    1. Introduction

In this project, I will be a mayor of a city and will have to investigate and propose afuture city. Before creating the city, I have to do some research about how to make asustainable and livable city and also research on ancient, present and future city.Investigate and refer to the important elements that can be used from the researchedcities.

I have to propose a small size city between 25-40 kilometer square. Besides that, Ihave to come up with some sketches and illustration of my future city. I have to includethis in the city planning:

o structure of the city.o focus of the cityo The zoning of the city.o People and activities.o Transportation and infrastructures.o Utility and amenities.o Energy.o Other services

    3. Investigation & Data Collection:Ancient Cities

Baghdad Ancient Round City , Iraq The City of Peace

Baghdad is founded by the Abbasid caliph al- Mansur in 762. Baghdads round plan found Persian precedents such as Ectabana, Hatra and Firouzabad. The city is designed by two Iranians. The city is measured as 2000m in diameter. There are four main gates, equidistant from each other, which are the:Southwest gate - Kufa Gate;Southeast gate - Basra Gate;Northeast gate- Khurasan Gate;Northwest gate - Damascus Gate.

The city is surrounded by a round wall. Whereas it is made by layered of dirt. It is made inround because it is easier to defend the city from the enemies, and does not has weak corneredpoints.

Leading from the gates to the centre, street lined with shops and markets. The centre of the city stood a mosque and Headquarters for the guards. A huge spaces are left in the middle of the city, where the purpose of use of its empty space is still remain unknown.

The circular arrangement of streets and gatesof Baghdad City reflects on the orbit of the planets .

Meanwhile, The palace and mosque as the

centre of the city is to reflects the sun as the centre of universe.

In conclusion, Baghdad is one of the mostunique round city in the ancient time and its ancientwall.

Therefore the elements that I'm going to useto build my Evergreen city are

The city is also surrounded by wall made out of layers of bricks that made of dirt, wherethe functions were to protect the city from the enemies.

Every 120 meters, there is a rampart, which in total, there are 98 ramparts stretched out,and it was to defense against the enemy from climbing up the wall.

Moreover, an ancient drainage was discovered at Chang'an - An arch-brick tunnels (2thousand years ago).

By holding arches, ancient Chinese invented smarter bricks for it. The bricks locked intoeach other and holds up, that's why the sewer can able to remain a long time.

In conclusion, Chang'an city was consider as a sustainable city because of its materialtechnology, from dirt to bricks, which surpasses the Roman's technology during that period .And that's the specialty of this ancient city.

Therefore the elements that I'm going to use to build my Evergreen city are The well-organized concept of the city pattern Defense of the city wall Sustainable underground sewage systems

Transportation in Tokyo is really convenient, with different lines of train, subways, monorails that lead to different areas of cities, from rural to suburban to city centers.

All the buildings are installed with base isolations, dampers, and shock absorbers toprevent earthquakes from falling the buildings apart.

The city situated by the bay and gradually establish from the center, from citycenter to suburban to rural area. The city plan was basically a grid pattern, but some part

of the city are randomly radial pattern.

In conclusion, Tokyo is a really sustainable city and a convenient one too. Itis really well prepared to natural disasters

Therefore the elements that I'm going to use to build my Evergreen city are Earthquakes prevention equipments Transportation

What I like about the city is the Community spirit and Green environment.

There are a lot of parks in the city for people to socialize, doing picnic, ballroom dancingetc.

I also like the cities' overlapping highways, which doesn't cause much traffic jams andreduce the time of travelling distance. These highways also modernize the city itself too.

In conclusion, Shanghai is expanding its economy and can be consider as one of the mostsustainable city too with its rapid development. People there love to involve in outdooractivities unlike some other cities, people just stays indoors with their works withoutcommunicating outdoors.

Therefore the elements that I'm going to use to build my Evergreen city are The overlapping of the highways Parks for people to leisure

Future CityAtlantis from Stargate Atlantis Series

Atlantis is a city that floats on water, flies on the sky, and skinks under the water. It is a cityship that passengers 100,000 people in it.

Energy Generators of the city is really unique which are the Lightning Rods, Zero PointModules, Geothermal Energy and Solar powered generators.

Lightning Rods attracts lighting and relocate it into grounding station to preventthe city from damage

Zero Point Modules a type of crystal that provide energy Geothermal energy - absorbed heat in the atmosphere and oceans Solar-powered generators Solar cells placed around the city

    7. Evergreen CityThe city name will be called as "Evergreen City", according to the Oxford Dictionary, Evergreendefines with leaves throughout the year. Where the city will be filled with leaves throughout theyears. The word "Ever" from "Evergreen" means everlasting, and sustainable too.My city will be floating on water while supported by 4 pillars that equipped with Water Turbine (toproduce energy through water) , Shock absorber, base isolation and also dampers inside it. It is onwater because the city that I'm going to enhance is known as lack of spaces, not enough land tobuild a new town, that's why I've decided to build it on the water by the bay instead, so thatpeople can access the city in and out easily.

Based on the Ancient, Future and Present cities that I've did researched on, some of the ideasinspired my cities, that's why I took some of their element as the inspirations of my city. Which are:

The circular arrangement of the city pattern (Baghdad) Four gates (Baghdad) The city wall (Baghdad) The well-organized concept of the city pattern (Chang'An) Defense of the city wall (Chang'An) Sustainable underground sewage systems (Chang'An) Earthquakes prevention equipments (Tokyo) Transportation (Tokyo)

The overlapping of the highways (Shang Hai) Parks for people to leisure (Shang Hai) The shield Defense the city from Natural Disasters and also sustain the temperature

throughout the year(Atlantis) Lightning rod can generates Energy too (Place on the centre of the city )(Atlantis) Solar-powered generators Solar cells placed around the city(Atlantis)

    8. The Process & Progress(Sketches & Process & Progress of the City)

A rough plan of my Citys Zoning: The heart of the city will be the City centre ,1. Tallest building Lightning Rod in the

middle2. City Hall3. Places for citizen to leisure:-Movie theater, Dome, Shopping centre

    4. There will be come commercial buildings inthe city centreResidential area should not be far from andCity centre, and filled with green zone andnearby facilities Industrial zone will be placed at the side of thecity , so that the industrial smoke will blowaway from the cityNorth gate and West gate of the city isconnected to the mainland with a retractableBridge .

Circular planning is used because of 3factors:

More convenient to travel Always return to the same

    point Everything moves circularly

    Subway + Heating + Plumbing + waterPiping + Electric Generation+ Wastes+ Sewerage/ Drainage

    Undergroundsystem,travellingcircularly

    9. Conclusion

Throughout this project, I learnt about creating the city is not just a simple things, itinvolves a lot of systems like the power supply, water distribution, sewage systems, road systems, etc.

Most importantly ,we have to build a city that is best for our people like providing themgreat facilities like greeneries, fresh air, education, safety etc. There are a lot things to think aboutbuilding a small city.

These are the criterias that I've applied on my city - Evergreen City , which make it the bestfuture city to live in.
