the hill .
I'll bet that you'll like and I 'll make you a surprise on the way back, we meet with some old
friends of us.
Along with my colleagues, we had fun every night, I traveled many miles on foot I was
surprised by the places visited, I learned how important is the environment and its
conservation, I climbed four hours at Detunata which it was exciting and when and when returned, torrential rain came over us. It was funny because I didnt have umbrella and
imagine what I arrived in the bus.
More I will tell you when we meet again.
Big Hugs Laura

RE : Assistant Manager Position
Dear Mr.Smith
I am writing to apply for the post of assistant ecology manager advertised on the websiteUniversity of Bucharest .Please find enclosed a copy of my CV.
Since gruaduating from Faculty of Geography at University, specializing in environmenta
science . I have been working for a research center in London linked to environmenta
pollution for one year. I took courses in management, obtaining a degree at an internationa
level. During college I was involved in an internship related to ecology where I have gained
experience. I want to cooperate with the environmental protection ONGs.
I have become particulary interested in management system which includes organization
structure, planning activity, responsibilities, the practices, procedures, processes and the
resources for elaborating, implementing, realization, analysis and actualization ofenvironmental politics. I wish to develop my career in that direction.
I would welcome the chance to work as part of a small dynamic team where i could make a
significant contribution while developing my skills yet further.
I am available for interview next week and look forward to hearing from you .
Your sincerely , Laura

Renewable Energy Sources
The potential of renewable energy sources is enormous as they can in principle meet many
times the worlds energy demand. Renewable energy sources such as biomass, wind, solar,
hydropower, and geothermal can provide sustainable energy services, based on the use of
routinely available, indigenous resources. A transition to renewables-based energy systems is
looking increasingly likely as their costs decline while the price of oil and gas continue tofluctuate.
In the past 30 years solar and wind power systems have experienced rapid sales growth,
declining capital costs and costs of electricity generated, and have continued to improve their
performance characteristics. In fact, fossil fuel and renewable energy prices, and social and
environmental costs are heading in opposite directions and the economic and policy
mechanisms needed to support the widespread dissemination and sustainable markets for
renewable energy systems are rapidly evolving. It is becoming clear that future growth in the
energy sector will be primarily in the new regime of renewable energy, and to some extent
natural gas-based systems, not in conventional oil and coal sources. Because of thesedevelopments market opportunity now exists to both innovate and to take advantage of
emerging markets to promote renewable energy technologies, with the additional assistance
of governmental and popular sentiment.
The development and use of renewable energy sources can enhance diversity in energy
supply markets, contribute to securing long term sustainable energy supplies, help reduce
local and global atmospheric emissions, and provide commercially attractive options to meet
specific energy service needs, particularly in developing countries and rural areas helping to
create new employment opportunities there.
Solar EnergyThe sun is our most powerful source of energy. Sunlight, or solar energy, can be used for
heating, lighting and cooling homes and other buildings, generating electricity, water heating,
and a variety of industrial processes. Most forms of renewable energy come either directly or
indirectly from the sun. For example, heat from the sun causes the wind to blow, contributes
to the growth of trees and other plants that are used for biomass energy, and plays an
essential role in the cycle of evaporation and precipitation that makes hydropower possible.
Wind Energy
Wind is the movement of air that occurs when warm air rises and cooler air rushes in to
replace it. The energy of the wind has been used for centuries to sail ships and drive windmillsthat grind grain. Today, wind energy is captured by wind turbines and used to generate
electricity.
Hydropower
Water flowing downstream is a powerful force. Water is a renewable resource, constantly
recharged by the global cycle of evaporation and precipitation. The heat of the sun causes
water in lakes and oceans to evaporate and form clouds. The water then falls back to Earth as
rain or snow, and drains into rivers and streams that flow back to the ocean. Flowing water

can be used to power water wheels that drive mechanical processes. And captured by turbines
and generators, like those housed at many dams around the world, the energy of flowing
water can be used to generate electricity.
Biomass Energy
Biomass has been an important source of energy ever since people first began burning wood
to cook food and warm themselves against the winter chill. Wood is still the most common
source of biomass energy, but other sources of biomass energy include food crops, grassesand other plants, agricultural and forestry waste and residue, organic components from
municipal and industrial wastes, even methane gas harvested from community landfills
Biomass can be used to produce electricity and as fuel for transportation, or to manufacture
products that would otherwise require the use of non-renewable fossil fuels.
Hydrogen
Hydrogen has tremendous potential as a fuel and energy source, but the technology needed to
realize that potential is still in the early stages. Hydrogen is the most common element on
Earthfor example, water is two-thirds hydrogenbut in nature it is always found in
combination with other elements. Once separated from other elements, hydrogen can beused to power vehicles, replace natural gas for heating and cooking, and to generate
electricity.
Geothermal Energy
The heat inside the Earth produces steam and hot water that can be used to power generators
and produce electricity, or for other applications such as home heating and power generation
for industry. Geothermal energy can be drawn from deep underground reservoirs by drilling,
or from other geothermal reservoirs closer to the surface.
Ocean Energy
The ocean provides several forms of renewable energy, and each one is driven by differentforces. Energy from ocean waves and tides can be harnessed to generate electricity, and ocean
thermal energyfrom the heat stored in sea watercan also be converted to electricity
Using current technologies, most ocean energy is not cost-effective compared to other
renewable energy sources, but the ocean remains and important potential energy source for
the future.
In conclusion renewable energy reduce fossil fuel, lower environmental impact, never exhausts
, enhance national energy security ,energy efficient - less energy for the same activity and
involving people and companies in all activities.
