" But a mist used to ri se from the earth and wat er the  whole surface of the ground. # Then the Lord God formed man of dus t from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. $ The Lord God planted a garden toward the east, in Eden; and there e placed the man whom e had formed.  !ut of the ground the Lord God caused to grow every tree that is pl easing to the sight and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the "nowledge of good and evil. 1% Now a river flowed out of Eden to water the garden; and from there it divided and became four rivers. 11 The name of the first i s #ishon; it flows around the w hole land of avilah, where there is gold. 12 The gold of that land is good; t he bdellium and the ony$ stone are there . 1& The name of the second river is Gihon; it flows around the whole land of %ush. 14 The name of the third river is Tigris; it flow s east of &ssyria. &nd the f ourth river is the Euphrates. 1! Then the Lord God too" the man and put him into the garden of Eden to cultivate it and "eep it. 1" The Lord God commanded the man, say ing, '(rom any tree of the garden y ou may eat freely; 1# but from the tree of the " nowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that y ou eat from it you will surely die.) 1$ Then the Lord God said, '*t is not good for the man to be alone; * will ma"e him a helper suitable for him.) 1 !ut of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the s"y, and brought them to the man to see what he would call them; and whatever the man called a living creature, that was its name. 'saiah 24:4-$ 4 The earth mourns and withers, the world fades and withers, the e$alted of the people of the earth fade away. ! The earth is also polluted by its inhabitants, for they transgressed laws, violated statutes, bro"e the everlasting covenant. " Therefore, a curse devours the earth, and those who live in it a re held guilty. Therefore, the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men are left. # The new wine mourns , The vine decays, &ll the merry+hearted sigh. $ The gaiety of tambouri nes ceases, The noise of revelers stops, The gaiety of the harp ceases.
