I Have a Place in Heaven
Please don’t sing sad songs for me.
Forget your grief and fears,
for I am in a perfect place away from pain and tears.
I’m far away from hunger and hurt and want and pride.
I have a place in Heaven with the Master at my side.
My life on Earth was very good, as earthly life can go,
but paradise is so much more than anyone can know.
My heart is filled with happiness and sweet rejoicing, too.
To walk with God is perfect peace, a joy forever new.

Reverend Dr. Michael Howard, Pastor
George LeeLunsford
George Lee Lunsford, a native of Mobile, Alabama, departed from his Earthly dwelling place on Thursday, April 12, 2018, to occupy residence in his Heavenly mansion. George took to heart the words of John 16:33, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world,” for he truly was at peace.
George was born to the union of the late Johnnie and Eddie Mae Lunsford, Sr., on July 29, 1936. He honorably served his country as a solider in the United States Army and fought valiantly in the Korean War. He is now having a reunion with his parents and siblings, Louis, Eddie, Johnnie Jr., Collier and Dorothy, who welcomed him home with open arms, for he fought a good fight, kept the faith, and now will receive the crown of righteousness which the Lord has prepared.
George leaves behind his devoted wife, Annie Lunsford, who was his companion, love, and caregiver for 50 years; two caring sons, Bobby Pugh and George Lee Love; two grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; two loving sisters, Mary Andrews and Barbara White. He also leaves behind Shirley Lunsford, Betty Stallworth, Jacob Pugh, Isaac Pugh, Reverend James Pugh and Edwina Dickerson who were devoted in laws. There are numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who have precious memories of George left to cherish them until we meet again.

Recessional
I’m FreeDon’t grieve for me, for now I’m free
I’m following the path God has chosen for me.
I took His hand when I heard Him call;
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way;
I’ve now found peace at the end of day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joys.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss;
Oh yes, these things I, too, will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow;
Look for the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I savored much;
Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.
Perhaps my time seems all too brief;
Don’t lengthen your pain with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and peace to thee;
God wanted me now—He has set me free.
