Read the passage below and answer the question that follows.

The word 'discipline' is not new to any student. Some students do not like it

because they feel that it is imposed on them.A student is said to have self-discipline when he or she chooses to put in three

hours of study every day. On the other hand, a student who consistently turns up late for

classes is lacking in self-discipline.

Self-discipline is important for three reasons. Firstly, goals can only be achievedwith self-discipline. For a student to do well in his studies, he or she requires personal

discipline. He or she must be willing to put in consistent hard work on his studies to do

well.Secondly, a disciplined student will be able to subject his mind, body and

emotions to strict training. He or she is more likely to have qualities like patience,

perseverance and tolerance. Lastly, by living a disciplined life, a student will not take up

bad habits such as drinking, smoking, gambling or daydreaming. Instead, he or she willdevelop good habits of eating well, sleeping well and working well.
