The Background The UDL partners usually have the narrow
band link for the terrestrial return link The traffic from the partners go throughout
the narrow band link to Feed. For the narrow terrestrial link,partners can’t
use the UDL effectively.
UDL is wide-area broadcast link,but return link is point to point.The ability of Return link is various.
Motivation
Much Data traffic go throught the UDL,but the terrestrial return link is necessary Web browzing request packet File transfer request packet
We want to have a bidirectional communication using UDL Using Audio,and Movie

What is minimum requriment of the terrestrial link for some application
QoS is effective or not in Border Router This is depending of the partners network
I will research
Now I monitor the nature of UDLR network What a kinds of application is used? How much bandwidth is used?
I classify the UDLR network environment Application using is effectiv or not What kinds of return link do we need the UDL link? QoS is effective or not
Protocol monitoring
I use the “tcpdump”and “tcpdstat” Tcpdstat
We can get summary information of a tcpdump file.

Traffic monitoring①
Mrtg monitors the sfc-udl-feed.(http://www.ai3.net/op/mrtg/)But,we don’t know how much partners use in “udl shared link”

This tools is base on “rrdtool”,and my tiny program.
We can monitor the each partner’s traffic ,and the time trend.

Please make my account to the UDLR Router in your network I set up the measurement program in your router
By using the data,I classify the UDLR environment

I research what a kinds of QoS technology is effective Ex. Any queueing technology,duplicated pack
et methods
I design the tunnel relay router ,which purpose reduce the feed load,and decrease the pass router.
