What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Digital Camera:The camera I used was my own. It is a Fujifilm Finepix AX280 14 megapixel camera. During the creation of my product, I learnt a lot about my camera. Mainly I learned how to use it well and effectively.Using it I also learnt more about lighting, shot types, camera angles and backdrops.I practised a lot with the camera shown in my blog as test shoots, I did that all to ensure the best possible results from my actual shoot. The high quality of this camera and the photographs it produces allowed me to take very good photos of almost as good quality of photos produced using a SLR digital camera.

Scanner:I used my scanner to scan in the magazines that I already owned that were of the same genre as my magazine. The scanner was also used to scan in my drawings, the drawings were of my original ideas for the magazine in the designing stages of creation of my product. Doing this I learnt not only how to use my scanner properly but also how to use the programs that I used to scan the scans in with. Some scans are shown below.

Adobe Photoshop:Prior to this project I had never used Adobe Photoshop before. Using it in this project. Photoshop was the main program I used throughout the creation of my product, from start in creating my Preliminary task, to end creating my final media product.Every single one of the photos I used on my product were edited in Photoshop in some way. Some more than others however as the picture that is supposedly taken whilst the artist in performing in concert in front of thousands of people had a background entirely created using Photoshop.

Microsoft Office Powerpoint:Powerpoint also played a vital role in the creation of my media product, as Powerpoint is the main program I used to record the creation of my media product. I then presented my Powerpoints using Scribd or Slide share on my blog.

Internet Explorer: Google

Internet Explorer: Blogspot

I used Google a lot to find information on anything and everything throughout my project. I used it to initially research magazines to begin helping me to design my own magazine, and I used it to research different magazines, different genres, and everything else that has gone into my planning, research and development. Google was a very useful tool in my project.

Blogspot.com is the site that I used to record everything to do with my project. Everything was recorded on to my project blog (www.asrebeccalukinscabot.blogspot.com). Blogspot is a good way to present work because you can present work in a variety of different ways, it is a very modern approach to presenting school work, and it is also much neater and safer than presenting work physically on paper in a portfolio – that way makes it prone to being lost or damaged, but this way – the internet keeps it safe.

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Internet Explorer: Slide share

Internet Explorer: dafont.comDafont.com is the website I used intially to research into fonts that I could use for the masthead of my magazine, and it is the website that then in the end provided me with the font that was used for the masthead of my magazine, as chosen by the survey I did on some people in my target age range. The highest number of people chose the font that was used in the end. Dafont.com allowed me to try and test lots of different fonts so I could offer a range of different fonts to my survey takers.

Slide share is a website used to create Embed powerpoint presentations. I used Slide share to present my presentations for the presentation of my evaluation on my blog.Slide share is just another feature that highlights the great versatility that blogspot blogs have to offer, it’s versatile because of the many different things you can do on it.

Internet Explorer: Scribd

Internet Explorer: company websitesI used websites of companies such as Country Weekly, Billboard, Frontline to find out information for my blog presentations. Much of the project required research into different real Media companies and products, and so to do this rather than relying on frequently wrong sites such as Wikipedia, I went straight to the source by going to the official websites for the thing I needed information regarding. This ensured that the information and content I found on said websites was legitimate.

Scribs is also a website used to create Embed powerpoint presentations. I used Scribd to present everything I presented using powerpoint on my blog except the evaluation.Scribd is also just another feature that highlights the great versatility that blogspot blogs have to offer, it’s versatile because of the many different things you can do on it.
