All debates consist of teams, rules and adjudication. Like sports, debates can be had in competition or more casually, and debaters require both training and practice to reach their full potential. At Coleg Cambria we offer both casual and formal debating sessions alongside the opportunity to compete in various prestigious competitions. Media Animation Using Ipads: Animation is the process of creating motion and shape change illusion by means of the rapid display of a sequence of static images that minimally differ from each other. This process can be created using various means but we will be using plasticine and iPads. This club is aimed at beginners, however we welcome more advanced animators who may wish to join us and assist beginners in their development.

Student Magazine: Student Word is run entirely by Coleg Cambria students. Students from all areas are very welcome to contribute, as writers, photographers, editors, production team members... The magazine offers a fantastic opportunity to be part of a creative team, to develop and practise journalistic skills and to acquire the kind of experience that looks so good on a UCAS Personal Statement.

Literature Club: The tutors went to see the streamed production at the Odeon of Medea by Euripides Live from the National Theatre on the 4th September and the drama will be discussed in next Wednesday's Literature Club meeting. Year 2 students can relate this to the work they did on Greek Drama at the end of last term. The tutors all agreed that this was a stunning production and look forward to discussing the drama with you!

Pennant Science Society:

The Pennant Science Society is held weekly to broaden and inform the interests of BTEC and A Level Science students. . Speakers from Bangor and the Maelor Hospital have given talks on careers in Radiology and Occupational Therapy and Admissions and subject specialists from Chester, Glyndwr and Cardiff Universities have discussed degree courses in Medicine, Biomedical Sciences, Forensics and health care programmes. The Science Society has also been supported by college staff giving talks on specialist areas and the College's Science Alumni who have visited to share tips on their university experiences and applications. The Pennant Science Society runs every Wednesday at 12-45pm and information on its events is publicised outside the Science Laboratories.

The Foundation Science Alumni: The Foundation Science Alumni group started in 2012 when a cohort of students who had been very proactive within the faculty and college were determined to continue to make a positive contribution to the College. During the following academic year they visited the Pennant Science Society to give talks on their voluntary work, making UCAS applications and give tips on practical aspects of student life such as finance and finding accommodation. This group also generously met bespoke groups – e.g Oxbridge applicants and offered to be contacts for their university and degree courses.

Coleg Cambria Student Enterprise Clubs offer learners from across sites, departments and subjects to come together regularly. They are an excellent way of capturing and sharing the entrepreneurial ideas and talents of our learners, are great fun and prove year-in, year-out to be an important talking point in interviews and important feature on CVs and Personal Statements. There are 3 main objectives: 1) to support learners looking to be their own boss in the future and for those who wish to explore business ideas further. 2) to support learners who want to be involved in managing entrepreneurial events and activities across the sites. These could be fundraising events, student markets, Charity CD, fashion shows, the list is endless 3) to develop entrepreneurial skills in our learners such as leadership, networking, negotiation, organisation, presentation skills. We work closely with the local business community, voluntary organisations, local Councils and Glyndwr University - all of whom contribute to the Clubs.

When: Yale site – starts Tuesday 16th September, then every week

The Hub: The lunchtime club is open to learners on the Northop on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday Lunchtimes in The Hub. There are loads of activities going on such as snooker, arts, football and other social events. Everyone welcome!
