In 2005, SICAME acquired the Medium Voltage underground accessories business from SAGEM Cables (also known as SILEC, now part of General Cable). Along with an extensive portfolio of customers and products, SICAME also acquired then all the know-how
material formulations and testing data.SICAME has leaped this experience into yet another dynamics supported

SICAME Group’s industrial dimension is deeply engraved in its DNA since its creation in 1955. Founded by 2 Engineers, SICAME grew up and built up a solid reputation based on the quality and reliability of its products since then. SICAME policy has always been a strong industrial integration. Thus, SICAME developed a recognized and appreciated knowhow in the 25 plants around the world for
customers. SICAME integrated and developed expertise over tools, processes and machines involved for the key manufacturing processes of the accessories. SICAME formulates its own resin, can inject plastics, transform silicone and EPDM rubber, machine the connectors and screws, expand the Heat and Cold shrink tubes to have them ready to install.

Our QSE policySince its creation in 1955, the quality of the products and services provided to customers is at the heart of the company’s concerns. SICAME Group gives great attention to designing and producing products and services that meet the requirements of international quality standards. The Group’s quality management allows the

Test resources and laboratories
at the heart of our R&D strategy
The laboratories
The Group wants to extend its COFRAC
accreditation via consistent investment
in test resources
One of the elements of the quality policy: type tests of all components
and full accessories in the laboratory with Cofrac accreditation
SICAME has built a very modern MV testing laboratory where are carried out initial tests of cable accessories according to standards and utilities
This laboratory named LABEP is located in Pompadour (France), next to
the Research and Development Center. Example tests: 126 ageing cycles
in the air/water, AC/DC tests, BIL, shorts circuits, PD (partial discharge). The
laboratory is also able to run any type of mechanical and electrical tests on
raw materials (elongation, mechanical stress, electrical resistance in kV/mm).

Innovation is in the heart of the SICAME development strategy. This strategy is based on three core principles: 1/ active participation in the ecosystem, 2/ the development of partnerships with universities and industrial companies, 3/ the creation of a dedicated innovation steering committee to analyze the trends impacting the future of the sector and propose strategies for innovation.
This form of organisation has a single objective: support and develop
innovation in order to accompany the energy and digital transition.Every day, SICAME engineers team design, develops accessories thatwill be used for work on the electrical networks and, more broadly, electrical equipment of the future. With technology constantly changing, the accessories are always more
environmental constraints.
Because innovation, for us, it is
competitive accessory, it’s also registering it from conception to itsdestruction, in a cycle of sustainable live. Like all activity areas of
engaged in this inseparable process of quality organization / environment.
INNOVATION is one of our greatest priorities
Everyday our engineering teams and researchers are working on tomorrow’s products and services.

Material selection to maximise robustness
EPDM rubber Naturally, EPDM materials present
superior properties when it comes to mechanical strength, tear resistance
and high molecular resistance to humidity. This is why EPDM material
is commonly the best solution for below grade applications
such as joints and derivations.
Silicone rubber
Presenting high performance with elasticity and hydrophobic behaviour,
silicone is typically suitable on the outdoor and indoor terminations, cold
shrink and push on.

JTpRFI: transition joints made simpleTransition joints are usually complex and tedious to install. This is over.JTpRFI has combined the best technique for each step of the installation: 1/ the mastic to prepare the cables,
2/ the cold-shrink electrical bodies 3/ easy to set-up injected resin protection.
EUERF: termination with patented application techni ueSICAME has developed a unique and patented system to apply cold shrink termination eliminating the most frustrating part of it:
application technique is associated with high quality silicone rubber for a long lasting termination even in

Full range of Heat Shrink accessories for splices and terminations for networks up to 36 kV, up to 630 mm² cables.
Joints - 1 & 3 cores -- JxPTH seriesSICAME heat-shrink joints include a unique 3-layer HS tube performing the electrical function of the accessory in a single step. This reduces the number of steps in the installation to a minimum and secures the electrical function of the joint.
Branch joints and transitionsOn top of the regular straight joints, SICAME has developed a complete set of transition and branch (Y-type, H-type) accessories. Based on the same 3-layer tube principle than the straight joints, these transitions and derivations accessories are saved from many steps and allow to accommodate legacy conductors with new generations in the best conditions.
Heat Shrink Terminations

Technology of Heat Shrink rubber materials
SICAME heat shrink material is a mixture of rubber and thermoplastic. In crosslink process, the rubber vulcanizes normally but not the thermoplastic: it just stays in crystalline nature, making a bond between molecules of rubber. When heated, the crystals of thermoplastic melt and the bonds between rubber molecules are cut, allowing the rubber to get back to its initial elasticity.
