Bopara. Coupled with a number of rising Essex

stars including Reece Topley, Ben Foakes and

Tymal Mills to name but a few, the future

certainly looks bright at The Essex County

Ground.

The on-ield aim for 2014 is simple – achieve

promotion back to Division I of the LV= County

Championship. Although we narrowly missed

out on achieving this aim in 2013, it was

pleasing to compete on all three fronts, taking

the promotion battle down to the wire, reaching

Twenty20 Finals Day and challenging for a

Yorkshire Bank 40 semi-inal slot.

There were many highlights to savour in 2013

and here is to hoping 2014 brings some

memorable and historic moments.

Behind the scenes we are all busy preparing

for the fast approaching 2014 season which

will include a total of seven NatWest T20 Blast

ixtures here at The Essex County Ground. We

are also proud to welcome Sri Lanka to

Chelmsford on Tuesday 13 May in a 50-over

day/night game.

By RoadThe Essex County Ground is situated in theCity Centre of Chelmsford. The city has goodroad connections with the A12, M11 and M25.To get to our main gate, drive to New LondonRoad. On reaching the crossroads which iscontrolled by traic lights, turn into NewWrittle Street. Drive for approximately 200metres and the gated entrance to the groundis on the right hand side.

ParkingPlease note there is very limited car parkingfacilities at The Essex County Ground onmatchdays. Parking is available at the HighChelmer multi-storey car park or in the councilcar park on George Street. Both car parks arewithin a 5 minute walk from the ground. Ampleparking is available on non-matchday events.
