Artisanality

ArtisanalityFashion through the eye of a historic naturalist, blending make-believe worlds with fine craftsmanship. This story is driven by a fascination for history and old curiosity.

A casual bohemian styling direction inspired by global fringe culture and off-grid living. The anarchic freedom of opting out, and life on the road and in remote communities inspires the bohemian mix of surf and biker references in this story. A spirit of sustainable self-reliance makes creative use of everything found along the way to shape a personal vision of life and art. Gaps in the scientific documentation of the world are filled by our imagination and create a mythical mix between fantasy and authenticity.

Treasures of vintage costume and textile archives create a desire to preserve forgotten garments and construction details, as well as the attitude to repair and care for valued items rather than replace them.

Native visual arts and local textile patterns are simplified and adap-ted, merging into graphic stripes and chevrons to become part of a global cultural aesthetic. Details are stripped back to create a modern look while retro colours are retained as emotive links to the originals.

Delicate skeletal structures and intricate patterns reflect an artistry and exquisite craftsmanship that drives a high-end approach to construction and detail.

Delicate shades of fossils and bones are set against earthy laye-red darks. Hot and cool tones reverberate between the colours of flames and intense, yet calming violets and blues. Metallics are fluid and complement both the neutrals and the brighter shades.

Pop Art

Pop ArtBlog culture, novelty references and an anything-goes attitude inspires this playful direction. Ariot of kitsch references informs summer graphic motifs alongside a more elevated approach to Pop Art-referencing pattern.

With the continuation of the 90s trend, nostalgic cartoon icons such as Mickey Mouse and Batman, or movie revivals such as the upcoming Star Wars film, create statement prints on campshirts and accessories. While polka dots are enlarged for a more playful pattern, artistic prints such as colourful brushstrokes and splatters of paint come to the forefront as a key print and pattern story. Patches and embroidery of childlike imagery appear on shirts and sweatshirts. Accessories take on an arts and crafts feel with candy bead bracelets and fun pendant necklaces.

A bold primary palette is the base for a rainbow of colours joined with some kitsch pastels.

Tropical

TropicalThe summer tropical trend continues to be the most important look this season with ramped-up and saturated colour boosts on boardshorts to sweatshirts, tees and dresses.

To compliment the Hyper tropical trend, the look extends to T-shirt placements giving a more casual edge. Brands use humour, juxta-posing elements and image treatments to move the direction on.

Encapsulating the summer mood, oceanic creatures and sea birds are amongst the most popular themes. An unexpected appearance from extinct animals is also seen.

Floral pattern clash combines colour-blocking, contrasting stripes and striking coloured panels to give a fresh look this season.

Continuing the biggest trend this season, plant-life and leaves are given a more premium look. Colours are muted and limited to a grey or blue monochrome palette.

For a more commercial approach to conversationals, casualwear is given a sophisticated update with simple graphic vector symbols including mystic references, arrows and holiday motifs; all arranged in spacious grid compositions and paired back colours.

Bright tropical Hawaiian prints are updated with subtle overdyingtechniques for the mens casualwear and youth markets.

VarsityA combination of preppy and sportswear, influences of the coun-tryclub and the traditional sports are combined with update ideas of Luxe and active sportswear.

Also look at alternative sports such as American football and ice hockey for authentic athletic design inspiration. This look is given an update with a focus on classic team colour palettes. Consider placement stripes and bold numbers with 3D treatments for the genuine varsity mood. Cut and construction are soft and supremely comfortable, and are given a tailord twist.
