The candidates will attend a retreat day, 9am – 3pm, in the Cathedral Precinct on Friday 13 th May followed by a rehearsal in the Cathedral 3.30pm – 4.30pm. The sacrament will take place during the 10am Mass on Pentecost Sunday, 15 th May. All children in Yr 6 who wish to be confirmed must be enrolled at the Parish Office. Amoris Laetitia ‘The Joy of Love: On Love in the Family’ On Friday 8th April 2016, Pope Francis published a new papal document at the Vatican in Rome. It is about marriage and family life. The papal document is also known as an ‘Apostolic Exhortation’. It is available to read and download on the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference website: https://www.catholic.org.au/synod-2015/home If you don’t have time to read all 256 pages of the Exhortation, you can access a summary on the bishops conference website. A summary is featured in the latest edition of the Viewpoint (pages 8-9) – available in the Cathedral foyer. Australian Confraternity of Catholic Clergy 2016 National Conference Monday 2nd to Friday 6th May – Armidale NSW. All liturgies are in Our Lady of the Angels Chapel. The Holy Hour is on Wednesday 4th May between 5-6 pm. It includes Ordinary Form Vespers (English) and Benediction (Latin). This is open to both local clergy and laity. The Extraordinary Form Mass is on Thursday 5th May at 12.30 pm, and is Ascension Thursday in the Extraordinary Form. All are welcome…….The Tim McCarthy Meeting Room in the Holy Family Parish Centre is being used in the evenings during this week. Apologies to parishioners and parish groups for any inconvenience.
