Weber Road Church of Christ Sharing God’s Word with

Corpus Christi & the World

Bible Bowl 2017!

AWESOME! That is the word that best describes Bible Bowl

each year. When young people dedicate several months of

serious study to God’s Word, only good things can come

about. We are very happy to have so much support from

many congregations as we host this annual event. It is also

good to see friends from various congregations that have

been made throughout the years. Page three contains more

information about Bible Bowl that you will want to see.

Thanks to all our Weber Road volunteers who put in a lot

of time and effort to help. Well over 80 Weber Road members

of all talents and abilities assisted us with Bible Bowl this

year. Jobs included teaching classes, set-up, serving lunch,

clean-up, registration, coordinating games after lunch,

picking up supplies, monitoring tests, grading tests, scoring

tests for placement in awards, security, picture taking,

coordinating t-shirts, etc. Dozens of Weber Road members

helped to make our 34th annual Bible Bowl run efficiently.

THANK YOU!

Next year’s Bible Bowl will be over Galatians, Ephesians,

Philippians and Colossians! It will be on Saturday, November

3, 2018. Plan to be there!

Hello Church Family, Our last blood drive for the year is November 12th from 11 AM-1:30 PM. There will be a luncheon served for all donors in the Fellowship Hall. Seniors, if you need

your Red Cord for graduation, this is a great opportunity for that. This luncheon will also serve as a celebratory luncheon for past donors as well. We are currently at 78% out of 100 lives saved. I thank you all for your time and effort in helping me in this life saving effort. -Laurie Shelton

AWESOME BIBLE BOWL!

The 2017 Bible Bowl went VERY well. We hope everyone had a wonderful day together. We had participants from 15 congregations who attended: Adams Str (Beeville), Brenham, Graeber Rd (Rosenberg), Laredo, Laurel Str (SA), Nixon, Odem, Pleasanton, Port Lavaca, San Pedro (SA), Shenandoah, South Union (Houston), University (San Marcos), Weber Rd, and Western Hills (Fort Worth). The top 5 teams in each age division were as follows (place/congregations/last names) Elementary Teams: 1st- South Union (Tucker, Lewis, Lewis, Galloway) 2nd- Graeber Road (Meador, Albers, Albright, Hall) 3rd- Weber Road (Bailey, Shelton, Yaws, Charlebois) 4th - Graeber Road (Harnage, Martin, Meador, Gateley) 5th - San Pedro - (Mijares, Vranes, Black, Nelson) Middle School Teams: 1st- Graeber Road (Vaugh, Gateley, Tidwell, Vaughn) 2nd- Laurel Street (Trevino, Trevino, Nauls, Nauls) 3rd - South Union (Hurd, Galloway, Lewis) 4th- San Pedro (Wright, Stevens, Schaefer, Black) Nixon (Tamez, Valerio, Valerio) High School Teams: 1st- University (O’Bannon, Moseley, Underwood) 2nd - Graeber Road (Albers, Martin, Tidwell, Tidwell) 3rd - Graeber Road (Martin, Campbell, Hankins) 4th - Weber Road (Hooten, Hammitt, Montgomery, Stark) 5th - Shenandoah (Baltierra, Rodriguez, Rodriguez) Weber Road had 22 participants: Mady Yaws, Lucas Brinn, John Brinn, Andrew Charlebois, James Shelton, Aubrey Honig, Dylan Yaws, Annora Bailey, Tayden Lucero, Autumn Gonzales, Isabella Hunt, Jazlyn Price, Peyton Yaws, Leah Brady, Lilliana Quesnal, Pay-ton Hammitt, Kira Montgomery, Cole Esslinger, Grace Hooten, Ryan Stark, Tyler Crowe, and Michael Brady. Following are the top 13 award winners in each age group and the top scores. A total of 141 young people competed! Over 135 awards were given out and we hope even more will participate next year which will be November 3, 2018 over Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians and Colossians.
