Introduction

IBM® Cognos® Express® 10.2.2 provides you with full access to two IBM Enterprisesolutions:v IBM Cognos Business Intelligence (BI)

Cognos BI is a Web-based business intelligence solution with integratedreporting, analysis, scorecarding, and event management features.

v IBM Cognos TM1®

Cognos TM1 integrates business planning, performance measurement, andoperational data to enable companies to optimize business effectiveness andcustomer interaction regardless of geography or structure. Cognos TM1 providesimmediate visibility into data, accountability within a collaborative process, anda consistent view of information, allowing managers to quickly stabilizeoperational fluctuations and take advantage of new opportunities.

Audience

This guide is intended for system administrators who are familiar with CognosTM1 and Cognos BI concepts, administration, and processes.

Use this guide in either of these cases:v you are a new user who wants to install Cognos Express 10.2.2v you are an existing Cognos Express user who wants to upgrade to version 10.2.2

and migrate your content from an earlier version of Cognos Express

Chapter 1. The evolution of IBM Cognos Express

IBM Cognos Express 10.2.2 introduces new functionality for the Expresscommunity and fundamentally changes the way that Express is delivered.

IBM Cognos Express continues to provide midsize companies and work groupswith consistent, reliable information to answer critical business questions.However, to keep you up to date with the latest product fixes and new releases,Express no longer includes its own installation program. Instead, you candownload, install, and configure the latest IBM Cognos TM1 and IBM CognosBusiness Intelligence (BI) versions.

To meet the increasing demands of mid-market organizations, Cognos Express10.2.2 is delivered with limited license versions of IBM Cognos TM1 10.2.2 andIBM Cognos Business Intelligence 10.2.2. These products provide you with newcapabilities and components. You have immediate access to the latest productenhancements, product corrections, fix packs, and future versions of Cognos TM1and Cognos Business Intelligence as soon as they are released. Additionally, if youwant, you can install Cognos TM1 and Cognos BI on separate computers. Thenumber of Express user restrictions remains the same: a maximum of 100 users,including no more than 50 Performance Management users. Servers are subject to amaximum of 1600 Processor Value Units (PVU). See your license for specifics.

As a result of the new installation, certain capabilities that were previously builtinto Express are no longer available. Pre-set configuration, pre-defined namespacesand user/groups, Express Manager, integrated backup and restore, and remoteclient installation are replaced by the standard Cognos TM1 and Cognos BusinessIntelligence administrator functionality. It offers more flexibility and robustcapabilities, with options that were not previously available, such as setting upSSL.

Another benefit of the Express transition is that, if your organization outgrows itsExpress environment, you will only need to trade up and purchase anyadditionally required user licenses. You will already have installed the requiredsoftware.

Use this document to install Cognos Express 10.2.2 and to migrate existing CognosExpress deployments.

New capabilities and components

Cognos Express 10.2.2 provides these Business Intelligence enhancements:v simplified end-user functionality for greater user self-service:

– end-to-end analysis with personal data import for business users– support for customization of Rapidly Adaptive Visualization Engine

visualizations in IBM Cognos Report Studio and IBM Cognos WorkspaceAdvanced

– creation of reusable style templates for a consistent corporate identity thatincludes styles, fonts, and colors

– interactive maps in IBM Cognos Workspace

Cognos Express 10.2.2. provides these Performance Management enhancements:v New Microsoft Excel Client for IBM Cognos Analysis for Microsoft Excel

(formerly known as CAFE) allows for more advanced report building.v 64-bit versions of Microsoft Excel Client for IBM Cognos TM1, and IBM Cognos

Analysis for Microsoft Excel provide compatibility for organizations that use64-bit Microsoft Excel.

v IBM Cognos TM1 Web API incorporates Cognos TM1 web objects into customweb applications, portals, and dashboards.

v SSL support allows you to configure products so that they can use SSL for datatransmission security.

v Cognos TM1 Package connector lets you import data to Cognos TM1 fromRelational and Open Database Connectivity of Cognos Business Intelligencepackages.

Chapter 2. The Cognos Express environment

For the purposes of this document, the IBM Cognos Express environment will bedefined as a single Microsoft Windows computer on which both IBM Cognos TM1and IBM Cognos Business Intelligence are installed.

Previous versions of IBM Cognos Express gave users a preset install andconfiguration with the ability to manage both IBM Cognos Business Intelligenceand IBM Cognos TM1 on one Windows server.

IBM Cognos Express 10.2.2 can be set up in the same single server configuration.Although Express 10.2.2 users now install Cognos BI and Cognos TM1 using theirrespective installation programs and they can be installed on separate computers,they can still do so on one Windows computer - the "Cognos Expressenvironment".

Installation scenarios for an environment that resembles the CognosExpress 10.2.1 environment

To create a 10.2.2 server environment that closely resembles the IBM CognosExpress 10.2.1 environment, follow the Express installation scenarios for BI 10.2.2and TM1 10.2.2.

The Express installation scenario for IBM Cognos TM1

To create an IBM Cognos TM1 10.2.2 environment that is similar to the ExpressXcelerator environment in IBM Cognos Express 10.2.1, follow the steps inChapter 3, “Installing and configuring Cognos TM1,” on page 9.

The Express installation scenario for IBM Cognos BusinessIntelligence

To create an IBM Cognos Business Intelligence 10.2.2 environment that is similar tothe Express Reporter environment in IBM Cognos Express 10.2.1, follow the stepsin Chapter 4, “Installing and configuring Cognos Business Intelligencecomponents,” on page 21.

Note: The Cognos BI 10.2.2 installation scenario described in this document usesthe Quick Setup option in the Cognos BI installation program. The Quick Setupoption performs these tasks:v installs all components (application tier, gateway, Content Manager)v installs and configures a servlet gatewayv installs and configures IBM DB2 Advanced Workgroup Server Edition as the

content store databasev populates Content Manager configuration information within Cognos

BI software requirements in an Enterprise environment

If you plan to install IBM Cognos Business Intelligence in an Enterpriseenvironment, download and install the software components described in thefollowing table before you install the related Cognos BI components.

Requirement Specification

Web server If using the Quick Setup option (64-bit only), a servlet gateway is configuredas part of the installation, meaning that there is no need for a web server.Note: If you are not using the Quick Setup option, a web server must beinstalled and started.

Database The Quick Setup option (64-bit only) installs and configures IBM DB2®

Advanced Workgroup Server Edition. This option is not available if DB2 isalready installed.

Cognos Content Database can be installed and configured as the defaultcontent store database in a test or proof-of-concept system.

If you do not use the Quick Setup option, or install the Cognos ContentDatabase component, you can use another database, including your owninstance of IBM DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase, or Informix®.

Installing Cognos TM1 10.2.2Install the IBM Cognos TM1 10.2.2.0 major release before you install the latest fixpack release.

Important: It is strongly recommended that you install the latest released fix packafter you install TM1 10.2.2 and before you make any updates to the configuration.This applies to the server and to all client components on each computer thatconnects to the TM1 server. Before you begin

Complete these tasks:v Review the topic “TM1 platform and software requirements in the Express

environment” on page 4 in this document.v Download the IBM Cognos TM1 software from IBM Passport Advantage® and

follow the instructions in the Download Document (http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24033833).

v Ensure that you have administrator privileges for the computer on which youare installing software.

v Ensure that the computer has a TEMP system variable that points to thedirectory where you want to store temporary files. During installation, files aretemporarily copied to this directory.

v Ensure that the directories where you install IBM Cognos TM1 componentscontain only ASCII characters in the path name. Some Microsoft Windows webserver software does not support non-ASCII characters in directory names.

Procedure1. Go to the download location for the Cognos TM1 installation program that you

want to use.2. Go to the operating system directory to locate the issetup.exe command.

Tip: Select the installation program from the directory that corresponds to youroperating system. These choices are available:v TM1 for 64-bit Windows

Note: This is the preferred environment for IBM Cognos Express 10.2.2v TM1 for 32-bit Windows

3. Depending on your operating system software, right-click or double-click theissetup.exe file:v On the Microsoft Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 operating system

software, right-click the issetup.exe file and click Run as administrator.

v For all other Windows operating system software, double-click issetup.exe.4. Follow the directions in the installation wizard to select all of the components.

The components that you need to run the software are selected by default.

Note: If you do not want to install Cognos Insight or Cognos TM1Performance Modeler, skip the next step.

5. Ensure that Cognos Insight and Performance Modeler are selected.v To include Cognos Insight in the installation, expand the TM1 Client Tier

and then select Cognos Insight.v To include Cognos TM1 Performance Modeler in the installation, expand the

TM1 Developer Tier and select Performance Modeler.

6. Click Next until the installation begins.The installation runs until all components have been installed. This may take asignificant amount of time.

Tip: For earlier Windows operating systems, you can check Start CognosConfiguration on the last screen of the installation to immediately run theconfiguration tool. On Microsoft Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 operatingsystem software, do not check that box and instead use the Start menu so youcan choose Run as Administrator when launching Cognos Configuration.

7. Ensure that the installation is successful, and then, on the last page of thewizard, click Finish.

Configuring Cognos TM1Configure IBM Cognos TM1 to get the TM1 servers up and running, set the useraccount for TM1 services, and ensure that the TM1 components are runningproperly.

Starting the Cognos TM1 serversBefore you can use IBM Cognos TM1, you must start the TM1 Admin Server, theTM1 Application Server, and at least one TM1 sample database server.

Procedure1. If it is not already running, start Cognos Configuration by clicking Start > All

Programs > IBM Cognos TM1 - 64 > IBM Cognos Configuration.

Tip: Right-click and click Run as administrator on Windows 7 and WindowsServer 2008 operating system software.

2. Click Environment > TM1 Application server and update all localhost URIvalues to include a fully qualified domain name (FQDN).

3. In the Explorer pane, right-click TM1 Admin Server and click Start.

Tip: You should start the TM1 Admin Server first because it must be runningbefore any sample database can run.

4. When a message asks whether you want to save the settings, click Yes.

Tip: It may take several seconds to save the settings the first time that youstart the server.

5. Right-click TM1 Application Server, click Start, and when you are finished,click Close.

6. Expand Data Access > TM1 Server, right-click SData, click Start, and whenyou are finished, click Close.

Note: You can start other sample database servers. However, to integrate TM1with BI, you need only start the SData database.

7. Click File > Save.8. Click File > Exit.9. Click No when prompted to start other TM1 servers. SData will be the only

sample server used in this guide.

Configuring the user account that runs Cognos TM1 servicesYou must change the user account that runs IBM Cognos TM1 services from thedefault Microsoft Windows Local System Account to a user account on yourWindows computer.

By default, Cognos Configuration registers the following Cognos TM1 services torun under the Microsoft Windows Local System Account:v Cognos TM1 Admin Serverv Cognos TMI Server

Important: Before you run TM1, change the user account that runs Cognos TM1services to a user account on your Windows computer.

There are two steps to configure the user account:1. In Windows, designate a user account and grant it sufficient Windows

privileges.2. Change the default system account that runs TM1 services to the user account

that you selected.

Configuring a Microsoft Windows user account for Cognos TM1servicesIn Microsoft Windows, configure a user account so that it has sufficient privilegesto run IBM Cognos TM1 services.

About this task

Use the Security Settings and Group Policy features in Microsoft Windows toconfigure security privileges. For example, in Microsoft Windows 7, clickAdministrative Tools > Local Security Policy, and then click to expand SecuritySettings > Local Policies > User Rights Assignment. For more information, see theMicrosoft Windows documentation.

Procedure1. Designate a user account from the Windows Administrators group that will run

TM1 services.

Tip: Later on, after you set up the BI Active Directory, you will add this useraccount to TM1 server as an Administrator.

2. Ensure that the user account you selected in the previous step is included inthe database owner group.This will allow TM1 server to access SQL tables and views.

3. Depending on which version of Windows you are running, ensure that the useraccount has the following privileges:v Act as part of the operating systemv Bypass traverse checkingv Increase quotas (Adjust memory quotas for a process)v Replace a process level tokenv Log on as a service

Note: Not all of these properties are available in all versions of Windows, suchas Windows Server 2008 R2 and newer. See the Microsoft Windowsdocumentation for the currently available properties.

4. Ensure that the user account has read and write privileges in the WindowsRegistry.For more information, see the topic Assign permissions to a registry key(https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc728310) on the Microsoft website.

Changing the user account that runs TM1 servicesAfter designating a user account and granting it Windows permissions to run TM1services, you must assign the account to the TM1 services.

Assign the account to the following TM1 services:v Cognos TM1 Admin Serverv Cognos TM1 Serverv SData

Note: You can assign the user account to additional database servers if you want.However, you only need to run the SData server for BI integration.

Procedure1. Open the Windows Services window.2. For each Cognos TM1 Windows service that you want to update, follow these

steps:a. Locate the service.b. Right-click the service and click Stop.c. Right-click the service and click Properties.d. Select the Log On tab.e. Enter the name of the user account that you configured.f. Choose a password, confirm the password, and then click OK.g. Close the Windows Services window.For more information on the rights that this user account should have, see Useraccounts for running Cognos TM1 services on Windows (http://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SS9RXT_10.2.2/com.ibm.swg.ba.cognos.tm1_inst.10.2.2.doc/c_tm1serviceaccount_n701df.html%23TM1ServiceAccount_N701DF).

Testing the configuration of Cognos TM1 componentsAfter you set up the initial IBM Cognos TM1 configuration files, check that theTM1 components run properly. This ensures that you can integrate TM1 with IBMCognos Business Intelligence and Cognos Access Manager (CAM) security later.

Testing components from the Cognos TM1 Applications portalEnsure that you can run both IBM Cognos Insight and IBM Cognos PerformanceModeler from TM1 Applications.

Procedure1. In a browser window, type the fully qualified name that you specified in

Cognos Configuration for the TM1 Application Server Gateway URI property.http://TM1Server.Domain.Company.com:9510/pmpsvc

2. If you see the following warning message, you can ignore it. The issue will beresolved later in the setup. Click Close.

3. Log in using the default administrator username and password:v Username: adminv Password: apple

4. From the Cognos TM1 Applications portal, click the Open IBM Cognos Insight

Procedure1. From the Start menu, click All Programs > IBM Cognos TM1 - 64 > Architect.2. Expand TM1, double-click SData, and then log in with the default

administrator credentials:v Username: adminv Password: apple

3. Ensure that you are successfully logged in, and ensure that you can see cubesand dimensions in the SData tree structure.

Procedure1. From the Start menu, launch Perspectives and ensure that the TM1 Excel

add-on is launched and that the TM1 menu item is visible.

Note: In Microsoft Windows Excel, you might encounter the followingsecurity warning:

2. To resolve the issue, close the Microsoft Excel Security Notice dialog box.3. Click File > Options.4. Select Trust Center.5. Click Trust Center Settings.6. Select Trusted Locations.7. Click Add new location.8. In the Path field, type the location of your tm1p.xla file.

Important: If you have a 64-bit version of Microsoft Excel installed, thedefault path is TM1InstallRoot/bin64.

If you have a 32-bit version of Microsoft Excel installed, the default path isTM1InstallRoot/bin.

Procedure1. In the browser, enter the URL for the TM1 Web portal.

Tip: The default location is http://TM1Servername.Domain.Company.com:9510/tm1web/

2. Ensure that the initial logon dialog is displayed and then log on with thedefault administrator credentials:v Username: adminv Password: apple

3. Click Login.4. Ensure that the portal is launched and displays cubes and views from the

SData server.5. Double-click PNLCube and ensure that the view is displayed in the right

workspace.

6. Exit TM1 Web.

Preparing to install Cognos Analysis for Microsoft ExcelInstall IBM Cognos Analysis for Microsoft Excel (formerly known as CAFE) to usewith IBM Cognos TM1 data sources to enter and write back values to TM1 cubes.

You can also create a command button in Cognos Analysis for Microsoft Excel toreplicate the action button functionality from IBM Cognos TM1 Perspectives.

IBM Cognos Analysis for Microsoft Excel enables Microsoft Excel users to directlyaccess centrally controlled and secured IBM Cognos information for improveddecision-making. Cognos Analysis for Microsoft Excel is a Microsoft Excel-basedtool that professional report authors use to build sophisticated, multiple-sheet,multiple-query reports against multiple databases. With IBM Cognos Analysis forMicrosoft Excel, you can use IBM Cognos data inside Microsoft Excel to exploreand analyze data and create reports, such as invoices, statements, and weekly salesand inventory reports.

Configuring Cognos BI securityUse IBM Cognos Configuration to configure your IBM Cognos BusinessIntelligence security settings. BI uses Cognos Access Manager (CAM)authentication.

Procedure1. From the Windows Start menu, click All Programs > IBM Cognos 10 - 64 >

IBM Cognos Configuration.2. Click Environment and ensure that all parameters include the fully qualified

domain name (FQDN) server name and not localhost.

3. Configure Cognos Access Manager (CAM) security.a. Click Security > Authentication > Cognos and set the Allow Anonymous

You can install IBM Cognos Framework Manager, the metadata modeling tool forIBM Cognos Business Intelligence, on the same computer as other IBM Cognos BIcomponents, or on a different computer.

Note: Framework Manager is available as a 32-bit installation only.

Prerequisites for installing Framework Manager

Before you install Framework Manager, the following conditions must be met:v You have administrator privileges for the Windows computer on which you are

installing Framework Manager.v You have installed and configured all IBM Cognos BI server components.v The installation path contains only ASCII characters.v The installation location is different than the location of the 64-bit IBM Cognos

BI server components.

5. On the Installation Location page, select the default Production option.6. Select the default components in the Component Selection page and click

Next.7. If a message appears about supplementary languages documentation, click

OK.8. Do not select Start IBM Cognos Configuration on the last page of the

10. Install the latest BI fix pack to update Framework Manager.

Configuring the Cognos TM1 ServerEdit the default tm1s.cfg file that is created when you install the IBM Cognos TM1Server. Most parameters are required for IBM Cognos Business Intelligenceintegration and security. However, some parameters are also required for TM1planning applications.

About this task

Updates are also required for each of the TM1 servers that are required to integrateand use Cognos Access Management (CAM) security.

The following integration test works with the SData server in the samples directory(TM1_Install_Directory\samples\tm1\SData).

You must complete this procedure only once for each of the users who access TM1servers to complete administration tasks. This procedure usually applies to theTM1 server administrator account profile on Windows. This file applies to all TM1servers on the same admin server.

Procedure1. Launch Cognos Architect, and then log into the SData server using the default

credentials:v Username: adminv Password: apple

2. When you are logged in, ensure that you can see views and cubes in the server.3. Exit Architect. The user tm1p.ini file is created.4. Navigate to C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Applix\TM1, and open the

Adding a Cognos Business Intelligence user as the CognosTM1 administrator

You must select an IBM Cognos Business Intelligence power user from the CognosBI Active Directory, assign IBM Cognos TM1 administrator privileges to that user,and then add the user to the TM1 server.

Important: In this document, this power user is referred to as the BI/TM1administrator. You must sign in as the BI/TM1 administrator when you migratecontent from previous versions of IBM Cognos Express. For more information, see"Migrating Cognos BI content from Cognos Express 10.2.1 to Cognos BI 10.2.2".

About this task

You launch Architect and log in as the default TM1 server admin with the defaultpassword (admin/apple). To successfully administer IBM Cognos TM1 while youare using IBM Cognos Business Intelligence security for authentication, an existingCognos user must be added to the Cognos TM1 ADMIN group. This Cognos useris used to import Cognos groups into Cognos TM1.

Procedure1. Open the tm1s.cfg file in Notepad.2. Ensure that the TM1 security mode is set to 1. That is,

IntegratedSecurityMode=1

3. Save and exit the file.4. Log in to Cognos TM1 Architect as an administrator.5. In Server Explorer, right-click SData, and then click Security >

Clients/Groups.

6. From the Clients/Groups dialog box, click Clients > Add New Client. TheCognos logon dialog box opens.

7. Log on as the BI power user.8. Enter your Cognos user ID and password and click OK.9. In the Available Entries box, click the namespace to which you are currently

logged in.

Restriction: Only users from the namespace (Active Directory) to which youare logged in can be imported into TM1.The Name box updates to display the directories that are available on theselected namespace.

10. Enable the Show users in the list option.11. Search for a name or navigate to the directory that contains the Cognos user

whom you want to define as a TM1 administrator. In most circumstances, youdefine your own Cognos user name as a TM1 administrator, because you mustknow the Cognos user's ID and password to complete administrative tasks.

12. Select the user.13. Click the arrow icon to move the selected user to the Selected Entries list.

14. Click OK to import the Cognos user into TM1. The user appears as a newclient in the Client/Groups window, but the user is not assigned to any TM1groups.

15. Assign the new user to the ADMIN group and click OK.

16. Click OK and exit Architect.17. Shut down the TM1 server.18. Open the tm1s.cfg file in Notepad.19. Change TM1 security mode to 5 by updating the following parameter:

20. Save and exit the file.21. Restart the TM1 Admin service and SData service from Windows Services.

Important: If you try to restart the server from the TM1 configuration file, itmight fail with the following warning message:Cryptography][ERROR ] CAM-CRP-1315 Current configuration points toa different Trust Domain than originally configured.[Cryptography][ERROR ] The cryptography information was not generated.

a. Close and exit the configuration and select No to save.b. To troubleshoot this error, follow the steps in the topic “Cryptography

errors when starting a Cognos TM1 or Cognos BI service” on page 110.c. Save the configuration and exit.

22. Launch Architect and double-click SData.a. Ensure that you are prompted with the CAM authentication namespace

dialog box.b. Enter the Active Directory user that was added as the TM1 Admin user.c. Ensure that the user is logged on and has access to all cubes in SData.

23. Exit Architect.

Importing Cognos groups into Cognos TM1After you define an IBM Cognos user as the IBM Cognos TM1 administrator, thatuser can import Cognos groups into TM1. You should import only the Cognosgroups that you want to have access to the TM1 server.

Procedure1. In the Server Explorer, double-click your TM1 server. The Cognos login dialog

box opens.2. Log in as the Cognos user that you defined as the TM1 administrator.3. From the Server Explorer, click Server > Security > Clients/Groups.4. From the Clients/Groups window, click Groups > Add New Groups.5. In the Names box, click the namespace to which you are currently connected.

Restriction: Only groups from the namespace to which you are connected canbe imported into Cognos TM1. Other namespaces might appear in the Namebox, but you cannot import groups from them.

6. Navigate through the directory structure and select the Cognos groups that youwant to import into Cognos TM1.

7. Click the arrow icon to move the selected user to the Selected Entries list.8. Click OK to import the Cognos groups into TM1.

Results

If you review the User Group Assignment section of the Clients/Groups window,you can see the Cognos groups that were added to your server.

When the TM1 server is configured to use Cognos authentication, you cannotcreate new clients directly on the TM1 server. Instead, all client administration isperformed in Cognos.

When a Cognos user accesses TM1, the user is validated and automaticallyassigned to the appropriate TM1 groups. There is no need to manually assign usersto groups in TM1.

Although Cognos authentication automatically manages users on the TM1 server,the TM1 administrator must still manage object security to allow Cognos users toview and use TM1 objects.

Procedure1. Locate the c10_location\configuration\icd\contributions\contrib directory,

and rename the tm1_contribution.atom.sample file to tm1_contribution.atom.2. Open the tm1_contribution.atom file in a text editor. The file contains

three <atom:entry> sections. You must change the values in one <atom:entry>section for each TM1 server that you want to access in IBM Cognos Workspace.If you want to add more TM1 servers, you must add the appropriate numberof <atom:entry> sections. You must also comment out any extra <atom:entry>sections. The third <atom:entry> section in the sample file is alreadycommented out.

3. This step shows how to update the second <atom:entry> section that includesthe rootfeed title 2 and rootfeed summary 2 parameters. This entry is for a TM1server that uses Cognos authentication.a. In the second <atom:entry>, replace TM1WebHostName and TM1HostName

Configuring and starting the Cognos TM1 Operations ConsoleTo launch the IBM Cognos TM1 Operation Console using IBM Cognos BusinessIntelligence authentication, you must first configure parameters in the pmhub.htmlfile and assign appropriate security privileges to the Cognos Access Managergroups.

Prerequisite

The pmhub.html file in Cognos_BI_installation_location\webcontent must includethe fully qualified domain name and port number of the TM1 Applications servicethat runs the TM1 Operations Console. For more information, see “Configuring thePM Hub server” on page 37.

Configuring the Cognos TM1 Operations Console for CognosAccess Management authentication

Check that the IBM Cognos TM1 Operations Console works properly when youare using Cognos Access Manager (CAM) authentication.

With the exception of user management and storage and backup andrestore functionality, most other components continue to be supported, in additionto new features unlocked in TM1 and BI.

Supported modules in Cognos Express 10.2.1IBM Cognos Express 10.2.1 was divided into three tiers: the Presentation Tier, theApplication Tier, and the Data Tier.

The left side of the following figure illustrates the client components that make upthe Presentation Tier. All applications that can be installed on or run from the enduser's computer and communicate with the Cognos Express server componentsmake up the Application Tier are in the middle section of the figure. The right sideof the figure illustrates the Data Tier where the business data and IBM Cognoscontent repositories reside. Also shown are the following modules of CognosExpress:v Express Corev Express Xceleratorv Express Advisorv Express Reporterv Express Planner

Express Core in Cognos Express 10.2.1The Application Tier contains all components that are available after IBM CognosExpress 10.2.1 is installed.

The Application Tier contains the following components:v The Informix Dynamic Server (IDS) instancev The IBM Cognos Analytic Server (ICAS)v Express Manager

v A dispatcherv The Content Manager

The dispatcher, Content Manager, and Express Manager are all Java servlets thatare deployed in the built-in Apache Tomcat Java Application Server. The dispatcheris the Cognos Express 10.2.1 default entry point that is responsible for dispatchingthe incoming requests to the appropriate services according to their type. TheContent Manager is the component that is responsible for the management andstorage of Cognos Express content in the Content Store. It also makes the DataAdvisor and Architect modeling tools available for download in the PresentationTier.

When the Express Core is running, the rest of the Cognos Express 10.2.1 modulescan be downloaded and installed through the Express Manager Console (thegraphical user interface of Express Manager) as depicted in the Presentation Tier.

Cognos Express 10.2.1 uses a pre-configured, scaled down instance of InformixDynamic Server (IDS) as its content repository. Alongside the Content Store, thedatabase used and managed by the Content Manager to store all Cognos Expresscontent, an additional Cognos Content Database has been added to the Informixinstance. The Express Store, which is managed by Express Manager, contains theinformation about the managed data sources and users. The Cognos ContentManager also uses the Express Store as its authentication database for the built-inCognos Express security namespace.

For more information about the Express Core module, see the illustration in“Supported modules in Cognos Express 10.2.1” on page 68.

Express Core in Cognos Express 10.2.2In IBM Cognos Express 10.2.2, some components are no longer installed orconfigured during the initial core installation. Those components are replaced withan integrated enterprise version of IBM Cognos Business Intelligence 10.2.2.

The following components from Cognos Express 10.2.1 are replaced with anintegrated enterprise version of Cognos Business Intelligence 10.2.2.

The Informix Dynamic Server (IDS) instance

IDS is no longer installed to store content and user information. IDS isreplaced by a DB2 server to store content and server as Content Store tomanage content and security policies. The DB2 server is installed when theQuick Install option is selected during the BI installation.

The IBM Cognos Analytic Server (ICAS)

ICAS is replaced by the TM1 server component and sample servers. Alicensed restricted version of the TM1 enterprise is deployed to replaceICAS, using the full functionality of the TM1 server and its features.

Express Manager

Express Manager and Manager Page are no longer supported. Alladministrative options are controlled through the BI Administrative portaland the TM1 administrator profile.

A dispatcherCognos Express through Business Intelligence now installs a WebSphereLiberty Profile as the application server. The legacy built-in Apache Tomcatis no longer installed with Cognos Express.

The Content Manager

The new BI Quick Setup option now installs and configures IBM DB2Advanced Workgroup Server Edition as the content store database,replacing the built-in default Informix in Cognos Express 10.2.1. This newfeature optimizes the installation and base configuration of Cognos ExpressServer 10.2.2 and DB2 10.5 (for the content store) and completes allnecessary setup tasks to have a content store that is comparable toInformix in version 10.2.1. With the termination of support for IDS as acontent store, the additional Express Store database that was storingmanaged data source status and users is no longer supported. Manageddata sources were enabled through the main Express Manager portal withthe identification of Managed, along with data and the status of the datasource. This was applicable to compatible query mode only and hadlimited provider support. This functionality is now managed throughFramework Manager and the Cognos Administration and Configurationportal.

Express Reporter in Cognos Express 10.2.1In IBM Cognos Express 10.2.1, you used Reporter to use Report Studio, QueryStudio, Cognos Workspace and Workspace Advanced, which are located in thePresentation Tier. The supported database servers have changed in Cognos Express10.2.2.

Express Reporter makes the Framework Manager modeling tool available fordownload. Express Reporter also adds the Report Service components, which areresponsible for accessing the business data, to the Express dispatcher.

The following illustration shows the supported database servers for versions 10.2.1and 10.2.2.

Note: IBM Cognos Query Studio and IBM Cognos Analysis Studio are deprecatedin IBM Cognos BI and are not supported in Express 10.2.2. For more information,see “Query Studio and Analysis Studio not supported in Express 10.2.2” on page119.

Express Xcelerator in Cognos Express 10.2.1When you installed the Express Xcelerator module in IBM Cognos 10.2.1, you wereable to use the Xcelerator Web (TM1 Web) features, and the Xcelerator Excel clienttool (Perspectives) was available for download. These Presentation Tiercomponents used the ICAS server components to access the data that must beanalyzed or entered.

For more information about the Express Xcelerator module, see the illustration in“Supported modules in Cognos Express 10.2.1” on page 68.

Express Xcelerator in Cognos Express 10.2.2In IBM Cognos Express 10.2.2, IBM Cognos Express Xcelerator is replaced with thefull version of IBM Cognos TM1 Web, which is installed through TM1 installationin the TM1 Web Application Tier.

The Cognos Express Xcelerator Excel client is replaced with IBM Cognos TM1Perspectives, which is available through the TM1 client installation. All Xceleratorand Xcelerator client features are supported in Cognos Express 10.2.2.

Express Advisor in Cognos Express 10.2.1In IBM Cognos Express 10.2.1, the Express Advisor module added the Advisor webclient to the software download page in the Presentation Tier. It also added theAdvisor server component, Executive Viewer Server, to the Application Tier. Thisenabled Advisor to create analysis views based on ICAS cubes.

For more information about the Express Advisor module, see the illustration in“Supported modules in Cognos Express 10.2.1” on page 68.

Express Advisor and Data Advisor in Cognos Express 10.2.2In IBM Cognos Express 10.2.2, Advisor and Data Advisor are not installed andmigrated content is not supported.

Express Planner in Cognos Express 10.2.1In IBM Cognos Express 10.2.1, the Express Planner module added and deployedthe Planner server component as a servlet into the Tomcat Application Server inthe Application Tier. The Express Planner also made the Performance Modeler andCognos Insight, located in the Presentation Tier, available for download.

For more information about the Express Planner module, see the illustration in“Supported modules in Cognos Express 10.2.1” on page 68.

Express Planner in Cognos Express 10.2.2In IBM Cognos Express 10.2.2, the Planner portal is installed directly from the TM1Web Application Tier component.

The Express Planner portal is available through the default URLhttp://localhost:9510/pmpsvc.

IBM Cognos Performance Modeler is an optional component that you can install inthe TM1 Developer Tier.

Cognos Insight is an optional component that you can install in the TM1 ClientTier.

Authentication methods in Cognos Express 10.2.1The installation of IBM Cognos Express 10.2.1 enabled two security namespaces:the built-in Cognos namespace and the cognosexpress Custom Java AuthenticationProvider namespace. In addition to these default namespaces, you had the optionof enabling an Active Directory namespace.

Cognos namespaceThe Cognos namespace was the built-in namespace containing a set ofpredefined roles used for mapping users from any other supportednamespace to specific pieces of functionality. Users could not be created inthis namespace and, as a result, it was not available for authentication.

cognosexpress namespaceThe cognosexpress namespace, a Custom Java Authentication Provider(CJAP) created with the IBM Cognos Java SDK, was the default form ofauthentication in Cognos Express 10.2.1. It was managed in ExpressManager and its objects (users) were stored in the express store. Wheneveran authentication event occurred, CAM, a component located within theContent Manager which was responsible for security, queried this expressstore through the CJAP. This namespace did not support Single Sign-on(SSO).

Active Directory namespaceThe Active Directory namespace was the recommended authenticationmethod to integrate Cognos Express into the corporate securityinfrastructure. Single Sign-On (SSO) into the Cognos Express environmentcould be achieved only by using this namespace because it was the onlyone that supported Kerberos SSO.

Authentication methods in Cognos Express 10.2.2In IBM Cognos Express 10.2.2, authentication methods have been updated.

Cognos namespaceThe default predefined roles and groups are no longer available when youinstall version Cognos BI 10.2.2. You can restore all groups and roles in theCognos namespace by exporting a deployment archive in Express 10.2.1and then importing it in Cognos BI 10.2.2. For more information, see “TheCognos Business Intelligence content migration process” on page 82.

cognosexpress namespaceThe default Custom Java Authentication Provider was specific to CognosExpress legacy products and was contained in Express server environmentto manage users and security. It is recommended that users migrate allusers to an Active Directory prior to upgrading to Cognos Express 10.2.2.Express CJAP is no longer supported in version 10.2.2. It is replaced byActive directory or LDAP support in 10.2.2.

Active Directory namespaceThis preferred method of authentication is transferred to new Express/BIconfiguration settings by recreating the namespace to preserve all assignedsecurity. You might need to revisit the Cognos groups and roles to ensurethat all user assignments to groups are preserved. Alternatively, you canchoose any other authentication namespaces in BI Configuration that arecompatible with TM1 integrated security settings.

Administrative tasksWhen you migrate from IBM Cognos Express 10.2.1 to IBM Cognos Express 10.2.2,the methods of performing the following administrative tasks have changed:v backup and restorev managed data sourcesv software administrationv user administrationv security

Backup and restore feature in Cognos Express 10.2.1The backup and restore feature in IBM Cognos Express is designed to ensure thatyour data is preserved if, for example, a hardware problem or some other issuecorrupted your Express installation.

In Cognos Express 10.2.1, the procedure consisted of backing up content andmaking a copy of the data.

The restore feature consisted of importing backed up content to continue workingin a new or existing Express environment with no loss of data. The restoreoperation upgraded content from previous versions of Express to the latest versionbecause they all had a common infrastructure and content storage database server.

Backup and restore feature in Cognos Express 10.2.2Because Informix is no longer the default content store and the Express repositoryfor IBM Cognos Express 10.2.2, all content and user information must be restoredmanually.

It is strongly recommended that you perform a final backup of the content inCognos Express 10.2.1 and archive it because it contains TM1 data and additionalconfiguration files that might be required as a reference. You must move TM1 datafiles manually.

Managed data sources in Cognos Express 10.2.1When you create a data source in IBM Cognos Express Manager, you can add,delete, or republish it later using Cognos Express Manager. This type of datasource is called a managed data source.

The data source that you created is visible as a row on the Administration - Datapage. Because you added the data source using Cognos Express Manager, the wordManaged is visible in the Managed State column. The new data source is availableto Cognos Express users in IBM Cognos Connection. These data sources are storedin Express Store on the Informix server.

Managed data sources in Cognos Express 10.2.2The Express Manager administration portal is no longer supported in IBM CognosExpress 10.2.2. This feature is moved into the normal Framework Manager andIBM Cognos Business Intelligence Administration portal.

You now have additional options in Cognos Administration and Configuration tocreate data sources and publish packages for most providers. You can also useFramework Manager to create advanced data sources and packages.

Software administration in Cognos Express 10.2.1In IBM Cognos Express 10.2.1, the Software tab in Express ManagerAdministration was used to manage software installations using the Expressnamespace and groups. The Express administrator enabled and disabled softwarefor Express user groups and managed installations and updates through serverupgrades.

A client upgrade in the server prompted all clients that were connecting to theserver to upgrade and match the version in the server.

Software administration in Cognos Express 10.2.2In IBM Cognos Express 10.2.2, software administration is no longer supported aspart of the Express Manager Administration. All client software is now distributedby the IBM Cognos Business Intelligence and IBM Cognos TM1 administrators asstand-alone BI and TM1 installation packages.

Cognos Insight and Performance Modeler continue to provision to the clientcomputers through the BI and or TM1 portals.

User administration in Cognos Express 10.2.1In IBM Cognos 10.2.1, Express Administrator creates and manages users andgroups accessing the Express portal. The administrator can access custom groupsand roles created in Cognos security to assign users to the new groups.

The following default Express groups were created when all products wereinstalled:v Express Administratorsv Express Usersv Express data Advisor Usersv Express Architect Usersv Express Framework Manager Usersv Express Xcelerator Client Users

Users created here are stored in the Informix database along with the groupassignments.

User administration in Cognos Express 10.2.2The default cognosexpress Custom Java Authentication Provider namespace wasexclusive to IBM Cognos Express legacy products and was contained in the IBMCognos Express server environment to manage users and security.

You should migrate all users to an Active Directory before upgrading to CognosExpress 10.2.2. Cognos Express user names cannot be migrated as part of thetransition to Cognos Express 10.2.2.

Security in Cognos Express 10.2.2Security content that was predefined in IBM Cognos Express Manager or in IBMCognos Administration is not automatically transferred when you migrate to IBMCognos Express 10.2.2.

If you deploy access permissions to the target environment, the referenced usersand groups must exist in the target environment. For access permissions to workafter entries are deployed, the source environment and target environment must

use the same authentication provider with the same configuration. If the CognosExpress roles are required in the target environment, they must be recreated usingIBM Cognos Administration.

All IBM Cognos TM1 security modes are supported in Cognos Express 10.2.2.When you upgrade from a previous Express environment, it is best to upgradeActive Directory users because the default Express namespace is no longersupported.

Groups and roles that were assigned users using Express custom Javaauthentication cannot be restored. If you have assigned Active Directory users toCognos Groups and roles, these roles and groups will be migrated and you canreconnect to the same Active Directory and activate users in the target server.

Note: Other solutions and utilities are available to support migration. For example,the Security Replication Tool is available from the IBM Software Accelerated ValueProgram. This tool automates the process of copying IBM Cognos BI users, groups,and roles from an existing namespace to a new namespace. For more information,see IBM Cognos SDK Solutions and Diagnostic Tools (http://www.ibm.com/software/data/support/cognos_diagnostictools.html).

Remote installation of client software in Cognos Express 10.2.1In IBM Cognos Express 10.2.1, the Express management portal controls clientsoftware installation of the remote clients. Clients connect to the Express serverportal with assigned credentials and download and install client software.

This method of installation preserved the Express server name and used it toconfigure the client configuration to connect to the server. In addition, anysoftware updates on the server side were detected in all connected clients andwere prompted to upgrade clients to match the upgraded service pack in theserver.

When all products are installed, the following clients were accessible through theWelcome page/Download Express Software to My Computer page:v Architectv Data Advisorv Framework Managerv Xcelerator client

These components are fully configured when installed on the Express client orserver.

In addition, Cognos Insight and Performance Modeler are available in Express10.2.1:v When the Express Planner portal is installed, users can download and configure

both Cognos Insight and Performance Modeler by clicking the associated icon.v When Express Reporter is installed, users can download and configure Cognos

Insight by clicking the associated icon in IBM Cognos Connection.v Cognos Insight and Performance Modeler are also available as standalone

applications from the Start menu. However, they are not configured whenlaunched.

Remote installation of client software in Cognos Express10.2.2

In IBM Cognos Express 10.2.2, all local or remote supported client installations onclients are enabled through Express administrator. The user has access to the maininstallation software on the network or a shared solution to download and installlocally.

You must configure each part of the client software to communicate and connectwith the Cognos Express server. Auto configuration during installation is no longeravailable.

Data Advisor is no longer included in Cognos Express 10.2.2.

When you upgrade the IBM Cognos Business Intelligence or IBM Cognos TM1server, you must ensure that all clients connecting to the server are notified andupgraded to match the server version.

Installation and configuration of Cognos Framework ManagerThe first step in installing client software for IBM Cognos Express 10.2.2 is toinstall and configure Framework Manager.

For information about installing Framework Manager in an Express 10.2.2environment, see “Installing and configuring Cognos Framework Manager” onpage 27.

Note: If you require more detailed information about installing FrameworkManager in an enterprise environment, see Install and configure IBM CognosFramework Manager (http://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSEP7J_10.2.2/com.ibm.swg.ba.cognos.inst_cr_winux.10.2.2.doc/c_install_fm.html%23Install_FM).

When installation and configuration is complete, ensure that clients are able toconnect to the Cognos Express server and view existing data sources or create newdata sources.

Installation of TM1 APIs

In previous versions of IBM Cognos Express, as part of the IBM Cognos TM1installation, required TM1 API files were also installed on all clients that installedIBM Cognos Framework Manager to enable Cognos BI reporting against CognosTM1 data sources.

In Cognos Express 10.2.2, each client that installs Framework Manager must ensurethat they use the Cognos TM1 client installation program to install the requiredCognos TM1 APIs into an adjacent directory on all Cognos BI servers that arerunning query and report services on Microsoft Windows.

Installation of Cognos Insight from a Cognos serverIBM Cognos Insight is already functional on the IBM Cognos server as part of theIBM Cognos Connection Installer for Cognos Insight (CCICI) and IBM CognosTM1 custom installation.

Client computers connecting to Cognos Express BI and Cognos TM1 portals will beprovisioning an instance of Cognos Insight on local client computers when grantedaccess to provision, launch, and connect to the server.v If the client uses Cognos Connection to publish and distribute or to share

applications to the BI portal, Cognos Insight is provisioned from the BI WelcomePage or from Cognos Connection.

v If the client is a planning client, they can install Cognos Insight from theplanning portal by clicking the Cognos Insight icon on the menu.

When the installation and configuration is complete, ensure that you can connectto the Express TM1 server and view and launch TM1 server and cubes.

Installation of Cognos TM1 Performance ModelerPerformance Modeler is already installed on the server and you have verified thatit connects to the IBM Cognos TM1 server with CAM authentication. Clientcomputers that connect to the TM1 Application portal can provision PerformanceModeler if they have appropriate rights.

To use existing IBM Cognos Express 10.2.1 BI content in IBM Cognos BI 10.2.2, youmust migrate the content to your new Express 10.2.2 environment.

Important: The backup and restore functionality of Cognos Express 10.2.1 is notsupported in version 10.2.2. As a result, you must migrate and restore all BIcontent manually.

This section describes how to migrate content from a standard Cognos Express10.2.1 environment. If you modified the default settings in Cognos Express 10.2.1,some procedures described in this section might not work.

Overview of Cognos Business Intelligence content migrationIn your IBM Cognos Express 10.2.1 environment, use IBM Cognos Administrationto export BI content that you developed and want to continue using. This creates adeployment archive that you can import to your Cognos BI 10.2.2 environment.

The following figure shows the Cognos BI content that can be migrated using adeployment archive.

Notes:v If you are planning to use existing Cognos user groups, you can include Cognos

Prerequisites for migration of Cognos Business Intelligencecontent

Before you migrate your IBM Cognos Express 10.2.1 content, all prerequisites mustbe met.

Ensure that all of these statements are true:v You are logged into the target Express 10.2.2 server as the BI/TM1 administrator.v Your source Express 10.2.1 server is running and all licensed products and

clients are installed and configured.

Note: For more information, see Managing IBM Cognos Express.v You have backed up your BI content in Express Manager 10.2.1 using the

Backup and Restore feature.v You have installed and configured a working BI environment on Express 10.2.2

on a single Windows server.v You have installed the latest BI fix pack on your Express 10.2.2 server.v You have enabled Cognos Access Manager (CAM) authentication on your target

server.v You have installed and configured all source provider client APIs that are

required to support imported BI data sources.v You have installed client software on all target clients and configured it as an

integrated component.v You have copied all Custom Java Authentication user assignments to your

Active Directory (AD) system and assigned users to the appropriate Cognosgroups.

v You have imported all Active Directory groups, configured them as TM1 groups,and assigned security accordingly.

v You have ensured that Active Directory users with appropriate privileges canlaunch TM1 applications.

v You have ensured that TM1 server security is based on Active Directory.

Note: No users from the Express source server’s Custom Authenticationprovider are restored in the target server.

Choosing Cognos Business Intelligence content to bemigrated

Select only the IBM Cognos Business Intelligence content that you want to move tothe new environment. You do not need to export the entire content store.

Consider the following items before you migrate your content.v A deployment does not capture any Framework Manager model files that were

saved to individual client computers. You should inform Framework Managermodelers that they should save their models and packages and back up theirfiles and dependencies before they migrate to a new version of FrameworkManager. After the new version of the client software is installed, they can copythe model files to the target location.For information on Framework Manager objects that you can migrate, seeObjects you will use (http://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSEP7J_10.2.2/com.ibm.swg.ba.cognos.dg_fm_sdk.10.2.2.doc/c_objectsyouwilluse.html%23objectsyouwilluse).

v If you have content from IBM Cognos Express Advisor and Data Advisor (bothunsupported in 10.2.2), and are upgrading to IBM Cognos TM1 10.2.2, you mayencounter warnings and errors when you import your content to the targetenvironment. However, all other content is successfully imported. To avoid theseerrors, do not select IBM Cognos Express Advisor content when you specify thedeployment specification.

v Cognos Insight shared files are not included in the BI deployment. You canmanually transfer saved .cdd files from the source to the target server, open thefile, and then share them again. For more information, see “Migrating CognosInsight content that was shared with Cognos Connection” on page 101.

v If you installed any data source API or middleware on your Express 10.2.1computer to connect to a remote data server, you must reinstall it on the targetserver. This includes the Informix server and client that was installed with theExpress samples.

Exporting Cognos Business Intelligence content from thesource Cognos Express server

Export IBM Cognos Business Intelligence content from the source IBM CognosExpress server to create a deployment archive that you can import to your CognosBI 10.2.2 server.

Before you begin

If you want to preserve data source access accounts when you export a contentstore, then you must select Include user account information. If you want toinclude configuration objects and their children as part of deployments, set theadvanced property CM.DEPLOYMENTINCLUDECONFIGURATION value to TRUE.

Note: In IBM Cognos Business Intelligence, the default value for theCM.DEPLOYMENTINCLUDECONFIGURATION property is FALSE.For more information, see Including configuration objects and their children indeployments (http://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSEP7J_10.2.2/com.ibm.swg.ba.cognos.ug_cra.10.2.2.doc/t_configobjectsdeployment.html%23ConfigObjectsDeployment?lang=en).

Procedure1. On the source computer, open Express Manager and select Launch > IBM

Cognos Administration.2. On the Configuration tab, click Content Administration.

3. On the toolbar, click the New Export icon .4. Type a unique name and an optional description and screen tip for the

deployment specification. Select the folder where you want to save it and clickNext.

5. Choose whether to export the entire content store or to do a partial export ofspecific content:v To export specific content, click Select public folders, directory and library

content. Click Next and proceed to step 6.v To export the entire content store, click Select the entire content store and

select whether to include user account information. Click Next and proceedto step 14.

6. In the Select the Public folders content page, click Add.

7. In the Select entries page, in the Available Entries box, select one of thefollowing entries or their contents:v Public Folders

Contains packages and folders. Select the packages and folders that youwant to export.

v Directory

Contains namespaces, namespace folders, groups and roles, and individualuser accounts. When you select a user account, all content associated withthe user, including the content of the user's My Folders, is included in theexport.

Important: To export content saved by users in Cognos Connection > MyFolders, you must select and export users/groups from your ActiveDirectory provider and Cognos Express folders. If you do not selectDirectory and add a list of users or a group of users, then the content fromthe My Folders tab in Cognos Connection will not be exported.

v Library

Contains library resources.

8. Click the arrow icon to move the selected items to the Selected entriesbox, and click OK.

9. For each entry that you are exporting, complete one of the following steps:v If you want the entry to have a different name in the target environment, or

if you want to change the target location or add multilingual names, click

the Edit icon , make your changes, and click OK.v If you do not want users to access the entries and their contents, select the

check box in the Disable after import column. This is useful, for example,when you want to test the reports before you make them available in thetarget environment.

10. Under Options, select whether you want to include the report outputversions, run history, and schedules and decide what to do with entries incase of a conflict.

11. On the Select the directory content page, include Cognos groups and roles,distribution lists and contacts, data sources and connections, and the defaultConflict resolution values.

12. In the Specify the general options page, select whether to include accesspermissions and references to namespaces other than IBM Cognos, and selectthe user performing the import as owner of the entries after they areimported in the target environment.

13. Select Basic under Recording Level for the deployment history.14. In the Specify a deployment archive page, under Deployment archive, type a

name for the deployment archive.

Tip: Do not use spaces in the name. If the name of the new deploymentspecification matches the name of an existing deployment archive, thecharacters _# are added to the end of the name, where # is a number such as1.

15. Under Encryption, click Set the encryption password, type a password, andclick OK.

16. Click Next. The summary information appears.

17. Review the summary information and click Next. If you want to change theinformation, click Back and follow the instructions.

18. Click Save and run once and click Finish. Click Now, and then click Run.Review the run time and click OK.

Note: If you selected objects that are not supported by Cognos BI, you canignore the following messages that might appear in the run history:CM-REQ-4379 Personal data for the following namespaces were not exported.These namespaces are either not configured, or you are not logged into them.CognosExpressActiveDirectoryID

CM-REQ-4248 Unable to access the account "CAMID("CognosExpress:UserName")"in an external security system.

20. Exit IBM Cognos Administration.

Importing Cognos Business Intelligence content to the targetCognos Express 10.2.2 server

Import your Cognos Express deployment archive to your BI 10.2.2 server topreserve the content from your Express environment.

Procedure1. On the source computer, in the default source location

Express_installation_location\deployment, locate the deployment .zip filethat you created when you exported your BI content.

2. Copy the deployment .zip file to the target computer, in the locationBI_installation_location\deployment.

3. On your target server, log in as an administrator and click Launch > IBMCognos Administration.

4. On the toolbar, click the New Import icon .5. In the Deployment archive box, select the deployment archive that you

exported from your Express 10.2.1 environment.6. Continue with the wizard, choosing the default values.7. On the Run with options – Full page, in the Report specification upgrade

section, select Upgrade all report specifications to the latest version, andthen click Run.

8. Select View the details of this import after closing this dialog and OK.9. When the import is completed, ensure that it was successful.

Some imported objects are not supported by Cognos BI. You can ignore thefollowing messages that may appear in the run history.CM-REQ-4328 A problem was encountered while importing the object.....CM-REQ-4329

The following references cannot be resolved and were cleared:"credentialNamespaces: CAMID("CognosExpress")".

CM-SYS-2221 Content Manager received an information message whileupgrading data. CM-UPG-2036 ..... The object "/content/package[@name....."]"was not imported because the data upgrade plugin "CM_internal_4.026" requestedContent Manager to skip it.

10. Exit Cognos Administration.

Resetting the imported data source connection parameters forCognos Business Intelligence content

After you migrate IBM Cognos Business Intelligence content, you might need tomodify some data source connections.

Procedure1. Reset each imported data source connection that was created on the target

server with an external namespace signon. This is required because the importremoves the external designation from the namespace signon. Modify theconnection to reapply the external namespace signon.

2. If you have TM1 data sources, move the data files to the TM1 server. For moreinformation, see “Editing the Cognos Business Intelligence connection stringsfor Cognos TM1 servers” on page 98.

Tip: For all other external relational data sources, if the source of the signonwas not a namespace authentication, you can continue to save reportssuccessfully using the data source and related packages.

3. You cannot migrate the Informix samples from the source Express server to thetarget Cognos BI server. You can instead use the upgraded samples that areavailable with BI 10.2.2 and TM1 10.2.2.

4. For each external data source that you update to connect to a remote relationalor OLAP (MSAS) server, ensure that the test connection succeeds in bothCompatible and Dynamic modes, if applicable.

Verifying Cognos Business Intelligence content in CognosExpress 10.2.2

Check that you migrated all of your IBM Cognos Business Intelligence contentsuccessfully.

Procedure1. On both the Express computer and the Cognos BI computer, start Cognos

Connection and ensure that the number of files and folders match.2. On both the Express computer and the Cognos BI computer, start Cognos

Administration, select Configuration > Data Source Connections, and ensurethat the data sources match.

3. On the target computer, start Cognos Administration and complete these tasks:a. Ensure that, for each data source connection that you modified on the target

server, you select Test connection and ensure that the connection to theexternal source is successful.

b. Select Security > Users, Groups, and Roles, and ensure that the users,groups and roles were imported correctly.

4. On the target computer, start Cognos Connection and complete these tasks:a. Ensure that the reports that are associated with the modified data sources

can be run with no errors.b. Ensure that the IBM Cognos Express Planner Application - My

Applications folder is imported and contains all of your applications.

Tip: For the planning application folder to get imported, you must haveedited the BI connection strings to the TM1 servers before you exportedyour Express BI content.

Tip: Shared Cognos Insight entries in Cognos Connection are not imported inthe BI deployment archive. You must manually migrate the Cognos Insightshared content.

Express Advisor and Data Advisor were deprecated in Express 10.2.1. As a result,Advisor and Data Advisor content is not supported in TM1 10.2.2. All otherCognos Express 10.2.1 TM1 content is supported in TM1 10.2.2.

Differences between Cognos Express 10.2.1 and Cognos TM1 10.2.2IBM Cognos Express 10.2.1 and IBM Cognos TM1 10.2.2 contain some differentcomponent names and use different installation methods.

Installation differences between Cognos Express 10.2.1 and TM110.2.2

When you installed Cognos Express 10.2.1, components were installed in twophases:1. You ran the Cognos Express installation program. This phase installed the

Cognos Express core components, including Express Manager.2. You started Express Manager and used it to install the two Cognos Express

TM1 components: Planner and Xcelerator.v The Express Planner component enabled the Planner Application portal. It

also enabled users to download Cognos Insight and Performance Modeler.v The Express Xcelerator component enabled TM1 Web. It also enabled users to

download the Xcelerator client, which is called Perspectives in TM1 10.2.2.

To install TM1 10.2.2, you ran one TM1 installation program that installed all of theTM1 server and client components.

Note: If you are installing both IBM Cognos BI 10.2.2 and TM1 10.2.2 on onecomputer, there is additional configuration to perform. For more information, seeChapter 5, “Configuring Cognos Business Intelligence and Cognos TM1 to worktogether,” on page 31.

Configuration of Cognos TM1 ServerConfigure IBM Cognos TM1 Server in TM1 10.2.2 using IBM CognosConfiguration.

Express ICAS/TM1 9.0.x and 9.1.x databases are automatically converted toUnicode when they are opened with TM1 server version 9.4 or higher. When anolder TM1 database is converted to Unicode, it can no longer be opened in theearlier versions of TM1.

In IBM Cognos Express version 10.2.2, you can use Cognos Configuration to start,stop, and manage your Cognos TM1 servers.

Configuration of Cognos TM1 WebIn IBM Cognos TM1 10.2.2, configure IBM Cognos TM1 Web by editing thetm1web_config.xml file.

Cognos TM1 Web runs on a Java web application server, such as Apache Tomcat,which is installed with TM1. IBM Cognos Express TM1 Web 10.2.2 does not requireMicrosoft .NET Framework to be installed.v The default installation directory for Cognos TM1 Web is

TM1_installation_location\tm1web.v TM1 Web 10.2.2 uses the configuration file tm1web_config.xml. This file replaces

the web.config file from previous TM1 Web versions. The tm1web_config.xml fileincludes a subset of the previous parameters because the parameters related toMicrosoft .NET Framework are no longer required and were removed.The tm1web_config.xml file is installed in the following location:TM1_installation_location\webapps\tm1web\web-inf\configuration

Tip: If you want to use any settings from your previous TM1 Web configurationfile, you can selectively merge parameters settings from your previous web.configfile into the new tm1web_config.xml file.

Configuration of Cognos TM1 ApplicationsYou can use the Apache Tomcat application server that is installed with IBMCognos TM1 10.2.2 to run your applications. You can manage this applicationserver using IBM Cognos Configuration.

Important: To use your IBM Cognos Express 10.2.1 applications in TM1 10.2.2, youmight need to first edit them in the following cases:v If an application uses a dynamic subset as the approval hierarchy, you must edit

the application in Performance Modeler and change the approval hierarchy.v If two applications share the same approval cube, you must edit one of the

applications in Performance Modeler and assign a different approval cube.

Note: If you plan to use IBM Cognos TM1 Applications without Microsoft Excelinstalled on the web server that runs IBM Cognos TM1 Web, complete thefollowing steps:1. Open the tm1s.cfg configuration file.2. Set the ExcelWebPublishEnabled parameter to True (T).

The Cognos TM1 content migration processThis section describes the tasks that you perform to migrate IBM Cognos TM1content from IBM Cognos Express 10.2.1 to TM1 10.2.2.

Prerequisites for migration of Cognos TM1 contentBefore you migrate your IBM Cognos Express 10.2.1 TM1 content, all prerequisitesmust be met.

Ensure that all of these statements are true:v In your source Cognos Express 10.2.1 environment, you enabled Active Directory

and assigned all users to groups.v If there are shared IBM Cognos Insight entries in IBM Cognos Connection, you

saved the projects as .cdd files on the source Cognos Express computer.

Note: You will transfer the .cdd files later to the target server and share them inCognos Connection.

v You keep Cognos Express 10.2.1 running on the source computer until after yourBI and TM1 content migration is completed and fully tested.

v The BI 10.2.2 and TM1 10.2.2 installations on the target server are fullyintegrated.

v You verified user assignments and checked that user groups were active afterthe BI content was imported.

v You have installed and configured a working TM1 10.2.2 environment on asingle Windows server.

v Your integrated BI/TM1 environment is fully functional and all TM1 and BIcomponents are using CAM authentication.

v All Active Directory users are listed in the TM1 list of users.v You scheduled a migration time and notified all TM1 users about it.

Backing up your existing Cognos TM1 dataBefore you upgrade, ensure that you back up your existing Cognos TM1 data,application, and configuration files to a safe place.

Before you begin

Depending on your network architecture and deployment of IBM Cognos TM1,your TM1 data might reside on more than one computer. Make a list of where thisdata is located and create a plan to back up the data.

Procedure1. Back up the following files:

v Cognos TM1 Admin Server configuration filesv Cognos TM1 Server configuration and database filesv Cognos TM1 Web server configuration and custom filesv Cognos TM1 Architect client configuration filev Cognos TM1 Perspectives client configuration filev Cognos TM1 Contributor application and configuration files

2. For each TM1 server that you are running, back up your TM1 data directory,logs, and configuration files.

3. If you are using Cognos TM1 Applications, export your applications and backup any other related files.

Restoring user settings from the Express Xcelerator clientTo transfer your user settings from the Express Xcelerator client to TM1 Architectand TM1 Perspectives in IBM Cognos TM1 10.2.2, back up the tm1p.ini file fromtwo locations in your IBM Cognos Express environment.

System default Tm1p.ini file

The system default version of Tm1p.ini allows multiple users to use Cognos TM1on a given computer. The Tm1p.ini file must be present the first time a user startsCognos TM1 on the computer, as the parameters in the system default versiongovern the behavior of the initial startup of the Cognos TM1 client for each user.

User-specific Tm1p.ini file

After a user starts Cognos TM1 on the computer, a user-specific copy of theTm1p.ini file is created in their %USERPROFILE% location.

The user-specific copy of Tm1p.ini accepts all parameters settings and changes forthe user and governs the behavior of the Cognos TM1 client for all subsequentuser sessions of the Cognos TM1 client.

The Cognos TM1 Options dialog box also stores many of these settings. You canchange these settings using either the TM1 Options dialog box or by editing theTm1p.ini file. The Tm1p.ini parameters and TM1 Options are described here.

The exact location for %USERPROFILE% depends on which version of MicrosoftWindows you are using.

Tip: Run echo %USERPROFILE% from a command line to see the exact location.v For Microsoft Windows XP or Windows Server 2003, the location of the

correct location.

Restoring saved Microsoft Excel files as application files on aCognos TM1 server

You must manually copy and restore any Microsoft Excel files that you want to usein IBM Cognos TM1.

Procedure1. Copy the Microsoft Excel file from the source Cognos Express computer to the

target TM1 10.2.2 computer.2. In TM1 10.2.2, upload the Microsoft Excel file as an application on the TM1

server.

Migrating and configuring Cognos TM1 server content andCognos Insight content

You can migrate IBM Cognos TM1 content or IBM Cognos Insight content fromyour IBM Cognos Express 10.2.1 environment to your TM1 10.2.2 environment.

The Cognos Express 10.2.1 installation included one TM1 server, named CXMD. Italso supported TM1 servers created by Cognos Insight. The content of the CXMDdata files was populated when you deployed Cognos Express samples or createdcubes and other content.

Migrating Cognos TM1 server content and Cognos InsightcontentYou can migrate IBM Cognos TM1 server content and IBM Cognos Insight contentfrom IBM Cognos Express 10.2.1 to TM1 10.2.2.

Important: The following steps describe how to migrate TM1 content from theExpress CXMD server. To migrate Express Cognos Insight content, you must repeatthese steps for the Cognos Insight server.

Procedure1. Set a time and send advance notice to all Cognos Express users telling them

when the Cognos Express server will be shut down.

Tip: Advise the users that they should save any files that they want to bemigrated to TM1.

2. Ensure that your target server has adequate disk space for the migratedcontent.a. On the source computer, check the file size of the server log and

compressed database folder.b. Check the available disk space on the target server.c. If there is not enough size on the target server, designate a different

location where you will restore your Cognos Express content.

Tip: If you change the location, you must open the tm1s.cfg file andupdate the DataBaseDirectory and LoggingDirectory parameters with the newlocation.You must compare the source and target file sizes once the restore iscomplete to ensure that the files were migrated with no errors.

3. On both the source and target computers, ensure that you have thesepermissions:v TM1 access rights to stop and start the TM1 serverv Windows access rights to save and move files

4. Log in to TM1 using the BI/TM1 administrator account.5. Open the Clients Messaging Center window and ensure that all users are

logged off and disconnected from the TM1 server.6. Verify the active chores and schedules and make a note of them prior to

disabling them. This will help you to run the identical ones in the targetserver after the restore.

7. Run a TM1 SaveDataAll process if you use it regularly to back up data.8. Exit and log out of TM1.9. Ensure that the source Cognos Express server is completely shut down by

stopping the following services in Windows Services:v IBM Cognos Analytic Server – CXMDv IBM Cognos Analytic Server Adminv IBM Cognos Expressv IBM Cognos Express Advisorv IBM Cognos TM1 Server x64 /.... (Additional Servers).

10. Ensure that you have access to compression software, such as 7-Zip, on boththe source and target computer.

11. Compress the TM1 log file. The default Cognos Express log file location isExpress_installation_location\logs\express.

12. Compress the TM1 data file. The default Express CXMD and desktopdata (theCognos Insight server) location is Express_installation_location\Xcelerator\Custom\TM1Data

13. Move the compressed files to your target server and decompress them.14. Copy the following Cognos Express folders from your Cognos Express

computer to your TM1 10.2.2 computer:a. Copy the CXMD folder to TM1_installation_location\samples\tm1

15. Copy from the source server to the target server all files and folders that arereferenced by the TM1 server.

Tip: This includes all source files referenced in TurboIntegrator (TI) and TIprocesses residing on the source server. You must update the location of allreferenced files, whether they reside in the data folder and in or anotherlocation. The default source file location for the CXMD server on the CognosExpress computer is Express_installation_location\Xcelerator\Custom\TM1Data\CXMD\sourcefiles.

16. Go to TM1_installation_location\samples\tm1\CXMD, open the tm1s.cfg file inNotepad, and make the following changes:v Update the ServerCAMURI and ClientCAMURI values to match your BI

10.2.2 configuration fully qualified URI values.

Tip: You can copy these values from the tm1s.cfg file that you modifiedwhen you configured the TM1 server. The following value is the defaultvalue for both parameters:http://TM1Server.Company.Domain.com:9300/p2pd/servlet/dispatch

v Update the IntegratedSecurityMode value from 5 to 1.v Update DataBaseDirectory to point to your TM1 data folder.v Update LoggingDirectory to TM1_installation_location\samples\tm1\CXMD\

logfiles (ensure that the folder exists) or to a new directory.v Add the following new parameter and value:

v Ensure that the logfiles folder exists in the location that you specifiedearlier.

v Update the ServerName parameter as follows: ServerName=CXMD17. Save tm1s.cfg and exit Notepad.18. Launch TM1 Cognos Configuration.19. In the Explorer pane, select Data Access > TM1 Server.20. Right-click New resource and then click TM1 server instance.21. In the New Resource window, type CXMD as the name.22. In the Resource properties section, click TM1 Server Configuration Path,

navigate to your CXMD data folder, TM1_install_location\samples\tm1\CXMD,and then click Select.

Note: For all non-CXMD servers, you must point to the saved location andname it as it was named in your Cognos Express environment.

23. Right-click Data Access > TM1 Server > CXMD and then click Test andensure that the test succeeds.

Note: You can ignore the following warning message if you see it:[Cryptography][ ERROR ] CAM-CRP-1315 Current configuration points to adifferent Trust Domain than originally configured.[Cryptography][ ERROR ] The cryptography information was not generated.

v Close and exit Cognos Configuration and click No when you are promptedto save.

v Start Cognos Configuration, save the configuration, and then restart theservices.

v Right-click CXMD, click Test, and ensure that there is no warning.24. Save the configuration.25. Right-click CXMD, click Start, and ensure that the CXMD server starts

successfully.

Adding the Cognos BI/TM1 administrator user name as a CognosTM1 administratorYou must assign the Active Directory user name of the BI/TM1 administrator as anIBM Cognos TM1 administrator.

Procedure1. Ensure that the following services are running:

v BI Services:– IBM Cognos Servlet Gateway– IBM Cognos

v TM1 Services:– IBM Cognos TM1 Admin Server x64– IBM Cognos TM1 Application Server– IBM Cognos TM1 Server – CXMD– IBM Cognos TM1 Server – Sdata

2. Start Architect and log into CXMD with the default authentication:v Username: adminv Password: apple

3. Right-click CXMD and click Security > Clients/Groups.4. From the menu, click Client > Add new client.5. Log in using the BI/TM1 administrator account.6. Select the Show users in the box check box and then click the Active

Directory name.7. Click Search and search for the domain name of the BI/TM1 administrator

account.The name is displayed in the results section.

8. Select the check box for the name, add it to the selected entries, and then clickOK.

9. In the Clients/Groups on CXMD window, ensure that the BI/TM1administrator username is added to the list as your Active DirectoryName/username.

10. Select the check box for the added user and for ADMIN.11. Click OK and exit Architect.

What to do next

You must repeat the previous steps for each non-CXMD TM1 server.

Procedure1. Go to the CXMD data directory and open the tm1s.cfg file in Notepad.2. Change the value of the IntegratedSecurityMode parameter from 1 to 5.3. Save the file and restart the IBM Cognos TM1 Server – CXMD service.4. Start Architect and double-click CXMD.5. Ensure that the CAM authentication window opens.6. Log in using the BI/TM1 administrator account.7. Ensure that you are logged in and have access to all cubes.8. Start the processes and chores that you disabled prior to backup on the source

server.

What to do next

You must repeat all the previous steps for each of the non-CXMD TM1 servers.

Editing the Cognos Business Intelligence connection strings forCognos TM1 serversYou can reconnect all of your existing reports and queries that you migrated fromIBM Cognos Express 10.2.1 by editing the connection strings.

Before you begin

Make sure that you imported your IBM Cognos Business Intelligence deploymentarchive from your Cognos Express 10.2.1 environment to your IBM Cognos TM110.2.2 environment. Also make sure that you migrated your IBM Cognos ExpressCXMD server content to TM1 10.2.2.

Procedure1. Start IBM Cognos Administration and log in using the BI/TM1 administrator

account.2. Click Configuration > Data Source Connections.3. Click Directory > Cognos.

A list appears of all the TM1 data sources that were locally connected to theCXMD server on your Cognos Express computer.

4. For each data source, complete these steps:a. Click on the data source name.b. In the Actions column, click More.c. In the Available actions section, click Set properties.d. Click Connection > Connection string, and then click Edit.e. In the Edit the connection string - IBM Cognos TM1 section, update the

Administration Host value with the fully qualified name.f. In the Signon section, select An external namespace if the source was

assigned to an Active Directory namespace.g. In the Testing section, click Test the connection.h. On the next page, click Test. If the connection fails, the following error

messages might appear:

v Compatible query mode: TM1-ERR-0052 An attempt to loginto the TM1 server CXMD failed. The TM1 error code is 76. The TM1error message is "SystemServerIncompatibleVersion".

5. If the previous error messages appear, ensure that the target server name iscorrect, the server is running, and the BI/TM1 administrator is logged in toCognos Connection.

6. During signon, the following message may appear:Changing the signon type from “The signons of this connection"will result in the removal of all signons associated with this connection.Click OK to continue.

If this message appears, ignore it, and click OK.7. Start Cognos Connection and open the reports and queries to ensure that they

run successfully.

Migrating Cognos TM1 application filesManually back up your application files to preserve state information about theapplications, such as current node ownership and submitted status.

Before you begin

Make sure that you backed up and migrated your IBM Cognos TM1 Serverdatabases that are used by your applications.

About this task

If you only want to save a definition of your application structure without anystate data or user activity, you can move an application template. Procedure1. On your source server, go to Express_installation_location\webapps\

pmpsvc\WEB-INF\applications.2. Save a backup copy of the IBM Cognos TM1 Applications Applications folder.3. On your source server, go to the following location:

Express_installation_location\webapps\pmpsvc\WEB-INF\configuration

4. Save a backup copy of the pmpsvc_config.xml and fpmsvc_config.xmlconfiguration files.

5. On the target server, paste your saved Applications folder toTM1_installation_location\webapps\pmpsvc\WEB-INF\applications.

6. On the target server, go to TM1_installation_location\webapps\pmpsvc\WEB-INF\configuration, open the fpmsvc_config.xml file in Notepad, and add thenew server parameters to the <servers> element.

Tip: The server SData should appear if you configured the SData database, asdescribed in the section “Starting the Cognos TM1 servers” on page 10. Youmay also have multiple entries for non-CXMD servers.<servers name="SData"/><server name="CXMD"/><server name="Your_Cognos_Insight_generated_server_Names"/></servers>

7. Start Cognos Configuration and complete these steps:a. Start the TM1 Application server.b. Start the TM1 servers that are related to your application.

8. Log in to Cognos TM1 Applications on your target server and add eachrelated TM1 server to the configuration page if it is not already listed.a. Click the Administer IBM Cognos TM1 Applications icon on the toolbar

of Cognos TM1 Applications.b. Under Server Names, click Add, and enter the information for the related

TM1 server.c. Click OK.

9. Under Actions, click Manage Rights.10. For each application, check that the new user groups that you migrated from

Active Directory are listed. If not, you must update the group security againstthe application.

Results

All applications in the webapps/pmpsvc/WEB-INF/application folder are upgradedwhen you launch them in the TM1 10.2.2 environment.

Updating Cognos TM1 application links in Cognos ConnectionUpdate the imported IBM Cognos TM1 application links in IBM CognosConnection to point to the new server.

About this task

When you restored the IBM Cognos Business Intelligence deployment archive inyour target TM1 10.2.2 environment, the IBM Cognos Express Planner Application- My Applications folder was imported. This folder contained all your publishedand deployed TM1 applications from your IBM Cognos Express environment. Theapplications in this folder should match the applications listed in TM1 Applicationswhen all related TM1 servers are running.

Initially, the Cognos Connection links to these imported applications are all brokenbecause they still point to the source Cognos Express computer and port number.You can ignore the following messages if they appear:The planning service parameter was not specified or is not one of theconfigured locations

Error 404: java.io.FileNotFoundException: SRVE0190E: File not found:/servlet/dispatch

Note: There are two application folders in Cognos Connection. One folder is therestored version from the Cognos Express source server. The second folder isinstalled by default by when you install Cognos Connection Installer for CognosInsight (CCICI). For more information, see “Installing Cognos Insight with CognosBusiness Intelligence” on page 24. The two application folders are shown in thefollowing figure.

Express Planner Application - My Applications.

Option 2 - Manually update the URL property of each application

1. Open IBM Cognos Express Planner Application - My Applications in CognosConnection.A list of applications opens.

2. For each application, complete the following steps:a. Select the application and click More in the Actions column.b. Click Available actions > Set Properties.c. In the URL section, make the following changes:

v Change ./dispatch to ./Gateway.

qualified target server name.v Change the port number that is followed by the server name to the target

Migrating Cognos Insight content that was shared withCognos Connection

You must manually restore IBM Cognos Insight content that was shared to IBMCognos Connection.

When you restored your BI deployment archive from your IBM Cognos Expresssource server to your IBM Cognos TM1 target server, any Cognos Insight contentthat was shared to Cognos Connection was not included in the deployment.Therefore, you must restore this content manually.

Procedure1. On the source Cognos Express computer, ensure that you saved the Cognos

Insight project and have access to the .cdd file.

2. Copy all of the .cdd files from the source computer to the target computer in asecure location.

3. If the .cdd files were not connected to a TM1 server in your Cognos Expressenvironment, skip to step 10.

4. Ensure that the associated TM1 server is running on the target server.5. Open the .cdd file with a file extraction application, for example 7zip, and

extract the file cdfDashboardModel.xml.6. Open the file cdfDashboardModel.xml in Notepad and complete the following

steps:a. Search for “planningAddress=”, change the source server name to the

target computer's fully qualified name, and then change the port numberto the new port number. The default port number is 9510. For example,changeplanningAddress=http://Source_Server_Name:19300/pmpsvc/services

toplanningAddress=http://Target_Server_Name.Company.Domain.Com:9510/pmpsvc/services

b. Search for the name of the source TM1 server, change the source servername to the fully qualified target server name, and leave the name of theshared file as is. For example, changetm1Server="Source_TM1_Server_Name:Shared_File_Name"

c. Save the file and exit Notepad.7. Open the .cdd file in your file extraction application and delete the original

compressed file.9. Exit the file extraction application.

10. Start Cognos Insight, click File > Open, and select the updated .cdd file.11. Accept the upgrade prompt and then click Upgrade.12. Log in using the BI/TM1 administrator account.13. Save the project.14. Share the project to Cognos Connection.

file and paste them in a browser.c. Ensure that both URIs start IBM Cognos Connection. If either URI does not

work, follow these steps:1) Ensure that both URIs include the fully qualified server name.2) Start Cognos Configuration and click Environment.3) Ensure that the Gateway URI value matches the ClientCAMURI value in

the tm1s.cfg file.4) Ensure that the External dispatcher URI value matches the

ServerCAMURI value in the tm1s.cfg file.

Tip: In this guide, we recommend that both the ServerCAMURI andClientCAMURI parameters point to the BI configuration value of the Externaldispatcher URI. The reason for this is that this was the defaultpre-configured format in prior Express releases. You can update theClientCAMURI to match the Gateway URI value in BI configuration file, asthis is the default format for the integration of BI and TM1.

Resolving the problem1. Navigate to the CXMD data folder and open the tm1s.cfg file in Notepad.2. Search for ServerName.3. Change ServerName = CXMD to ServerName=CXMD.4. Save the tm1s.cfg file.5. The CAM admin user cannot access non-CXMD serversAfter migration, you can access the restored IBM Cognos Express CXMD serverusing the Cognos Access Manager (CAM) admin account, but you might not beable to access any other TM1 servers.

[Cryptography] [Error] The cryptography information was not generated.

These errors occur for one of these reasons:v The CAM authentication was implemented after the services were registered.v A mismatched environment was created, resulting in keys that are no longer

valid.

Regenerating the encryption keys for TM1

1. Start TM1 Cognos Configuration.2. Select File > Export As.3. At the prompt, save the file.

For example, save the file as backup.xml in TM1_installation_location/Configuration.

When you change the datasources signon and connection after the IBM CognosBusiness Intelligence deployment is restored, you might encounter a warning aboutthe loss of signon associated with this connection. The following message mightappear:Changing the Signon type from ’The signons of this connection’ will resultin the removal of all signons associated with this connection. Click OK to continue.

This problem occurs because the 10.2.2 version of the software has a new signonmethod, and the previous signon credentials that were based on Cognos Expresscustom Java authentication are no longer required.

Resolving the problem1. Navigate to the TM1 server install root and open the tm1web_config.xml file in

Notepad or an editor of your choice in the following location:TM1_Install_Location\webapps\tm1web\WEB-INF\configuration\tm1web_config.xml

2. Search for the add key="TM1ServerName parameter and remove CXMD. Forexample, change<add key="TM1ServerName" value="CXMD"/>

to<add key="TM1ServerName" value=" "/>

3. Restart IBM Cognos TM1 Application Server in Windows Services.4. Delete the browser cache and reopen to launch TM1 Web. You are now

prompted with the initial TM1 Web login dialog box, displaying all qualifiedTM1 servers.

5. Select a server and log in with CAM authentication.

Tip: Alternatively, if you want to bypass the initial TM1 Web security prompt anddirect all users to CAM authentication, you can identify a single TM1 server in theTM1ServerName value parameter in the tm1web_config.xml file.

Cognos TM1 timeout management and CAM authenticationThe IBM Cognos TM1 server might display an error message indicating a timeoutin any of the supported client or web interfaces. You must update and modify thedefault session values in IBM Cognos Business Intelligence and Cognos TM1 tosynchronize the expected time, depending on your environment. In the followingfigure, you can see a combination of the parameters that require update in BI andTM1.

This problem might occur when you use integrated TM1 CAM security.

Resolving the problem1. Click BI Configuration > Servlet Gateway > IBM Cognos Servlet Gateway.2. Notice the Ping timeout in seconds value.3. Open the tm1s.cfg file related to each of the TM1 servers.4. Ensure that you have the ClientPingCAMPassport parameter.5. Notice the ClientPingCAMPassport value.6. Edit the Ping timeout in seconds value in BI Configuration and reflect the

change in the ClientPingCAMPassport parameter in the tm1s.cfg file.7. Configure the ClientPingCAMPassport value to be half of the modified value of

Ping timeout in seconds in your BI Servlet Gateway configuration.8. To ensure that Cognos TM1 Applications can properly detect a CAM session

termination, set the pmpsvc session timeout value to a value higher than theCAM session timeout value.v The pmpsvc session timeout is the number of minutes of inactivity after

which Cognos TM1 Applications terminates a user session. The defaultvalue is 60 minutes.

v The CAM session timeout is the number of seconds of inactivity after whichCognos security terminates a user session. The default value is 240 seconds.

9. Navigate to the fpmsvc_config.xml file in the following location:TM1_install_location\webapps\pmpsvc\WEB-INF\configuration.

10. Update the default value to a desired time, for example, <sessiontimeout="60"/>.

11. On your BI system, configure the CAM session timeout using CognosConfiguration.

12. Enter a lower value than the one set in the fpmsvc_config.xml file in theInactivity timeout in seconds field in the Security/Authentication section ofCognos Configuration, as shown in the following illustration.

13. Verify that the Ping timeout in seconds and Inactivity timeout in seconds settingsin BI Configuration are set the same, and that they are lower than the sessiontimeout setting in the fpmsvc_config.xml file and twice as much as theClientPingCAMPassport value in the tm1s.cfg file

14. Restart your TM1 Server and application server for the changes to take effect.

Cognos TM1 web.config configuration file is missing in the new serverYou cannot find the IBM Cognos TM1 web.config configuration file on the newserver.

About this task

If a fix pack is available when you are installing or upgrading your product, youmust install it after you install the Cognos components. Cognos fix packs areinstalled in the same location as the existing product. Fix packs are cumulative.When you install a fix pack, it includes updates from all the previous fix packs.

Fix packs are not stand-alone installations. You must install them on computersthat have Cognos components installed. Install the fix packs that are appropriatefor your product version.

If you used the Quick Setup option for the original BI installation (version 10.2.2),that means that DB2 Advanced Workgroup Server Edition was installed andconfigured as the content store database. The Quick Setup option will not beavailable to install the fix pack. Use the IBM Cognos Business Intelligence Serverinstall option. Query Studio and Analysis Studio not supported in Express 10.2.2Although IBM Cognos Query Studio and IBM Cognos Analysis Studio areincluded in IBM Cognos Express 10.2.2.0, they are deprecated in IBM CognosBusiness Intelligence. As a result, Cognos Express 10.2.2 does not support QueryStudio and Analysis Studio.

DB2 First Steps message after restarting your computerAfter you install IBM Cognos Business Intelligence and restart your computer, amessage appears about the "First Steps" in using IBM DB2.

This message appears because you installed Cognos BI using the Quick Setupoption. The Quick Setup option installs and configures IBM DB2 AdvancedWorkgroup Server Edition as the content store database. DB2 prompts you aboutwhether you want to create sample DB2 databases.

Resolving the problem

You do not need to create any sample DB2 databases when you install andconfigure IBM Cognos BI. Therefore, you can ignore the DB2 message and closethe window.

Two IBM Cognos Configuration shortcuts in the Start menuTwo shortcuts with the name IBM Cognos Configuration appear in the MicrosoftWindows Start menu.

The reason that the IBM Cognos Configuration label appears twice in the Startmenu is that you installed both IBM Cognos TM1 and IBM Cognos BusinessIntelligence on your computer. Each product has its own instance of IBM CognosConfiguration installed in its respective installation location.

Resolving the problem

You can avoid this confusion by renaming the shortcut labels in the Start menu:1. Select Start > All Programs > product_name, then right-click IBM Cognos

Configuration and select Rename.2. Enter a name that identifies the Cognos product to be configured when you

select the shortcut.
