Hadeed HLPE 14th May 2011 Restricted Work Case “B”

One of the contractor employee was engaged in wood cutting activity with a Rotary Circular Saw, during the process of disengaging the worker had accidently touched the saw on to his right upper thigh when it was still running causing lacerated wound. Medical administration was given to the injured worker on site and then he was sent to hospital for further treatment. The accident was classified as Restricted Work Case as the injured was suggested light duties for seven days.

Recordable Injuries are: Fatality, Lost Workday Injury, Restricted Workday and Medical Treatment.

Monthly Safety Evaluations were completed at Hadeed HLPE, SAFCO UGAA and Housing Projects (Jubail), final reports have been issued to all concerned for corrective actions and compliance.

SSEHS Function Overview Workshop was conducted on 18th May, E&PM VP and L3 department Heads reviewed SSEHS functional areas in detail and identified improvement areas.

Clarification on FEED requirements for elevator were given to IBN SINA POM project .

Specification of Fencing of IBN SINA POM project was reviewed and commented .

IBN SINA POM project Criteria for Underground Piping, Plumbing & Drainage and Fire Protection Design was reviewed and commented .

ITB PEI HSE part for IBN SINA MMA-PMA project was included. Safety Alert on recent Class “B” Injury (working with circular saw) was generated and shared to E&PM all staff including projects.

Safety Awareness presentations were given to SPM work force in Petrokemya on following topics Scaffolds, Confined space and working at height.

Safety awareness training on safe use of hand tools was conducted for SPM work force in Ar Razi projects (SPM).

Method statement and critical lift plan was reviewed for RMO Building Project (Duct Banks Installation).

Method of statement was reviewed for project “Upgrade Boiler Steam Drum Level Monitoring System through Camera at CCTV AF-0916003” (Ibn sina SSPM Project).

Number of JSA’ were reviewed for ongoing SPM Projects.
