It is the blindness of Modernity that seems to me fundamental, and to wich modernism is a response: the great fact, to go back to Adam Smith's insight, is the hiddenness of the hidden hand; or rather, the visibility of that hiddenness the availability to individual consciousness of more and more information pointing to the purposlessness of social action (p. 8)
