The Evaporative Tank, when combined with the ET- Companion Condenser, allows for evaporative recovery without exhausting any air to the atmosphere. The air is moisture-laden during its pass through the Evaporative Tank, then is routed to the ET-Companion Condenser, where the cooling coil recovers the water, which may be used again in the rinse stream, and sends the same air back to the Evaporative Tank to work again. There is no exhaust from the system, and evaporative recovery and/or waste volume evaporative reduction can be ac- complished without putting holes in the roof, or having to deal with air quality officials.

Smith thermal oxidizer designs achieve greater than 99% destruction/removal efficiency. Based on pro- cess conditions (solvent constituents and loadings), a shell-and-tube type heat exchanger is designed to re- cover from as low as 35% up to 80% of the energy generated during oxidation. The recovered energy is then reused by the system as a heat source, resulting in substantial fuel savings. Special designs are available for air streams containing silicones.
