GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE UNIVERSITY OF SARAJEVO Since its founding, the University of Sarajevo has been oriented towards international cooperation, building bridges between cultures and establishing formal partnerships with universities from all over the world. The University of Sarajevo is an association of a large number of institutions:

Over 40.000 students are enrolled at the University of Sarajevo.

ERASMUS MUNDUS PROJEKTI ZA AKADEMSKU 2012/2013. GODINU ERASMUS MUNDUS PROGRAMS IN 2012/2013

U okviru programa Erasmus Mundus II studenti sva tri ciklusa studija, kao i studenti predbolonjskog sistema studija, te nastavnici i saradnici Univerziteta u Sarajevu mogu podnijeti prijavu za stipendije za mobilnost na partnerskim univerzitetima za akademsku 2012/2013. godinu. Termini za dostavljanje prijava za stipendije za mobilnost utvrdit de se početkom oktobra, o čemu dete biti obaviješteni posredstvom Službe za međunarodnu saradnju, nakon čega de se organizovati promotivna kampanja – info dani. Određeni broj stipendija namijenjen je i studentima drugih bh. univerziteta koji nisu direktni partneri u projektima.

Within the ERASMUS MUNDUS II framework program, all students (from all 3 levels of studies), student of pre-Bologna study system, and teachers and associates from the University of Sarajevo can apply on the partner EU universities in 2012/2013 academic year.

Deadline for the applications will be determined in the beginning of October 2011, and all information will be provided to you by International Relations Office of the University of Sarajevo which will also organize awareness campaign – Info days. Certain number of the scholarships will be given to the students of other BH universities which are not direct partner in these projects.

WELCOME ERASMUS MUNDUS SCHOLARS!

During the September, 26 foreign students, teachers and associates are coming at the University of Sarajevo. It is about students, teachers and associates who come via the Erasmus Mundus II projects, CEEPUS program, and on the basis of agreements on bilateral cooperation. Among these students are those who were born in Bosnia and Herzegovina, currently living and studying in EU countries and beyond. On that occasion, the Office of International Cooperation organized an orientation program whose aim was to acquaint the students, teachers and associates with the University of Sarajevo, its history, tradition and culture, including the history, tradition, culture and tradition of our City and country as well. The meeting, held on 27 September at the University of Sarajevo, was attended by foreign students, teachers and associates who are coming from Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Poland, Mexico, Norway, Slovakia, Lithuania and Germany, as well as students, teachers and associates of Sarajevo University, who previously participated in these aforesaid programs. Prof. Dr Slavenka Vobornik, Vice Rector for Teaching, and senior officers of the International Cooperation Office, Ms. Jasna Bošnjovid and Mr. Adnan Rahimid wished a welcome to foreign students. The Otoka Olympic Swimming Pool provided a one-day use for University of Sarajevo’s foreign students and guests. Also, the Department of International Cooperation organized a day-long visit to Mostar, Počitelj and Kravice Waterfall for foreign students.

Na Univerzitet u Sarajevu tokom septembra dolazi 26 stranih studenata, nastavnika i saradnika. U pitanju su studenti, nastavnici i saradnici koji dolaze putem projekata Erasmus Mundus II, CEEPUS program, te na osnovu sporazuma o bilateralnoj saradnji. Među tim studentima su i oni koji su rođeni u Bosni i Hercegovini, a trenutno žive i studiraju u zemljama EU i šire. Tim povodom je Služba za međunarodnu saradnju organizirala orijentacijski program čiji je cilj bio da upozna strane studente, nastavnike i saradnike sa Univerzitetom u Sarajevu, njegovom historijom, tradicijom i kulturom, kao i historijom, tradicijom, kulturom i običajima našeg grada i zemlje. Sastanku, koji je održan 27. septembra u Rektoratu Univerziteta u Sarajevu, prisustvovali su strani studenti, nastavnici i saradnici koji dolaze iz Slovenije, Češke, Poljske, Meksika, Norveške, Slovačke, Litvanije i Njemačke, kao i studenti, nastavnici i saradnici Sarajevskog univerziteta koji su ranije učestvovali u navedenim programima. Riječi dobrodošlice stranim studentima uputili su prof. dr. Slavenka Vobornik, prorektoresa za nastavu, te stručni saradnici Službe za međunarodnu saradnju gospođa Jasna Bošnjovid i gospodin Adnan Rahimid. Olimpijski bazen Otoka je za strane studente, goste Univerziteta u Sarajevu, osigurao jednodnevno korištenje bazena. Također, Služba za međunarodnu saradnju je za strane studente organizovala jednodnevnu posjetu Mostaru, Počitelju i vodopadu Kravice.

Univerzitet u Sarajevu de u akademskoj 2011/2012. godini ugostiti 22 studenta, nastavnika i saradnika sa partnerskih univerziteta iz Evropske Unije posredstvom programa Erasmus Mundus II. Projekti razmjene u kojima učestvuje i naš univerzitet su: JoinEU-SEE, BASILEUS i EM2STEM. Kako bi im prvi dani, ali i cijeli boravak u Sarajevu prošli u najboljem redu, te kako bismo ih upoznali sa akademskim, ali i onim vannastavnim aktivnostima, Služba za međunarodnu saradnju Univerziteta u Sarajevu de organizovati dane dobrodošlice, koje de prirediti u svojim prostorijama. S obzirom da dolaze iz različitih zemalja, studenti “gosti” de imati priliku da se međusobno upoznaju, ali i da upoznaju studente stipendiste iz Sarajeva koji su također učestvovali u istim razmjenama.

University of Sarajevo will be a host university for 22 students and members of academic and non-academic staff in 2011/2012 academic year through Erasmus Mundus II program. The projects for exchange are: JoinEU-SEE, BASILEUS and EM2STEM. To help them in their first days, but also through whole period of mobility, International Relations Office, University of Sarajevo will organize Orientation Week and introduce them with academic and non -academic activities. Having in mind that students and member of staff are from different countries, they will have chance to meet each other, and also to meet former scholars from Sarajevo who also participated in these programs.

ERASMUS MUNDUS: posjeta Hercegovini ERASMUS MUNDUS: Visit to Herzegovina

U okviru orijentacijskog programa koji je Služba za međunarodnu saradnju Univerziteta u Sarajevu organizovala za gostujude studente koji dolaze putem programa ERASMUS MUNDUS, CEEPUS, te kroz bilateralne ugovore, u petak 30. septembra 2011. godine organizovan je cjelodnevni izlet u Hercegovinu: Mostar, Počitelj i vodopad Kravice. Kako studentska razmjena ne podrazumijeva samo akademske aktivnosti nego i upoznavanje zemlje u kojoj gostuju, njihovih ljudi i običaja, ovo je bila odlična prilika da se gostujudi studenti upoznaju sa ljepotama naših južnih dijelova zemlje, uživaju u historijskim spomenicima, kao i u domadim kulinarskim specijalitetima. Gostujudi studenti su uživali u ljepotama starog grada u Mostaru, gdje su sa prekrasnom pozadinom Starog mosta aparatima ovjekovječili svoju posjetu. Put se dalje nastavio prema Počitelju, jednom od najljepših starih gradova iz perioda Osmanlija u Bosni i Hercegovini. Popevši se na kulu, moglo se uživati u pogledu na kanjon kojeg stvara rijeka Neretva. Nastavljeno je dalje do vodopada Kravice, jednog od prirodnih spomenika koji stvara rijeka Trebižat. S obzirom da je Hercegovina poznata po visokom temperaturama, ni kalendarska jesen nije spriječila da se neki naši gosti osvježe u spomenutoj rijeci.

As a part of Orientation week program for the guest students coming from ERASMUS MUNDUS, CEEPUS and bilateral agreements, on Friday, 30

September 2011 International Relations Office organized field trip to Herzegovina: City of Mostar,

Počitelj and Kravice Waterfall. Given that student exchange is not only consisted of academic activities, but also meeting new people and customs of the host country, this was a great opportunity for students to enjoy in historical monuments and BH cuisine. Guest enjoyed in Mostar, especially in the Old Bridge, placing it as a beautiful background in their photos. Trip continued to Počitelj, one of the beautiful old cities from the Ottoman period. From the top of the tower, they enjoyed in the beautiful view on the Neretva River and surroundings. We continued to the Kravice Waterfall, natural monument created by the river Trebižat. Herzegovina was always famous by its high temperature. Although it was autumn according to calendar, some of our guests sought refreshment in the river.

KONFERENCIJA KOORDINATORA PROJEKATA ERASMUS MUNDUS ERASMUS MUNDUS COORDINATORS CONFERENCE

U organizaciji Izvršne agencije za obrazovanje, audiovizuelnu djelatnost i kulturu 23. septembra 2011. godine je u Briselu održana godišnja konferencija koordinatora Erasmusa. Izvršna agencija za obrazovanje, audiovizuelnu djelatnost i kulturu odgovorna je za upravljanje akcijama 1, 2 i 3 programa Erasmus Mundus i to pod supervizijom Generalnog direktorijata za obrazovanje i kulturu (DG EAC Evropske komisije) i Ureda za saradnju Evropske komisije i evropske pomodi (AIDCO). Konferenciji je prisustvovalo 220 koordinatora projekata Erasmus Mundus iz cijelog svijeta. Gospodin Joachim Fronia, rukovodilac Agencije, istakao je da trenutno postoji 440 aktuelnih projekata programa Erasmus Mundus, kao i vanjska saradnja u okviru koje de se u periodu 2011–2013. u mobilnost uključiti 5217 studenata, nastavnika i saradnika iz različitih regiona svijeta, sve sa namjerom postizanja konačnog cilja – jačanja kvaliteta visokog obrazovanja i promoviranja dijaloga i razumijevanja među ljudima i kulturama.

Univerzitet u Sarajevu, u kategoriji zemalja Zapadnog Balkana, učestvuje u pet projekata koji omogudavaju stipendiranje mobilnosti u dva pravca: Zapadni Balkan – Evropska unija i obratno. Rukovodilac sektora za ovaj region gospođa Anila Troshani istakla je da su projekti iz ove regije pokazali iznadprosječnu uspješnost u odnosu na cjelokupni program. Na konferenciji je razmatrana uloga nacionalnih tijela, predstavništava delegacija Evropske komisije u zemljama partnerima u projektima, te uloga nacionalnih Tempus ureda u promociji mogudnosti stipendiranja koje državljanima zemalja Zapadnog Balkana nudi Evropska komisija kroz Erasmus Mundus, akciju 1 i 2.

Univerzitet u Sarajevu je učesnik programa Erasmus Mundus od 2008. godine, te je po pozivu Univerziteta u Gracu, koordinatora jednog od projekata, imao svog predstavnika na ovoj konferenciji.

Organized by the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), on 23 September 2011 in Brussels, the annual conference of the Erasmus coordinators took place. Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) is responsible for managing the actions of 1, 2 and 3 Erasmus Mundus Programs, under the supervision of Directorate-General for Education and Culture (European Commission) (DG EAC) and the Development and Cooperation - EuropeAid Directorate General (AIDCO). 220 Erasmus Mundus projects' Coordinators from around the world attended the conference. Mr. Joachim Fronia, Head of the Agency, pointed out that currently there was 440 ongoing projects of the Erasmus Mundus and External Cooperation in the framework within which, in the period from 2011 to 2013, 5217 students, teachers and associates through various regions of the world will join the mobility, all with the intention of achieving the ultimate goal - strengthening the quality of higher education and promoting dialogue and understanding between peoples and cultures.

University of Sarajevo, within the category of the Western Balkan countries, is participating in five projects that make available scholarships for two-way mobility in the Western Balkans - European Union direction and vice versa. Ms. Anila Troshani, Sector Manager for this region, pointed out that projects in this region had shown outstanding performance in the entire program. At the conference, the role of national authorities, European Commission Delegation offices in countries which are project partners, and the role of national Tempus Offices were discussed, in the context of promoting of scholarship opportunities for the citizens of Western Balkan countries which are being offered by the European Commission via the Erasmus Mundus Actions 1 and 2.

University of Sarajevo has been a participant in the Erasmus Mundus program since 2008, and by the University of Graz's invitation – a project’s coordinator, had its representatives at this conference.

MEĐUNARODNA KONFERENCIJA „SARAJEVSKI DIJALOG 2011“ The International Conference “Sarajevo Conversations 2011“

On Friday 16/9/2011, in the Ceremonial Hall of the University of Sarajevo’s Rectorate, the “Sarajevo Conversations 2011” International conference which is taking place from 16 to 18 September 2011, and organized by the University of Sarajevo, Brisbane Institute of Strengths Based Practice and “Bukovina i Hrastovina“ Association.

The Conference that is dedicated to the management of social changes based on own strengths and experience with special emphasis on countries in the Balkan, gathers experts from 11 countries (B&H, Croatia, Slovenia, Poland, Austria, Great Britain, Ireland, Israel, India, Australia and USA) that will through 35 papers deal with problems which are societies in transition facing, such as:

• Role of youth in national development • Entrepreneurship development • Corporate Social Responsibility • Governance and people strengthening practices • Volunteers for development of nation building and social changes • Preservation of common legacy • Study analyses of practical experience and examples from the word

U petak 16. septembra u Svečanoj sali Rektorata Univerziteta u Sarajevu upriličeno je svečano otvaranje međunarodne konferencije „Sarajevski dijalog 2011“, koja se održava od 16. do 18. septembra u organizaciji Univerziteta u Sarajevu, Brisbane Institute of Strengths Based Practice i Udruženja „Bukovina i Hrastovina“.

Ova konferencija je posvedena menadžmentu društvenih promjena baziranih na vlastitim snagama i iskustvu, s posebnim naglaskom na zemlje balkanskog regiona, a okuplja stručnjake iz 11 zemalja (BiH, Hrvatska, Slovenija, Poljska, Austrija, Velika Britanija, Irska, Izrael, Indija, Australija i SAD) koji de kroz 35 referata obraditi probleme društava u tranziciji, kao što su:

• uloga mladih u nacionalnom razvoju, • razvoj poduzetništva, • korporativna društvena odgovornost, • upravljanje i praksa jačanja ljudskih potencijala, • volontiranje za razvoj nacionalne izgradnje i društvenih promjena, • očuvanje zajedničkog naslijeđa i • studijske analize praktičnih iskustava i primjera iz cijelog svijeta.

POTPISAN SPORAZUM O AKADEMSKOJ SARADNJI SA UNIVERZITETOM FON Academic Cooperation Agreement with FON University Signed

On Tuesday 20th

September, in premises of the University of Sarajevo’s Rectorate, the Agreement on Academic Cooperation between University of Sarajevo and FON University from Skopje was officially signed.

Prof. Dr Faruk Čaklovica, Rector, University of Sarajevo and Rector of the FON University, Prof. Dr Aleksandar Nikolovski signed the Agreement that will serve as general framework for institutional cooperation and which will facilitate to members of these institutions further considerations and development of specific cooperation programmes of mutual interest. The signed Agreement provides cooperation implementing through mutual connecting and teachers, staff and students exchange, as well as through joint participation and applying to funds intended for educational, research and artistic activities. Moreover, the Agreement provides conducting of joint programmes, symposia, courses, summer schools, workshops, and exchanging of textbooks, literature and other academic publications.

Rector of the FON University, Prof. Dr Aleksandar Nikolovski and Mr. Esad Rahid, Director of Marketing and PR Office, FON University, and University of Sarajevo’s representatives Prof. Dr Faruk Čaklovica, Rector, University of Sarajevo's Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Prof. Dr Samir Arnautovid Prof. Dr Slavenka Vobornik, Vice-Rector for Teaching and Mr. Zoran Seleskovid, Secretary General attended the meeting and Agreement signing, who at the same time discussed the possibilities of future cooperation.

U utorak 20. septembra u prostorijama Rektorata je upriličeno svečano potpisivanje Sporazuma o akademskoj saradnji između Univerziteta u Sarajevu i Univerziteta FON u Skoplju.

Sporazum, koji su potpisali prof. dr. Faruk Čaklovica, rektor Univerziteta u Sarajevu, i prof. dr. Aleksandar Nikolovski, rektor Univerziteta FON, poslužit de kao opdi okvir za institucionalnu saradnju, a olakšat de članovima institucija daljnje razmatranje i razvijanje specifičnih programa saradnje od obostranog interesa.

Potpisanim Sporazumom je predviđeno da se saradnja odvija kroz uzajamno povezivanje i razmjenu nastavnika, osoblja i studenata, te zajedničko učešde i apliciranje za pristup fondovima namijenjenim obrazovnom, istraživačkom i umjetničkom radu. Također, Sporazumom je predviđeno i izvođenje zajedničkih programa, simpozija, kongresa, seminara, kurseva, ljetnih škola, radionica, kao i razmjena literature, udžbenika i ostalih univerzitetskih publikacija.

Svečanom potpisivanju i sastanku, na kojem su vođeni razgovori o bududoj saradnji, prisustvovali su prof. dr. Aleksandar Nikolovski, rektor Univerziteta FON, i gospodin Esad Rahid, direktor marketinga i odnosa s javnošdu Univerziteta FON, te predstavnici Univerziteta u Sarajevu: rektor prof. dr. Faruk Čaklovica, prorektor za međunarodnu saradnju prof. dr. Samir Arnautovid, prorektoresa za nastavu prof. dr. Slavenka Vobornik, te gospodin Zoran Seleskovid, generalni sekretar.

Prorektor za naučnoistraživački rad prof. dr. Hazim Bašid primio je u srijedu 13. jula 2011. godine u prostorijama Rektorata Univerziteta u Sarajevu gospođu Yolandu Parrado Marcos, direktoricu organizacije „Casa Mediterraneo“, njenu saradnicu gospođu Carolinu Madeleine Herrero, te gospodina Toribia de Prada Pereza, zamjenika ambasadora Španije u BiH. Na sastanku su vođeni razgovori o ostvarivanju i produbljivanju postojede saradnje između Univerziteta u Sarajevu i univerziteta u Španiji. Univerzitet u Sarajevu ved ima potpisane sporazume o akademskoj saradnji sa Univerzitetom u Barceloni i Evropskim orijentalnim institutom u Madridu, a kroz programe Evropske unije – Tempus i Erasmus Mundus – sarađuje i sa univerzitetima u Granadi, Gironi i Barceloni. Razgovori su vođeni i o organizaciji susreta civilnog društva zemalja Balkana i Španije, od kojih bi se jedan održao u Španiji, a drugi u nekoj od zemalja na području Balkana. Prisutni na sastanku su se složili da de u narednom periodu uložiti dodatne napore da se intenzivira saradnja između univerziteta u Španiji i Univerziteta u Sarajevu, posebno u oblasti promocije našeg univerziteta s ciljem prijema vedeg broja studenata iz Španije koji bi dio studijskog programa realizirali na našem univerzitetu.

On Wednesday, 13 July in the premises of the University of Sarajevo, Prof. Dr Hazim Bašid, Vice-Rector for Research received Ms. Yolanda Parrado Marcos, Director, "Casa Mediterraneo", her associate Ms. Caroline Madeleine Herrero and Mr. Toribio Perez de Prado, Spain's Deputy Ambassador to B-H. At the meeting discussions were led on the implementation and deepening of existing cooperation between the University of Sarajevo and Universities in Spain. University of Sarajevo has already signed Agreements on Academic Cooperation with the University of Barcelona and the European Oriental Institute in Madrid, and through the European Union programs - Tempus and Erasmus Mundus cooperates with Universities of Granada, Girona and Barcelona. In addition, the organizing of meetings of civil society sectors from the Balkan countries and Spain was discussed, out of which one would be held in Spain and another in some of the Western Balkan countries. The attendees agreed that in future further efforts shall be invested into intensify cooperation between Universities in Spain and the University of Sarajevo, particularly in the area of promoting our University with the aim of receiving a larger number of students from Spain who would attend a part of their study programs at our University.

U petak 8. jula 2011. godine u prostorijama Rektorata Univerziteta u Sarajevu prof. dr. Samir Arnautovid, prorektor za međunarodnu saradnju, sastao se sa delegacijom Univerziteta u Gironi. Delegaciju su činili gospođa M. Luise Perez Cabani, prorektoresa za međunarodnu saradnju, dr. Josep Juando Boscha, izaslanik za podršku u nastavnom procesu, i gospođa Denisa Gibovid.

Sastanku, organizovanom povodom dogovora u vezi sa implementacijom projekta „Curricula Modernisation and Life Long Learning Center“ u koji je Univerzitet u Sarajevu uključen kao partner, prisustvovali su i gospodin Haris Muhid, direktor fondacije SUS BiH, i gospođa Nina Đikid, ispred R&D centra Univerziteta u Sarajevu. Prorektor Arnautovid je naglasio kako ovaj projekt ima punu institucionalnu podršku Univerziteta u Sarajevu, te da de njegova implementacija doprinijeti rekonstruiranju i procesu integracije Univerziteta.

On Friday, 8 July 2011, in the premises of the University of Sarajevo, Prof. Dr Samir Arnautovid, Vice Rector for International Cooperation, had a meeting with a delegation from the University of Girona. The delegation consisted of Ms. M. Luise Perez Cabani, Vice Rector for International Cooperation, Dr. Josep Juando Boscha, the teaching supporting Delegate and Ms. Denisa Gibovid.

The meeting was organized on the occasion of agreement regarding the implementation of "Curricula Modernization and Life-Long Learning Center" project in which the University of Sarajevo is included as a partner. Mr. Haris Muhid Director of the SUS BiH Foundation and Ms. Nina Ðikid, on the behest of the R & D Center, University of Sarajevo also attended the meeting. Vice Rector Arnautovid said that this project had University of Sarajevo’s full institutional support of the, and that its implementation would contribute to the University's reconstruction and the integration.

Austrijska ambasada u Sarajevu obavještava da je Savezno ministarstvo nauke i istraživanja Republike Austrije saopdilo da su za studijsku godinu 2012/2013. stavljene na raspolaganje stipendije za studente dodiplomskih i postdiplomskih studija, kao i stipendije za naučnike. Konkursi za stipendije se raspisuju u okviru Austrijske baze podataka za stipendije i podsticanje istraživačkog rada www.grants.at (na njemačkom i engleskom jeziku). Putem ove web stranice su, pored informacija o stipendijama Saveznog ministarstva nauke i istraživanja, dostupne i informacije o stipendijskim programima drugih institucija.

Podnošenje zahtjeva za stipendije mora uslijediti putem web stranice www.scholarships.at. Posebno se naglašava da se za stipendije za 2012/2013. godinu može konkurirati isključivo elektronskim putem.

S4WB nudi širok spektar stipendija za studente i istraživače Zapadnog Balkana, te im pruža mogudnost informiranja o finansijskoj pomodi za bakalaureatske, masterske i doktorske studije. Baza podataka nudi informacije o stipendijama iz 17 oblasti studija u 33 države širom Evrope. Edukacija je ključna za doprinos integraciji u Evropsku uniju. Stoga ova baza podataka daje studentima Zapadnog Balkana jednostavan pristup detaljnim informacijama o mogudnostima studiranja u inozemstvu, kao i osnovne informacije o finansijskoj pomodi. S4WB de omoguditi studentima Zapadnog Balkana da steknu nova iskustva u drugačijem kulturnom okruženju i da ta iskustva primijene po povratku u svoju domovinu. Hutovo blato Bird Reserve is marshland, created by the underground aquifer system of the Krupa River. It is fed from the Ostrvo limestone massif that divides the Deransko and Svitavsko Lakes. The International Council for Bird Protection placed this reserve on the list of important bird habitats, and did so for good reasons: this reserve is the largest of its kind in this part of Europe, in terms of both size and diversity. It is home to over 240 sorts of migratory birds and dozens that make their permanent home in these sub-Mediterranean wetlands surrounding Deransko Lake. In the migration season, tens of thousands of birds fill this lake and its surroundings. The reserve provides a unique oasis amongst the harsh arid karst of Western Herzegovina. Teeming with freshwater fish, wild duck, geese, coots, hawks, herons, pheasants, wild boar and wild horses, it accommodates birdwatchers, nature lovers and families with children alike. For the latter, there is a very short but cute educational walk that starts from the motel. Hutovo blato is located only 5km from the city of Čapljina and is marked with clear signs on the M-17. Entrance fee to the park is 1 KM it is open all year round. It also has a picnic area, restaurant/café and a motel.

Park prirode „Hutovo blato“ je močvara koju stvara podzemni vodeni sistem rijeke Krupe. Napaja se sa vapnenskog masiva Ostrvo koji dijeli Deransko i Svitavsko jezero. Međunarodno vijede za zaštitu ptica stavilo je ovaj rezervat na listu važnih ptičijih staništa i to sa dobrim razlogom: ovaj rezervat je najvedi ovakve vrste u ovom dijelu Evrope kako površinom, tako i raznolikošdu. Ova submediteranska močvara okružena Deranskim jezerom je dom 240 vrsta ptica na njihovom migracionom putu, kao i desetinama vrsta kojima je ovo stanište stalno prebivalište. U vrijeme migracija na desetine hiljada ptica preplavi ovo jezero i njegovo okruženje. Park prirode je jedinstvena oaza u surovom i škrtom kršu zapadne Hercegovine. Idealan je za ljubitelje ptica i prirode, te za porodice sa djecom jer je prepun slatkovodne ribe, divljih pataka, gusaka, liski, jastreba, čaplji, fazana, veprova i divljih konja. Kasnije se možete odlučiti za veoma kratku, ali poučnu šetnju edukacijskom stazom. Ulaz u park se napladuje 1 KM po osobi. U parku postoji izletnička zona, kafid/restoran i motel.
