The European Congress of Actuaries has established itself as one of the most important events in Europe. It provides opportunities for network-ing and encourages sharing of best practice among actuaries across Europe. While traditional areas are important it helps us open our eyes to wider fields like sustainability and advance predictive analytics.

With over 240,000 hectares of vineyards, Portugal is one of the most famous wine producing countries in Europe. One of the numerous vineyards is Quinta de Catralvos, located outside Lisbon in the middle of 25 hec-tares of vineyards.
As soon as the bus shuttles arrive at the vineyard, experienced guides will explain the most important facts on winemaking while guests can taste five locally produced wines. Portuguese
sausage and a local delicacy, Azeitão cheese, complete this culinary excursion.
Following the wine tasting, a four course dinner awaits the participants. The menu includes fish and meat and offers suitable alternatives for vegetarians or those with special dietary re-quirements on request. The shuttle buses leaving the venue from 21.45 until 22.30 will en-sure that all delegates safely return to downtown Lisbon.

The Actuarial Association of Europe (AAE) was established in 1978 under the name Groupe Consultatif to represent actuari-al associations in Europe. Its purpose is to provide advice and opinions to the various organi-sations of the European Union – the Commission, the Council of Ministers, the European Par-liament, EIOPA and their various committees – on actuarial is-sues in European legislation.
The AAE currently has 36 mem-ber associations in 35 European countries, representing over 25,000 actuaries.
Advice and comments provided by the AAE on behalf of the European actuarial profession are totally independent of in-dustry interests.

The Instituto dos Atuários Portugueses (IAP) was created in 1945 by some of the most important Portuguese personalities in mathematics, fi-nance and citizenship at the time. The IAP has more than 300 members.
The EAA – European Actuarial Academy was founded in 2005 by the actuarial associations of Austria, Germany, Switzerland and the Nether-lands and offers CPD for actuaries and CERAs on a cross-border basis. Its foundation was a re-sponse to the increased demand of Central and Eastern Europe countries for actuarial knowl-edge and expertise. In 2018 the EAA organised numerous seminars and webinars with approxi-mately 600 participants in different countries.
