Canisius College: “Be the Light Youth Theology Institute” calls for all high school students in WNY to Be the Light this summer. This is open to current high school sophomores and juniors from July 10 – 15, 2017. This is an on-campus experience of faith, justice and service in the Catholic and Ignatian tradition, including academic instruction, service-immersion experiences, prayer and reflection. This one week can help you shine by developing leadership skills and learning how to brighten the world for others. Duke University Summer College: This is for High School Students and it runs from July 9 – August 4, 2017 for current sophomores and juniors. Earn college credit and experience authentic college residential life. You may apply as early as December 1, 2016. There is also a Summer Academy available from July 15 – August 4, 2017 that includes noncredit bearing courses. Duke University Youth Programs: Each summer, approximately 650 youth from around the nation and world attend one of the 13 different programs for students from grades 6 – 11. All programs seek to engage learners in innovative, interactive and transformative learning experiences. Co-curricular social and recreational activities are carefully planned and delivered to complement the instructional day. Harvard Pre-College Summer Program: Provides an academically challenging and introduction to college life for rising juniors and seniors. Ithaca College Summer College Program: This is available to rising juniors and seniors and includes both a three-week session and a one-week session. The three-week session runs from July 2 – 21, 2017 and programs offered at this time include Acting I, Communication, Culture & Rhetoric, Cultural Anthropology, Digital Music Production, Introduction to Musical Theatre Performance, Introduction to Sports Management, and Issues in Management. Maine Media Young Artists Camp: This is a pre-college program that has one and two-week workshops available that run from June to August in photography, filmmaking, game design, screenwriting, alt pro, documentary, and so many more. Marist College: Marist offers Summer pre-college programs with classes ranging from Business, Sports Communication and Pre-Law, to Psychology. New York University (NYU): Precollege programs are available to rising juniors and seniors, offering students the opportunity to experience NYU by spending six weeks (July 3 – August 13, 2017) living and learning in their community. New York University (NYU) Summer College Access Leadership Institute: This program is designed for high school sophomores and juniors to demystify the often daunting college admissions process. The program will include workshops and small group sessions on a variety of topics, including college admissions, essay & resume writing, and financial aid literacy, among other topics. Norwich University: New England Youth Leadership Conferences are available in which participants are grouped into teams that participate in both classes and physical challenges. This is open to all high school students and it is recommended that the applicant posses a 2.5 GPA or above. The cost to attend is $100 and payment must be submitted within three weeks of the program to secure a spot. Students will learn in the nation’s capital and intern in a setting aligned with their goals and interests, all while taking an accredited course on presidential leadership. The Experiment in International Living: Experience in Leadership Programs in India with a focus on Global Health, or South Africa with a focus on Peace, Politics and Human Rights. These are fully funded 6-week programs for seniors who are at least 16 years old. University of Dayton Summer Honors Engineering Camp: This is open to rising sophomores, juniors and seniors who have a cumulative GPA of 3.5. University of Pittsburgh “The Bridge”: This is a College Prep & Leadership Academy and is a week long summer program for high school students. It is being held from July 9 – 14, 2017. Students will gain valuable experience and insight in the areas of leadership development, conflict management, diversity, creative problem-solving, and maximizing the college experience.
